ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 83

1 ૧ ગાયન, આસાફનું ગીત. હે ઈશ્વર, તમે છાના ન રહો! હે ઈશ્વર, અમારી અવગણના ના કરશો અને સ્થિર રહો.

A song. A Psalm by Asaph. God, don’t keep silent. Don’t keep silent, and don’t be still, God.

2 ૨ જુઓ, તમારા શત્રુઓ હુલ્લડ મચાવે છે અને જેઓ તમને ધિક્કારે છે તેમણે તમારી સામે માથું ઊંચું કર્યું છે.

For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.

3 ૩ તેઓ તમારા લોકો વિરુદ્ધ કપટભરી યોજનાઓ કરે છે અને તમારા લોક જેઓ તમને મૂલ્યવાન છે, તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ પ્રપંચ રચે છે.

They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones.

4 ૪ તેઓએ કહ્યું છે, “ચાલો, પ્રજા તરીકેના તેમના અસ્તિત્વનો આપણે સંપૂર્ણ નાશ કરીએ. જેથી ઇઝરાયલના નામનું સ્મરણ હવે પછી કદી રહે નહિ.”

“Come,” they say, “let’s destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

5 ૫ તેઓએ એકસાથે મસલત કરી છે; તેઓ તમારી વિરુદ્ધ કરાર કરે છે.

For they have conspired together with one mind. They form an alliance against you.

6 ૬ તંબુમાં રહેનાર અદોમીઓ, ઇશ્માએલીઓ, મોઆબીઓ તથા હાગ્રીઓ,

The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites;

7 ૭ ગબાલ, આમ્મોન, અમાલેક; તૂર દેશના લોકો અને પલિસ્તીઓ પણ કરાર કરે છે.

Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;

8 ૮ તેઓની સાથે આશ્શૂર પણ સામેલ થાય છે; તેઓએ લોતના વંશજોને સહાય કરી છે. (સેલાહ)

Assyria also is joined with them. They have helped the children of Lot. (Selah)

9 ૯ તમે જે મિદ્યાન સાથે કર્યું, જેમ કીશોન નદી પર સીસરા તથા યાબીન સાથે કર્યું, તેમ તેઓની સાથે કરો.

Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;

10 ૧૦ એન-દોરમાં તેઓ નાશ પામ્યા અને ભૂમિના ખાતર જેવા થઈ ગયા.

who perished at Endor, who became as dung for the earth.

11 ૧૧ તેઓના સરદારોને ઓરેબ તથા ઝએબના જેવા અને તેઓના સર્વ રાજકુમારોને ઝેબાહ તથા સાલ્મુન્ના જેવા કરો.

Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,

12 ૧૨ તેઓએ કહ્યું, “ચાલો આપણે પોતાને માટે ઈશ્વરના નિવાસસ્થાનને પ્રાપ્ત કરીએ.”

who said, “Let’s take possession of God’s pasture lands.”

13 ૧૩ હે મારા ઈશ્વર, તેઓને વંટોળિયાની ધૂળ જેવા, પવનથી ઊડતાં ફોતરાં જેવા કરો.

My God, make them like tumbleweed, like chaff before the wind.

14 ૧૪ જેમ અગ્નિ જંગલોને ભસ્મ કરે છે અને આગ પર્વતોને સળગાવે તેમ વિનાશ કરો.

As the fire that burns the forest, as the flame that sets the mountains on fire,

15 ૧૫ તમારા વંટોળિયાઓથી અને તમારા તોફાનોથી તેમનો પીછો કરો અને તેમને ત્રાસ પમાડો.

so pursue them with your tempest, and terrify them with your storm.

16 ૧૬ બદનામીથી તેઓ પોતાનાં મુખ સંતાડે કે જેથી, હે યહોવાહ, તેઓ તમારું નામ શોધે.

Fill their faces with confusion, that they may seek your name, LORD.

17 ૧૭ તેઓ હંમેશા લજ્જિત થાઓ અને ગૂંચવાઈ જાઓ; તેઓ અપમાનિત થાઓ અને નાશ પામો.

Let them be disappointed and dismayed forever. Yes, let them be confounded and perish;

18 ૧૮ જેથી તેઓ જાણે કે તમે એકલા જ યહોવાહ છો, તમે એકલા જ સમગ્ર પૃથ્વી પર પરાત્પર ઈશ્વર છો.

that they may know that you alone, whose name is the LORD, are the Most High over all the earth.
