ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 35

1 ૧ દાઉદનું (ગીત). હે યહોવાહ, મારી વિરુદ્ધ વાદ કરનારની સામે તમે વાદ કરો; મારી વિરુદ્ધ લડનારની સાથે તમે લડાઈ કરો.

By David. Contend, Yahweh, with those who contend with me. Fight against those who fight against me.

2 ૨ નાની તથા મોટી ઢાલ સજીને મારી સહાયને માટે ઊભા થાઓ.

Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help.

3 ૩ જેઓ મારી પાછળ લાગેલા છે તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ તમારા ભાલાનો ઉપયોગ કરો; મારા આત્માને કહો, “હું તારો ઉદ્ધાર કરનાર છું.”

Brandish the spear and block those who pursue me. Tell my soul, “I am your salvation.”

4 ૪ જેઓ મારા જીવના તરસ્યા છે તેઓ બદનામ થાઓ. જેઓ મારું નુકસાન ઇચ્છે છે, તેઓ રઝળી પડો અને પાછા હઠો.

Let those who seek after my soul be disappointed and brought to dishonor. Let those who plot my ruin be turned back and confounded.

5 ૫ તેઓ પવનથી ઊડતાં ફોતરાં જેવા થાય, તેઓને યહોવાહનો દૂત નસાડી મૂકો.

Let them be as chaff before the wind, Yahweh’s angel driving them on.

6 ૬ તેઓનો માર્ગ અંધકારમય અને લપસણો થાઓ, યહોવાહનો દૂત તેઓની પાછળ પડો.

Let their way be dark and slippery, Yahweh’s angel pursuing them.

7 ૭ તેઓએ વગર કારણે મારે માટે ખાડામાં પોતાની જાળ સંતાડી રાખી છે; વિનાકારણ તેઓએ મારા જીવને માટે ખાડો ખોદ્યો છે.

For without cause they have hidden their net in a pit for me. Without cause they have dug a pit for my soul.

8 ૮ તેઓના પર અચાનક વિપત્તિ આવી પડો. પોતાના જાળમાં તેઓ પોતે જ ફસાઈ પડો. પોતાના ખોદેલા ખાડામાં પડીને તેઓનો સંહાર થાઓ.

Let destruction come on him unawares. Let his net that he has hidden catch himself. Let him fall into that destruction.

9 ૯ પણ હું યહોવાહમાં આનંદ કરીશ અને તેમના ઉદ્ધારમાં હર્ષ પામીશ.

My soul shall be joyful in Yahweh. It shall rejoice in his salvation.

10 ૧૦ મારા સઘળા બળથી હું કહીશ કે, “હે યહોવાહ, તમારા જેવું કોણ છે? જે દીનને તેના કરતાં વધારે બળવાનથી બચાવે છે અને દીન તથા કંગાલને લૂંટનારાથી છોડાવે છે.”

All my bones shall say, “Yahweh, who is like you, who delivers the poor from him who is too strong for him; yes, the poor and the needy from him who robs him?”

11 ૧૧ જૂઠા સાક્ષીઓ ઊભા થાય છે; તેઓ મારા પર આરોપ મૂકે છે.

Unrighteous witnesses rise up. They ask me about things that I don’t know about.

12 ૧૨ તેઓ ભલાઈને બદલે મને બુરું પાછું આપે છે. જેથી હું અનાથ થઈ જાઉં છું.

They reward me evil for good, to the bereaving of my soul.

13 ૧૩ પણ, જ્યારે તેઓ બીમાર હતા, ત્યારે હું ટાટ પહેરતો; હું ઉપવાસથી મારા જીવને દુઃખી કરતો અને મારી પ્રાર્થના મારા હૃદયમાં પાછી આવતી હતી.

But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth. I afflicted my soul with fasting. My prayer returned into my own bosom.

14 ૧૪ તે લોકો જાણે મારા ભાઈઓ અને મારા નજીકના મિત્રો હોય તેવો વર્તાવ મેં તેઓની સાથે રાખ્યો; પોતાની માતાને માટે વિલાપ કરનારની માફક હું શોકથી નમી જતો.

I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as one who mourns his mother.

15 ૧૫ પણ જ્યારે મારી પડતી થઈ, ત્યારે તેઓ હર્ષ પામતા અને ટોળે વળતા; હું તે જાણતો નહિ, એવી રીતે તેઓ મારી વિરુદ્ધ ટોળે વળતા.

But in my adversity, they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together. The attackers gathered themselves together against me, and I didn’t know it. They tore at me, and didn’t cease.

16 ૧૬ કોઈ પણ માન વગર તેઓએ મારી હાંસી ઉડાવી; તેઓએ મારા તરફ દાંત કચકચાવીને ગુસ્સો કર્યો.

Like the profane mockers in feasts, they gnashed their teeth at me.

17 ૧૭ હે પ્રભુ, ક્યાં સુધી શાંત બેસી રહી જોયા કરશો? તેઓના સંહારથી મારા જીવને તથા સિંહોથી મારા આત્માને બચાવી લો.

Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my soul from their destruction, my precious life from the lions.

18 ૧૮ એટલે હું ભરસભામાં તમારી આભારસ્તુતિ કરીશ; ઘણા લોકોની મધ્યે હું તમારી પ્રશંસા કરીશ.

I will give you thanks in the great assembly. I will praise you among many people.

19 ૧૯ મારા જૂઠા શત્રુઓને મારા પર હસવા દેશો નહિ; જેઓ વિનાકારણ મારો દ્વ્રેષ કરે છે તેઓ આંખના મિચકાર ન મારો.

Don’t let those who are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me; neither let those who hate me without a cause wink their eyes.

20 ૨૦ કારણ કે તેઓનું બોલવું શાંતિદાયક નથી, પણ દેશમાં શાંત રહેનારાઓની વિરુદ્ધ તેઓ દગાબાજી કરે છે.

For they don’t speak peace, but they devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land.

21 ૨૧ તેઓ મારી વિરુદ્ધ ખુલ્લા મુખે બોલે છે; તેઓએ કહ્યું, “હા, હા, અમારી આંખોએ તે જોયું છે.”

Yes, they opened their mouth wide against me. They said, “Aha! Aha! Our eye has seen it!”

22 ૨૨ હે યહોવાહ, તમે તે જોયું છે, તમે ચૂપ ન રહો; હે પ્રભુ, મારાથી દૂર ન જાઓ.

You have seen it, Yahweh. Don’t keep silent. Lord, don’t be far from me.

23 ૨૩ મારો ન્યાય કરવા માટે જાગૃત થાઓ; હે મારા ઈશ્વર અને મારા પ્રભુ, મારી દાદ સાંભળવા માટે જાગો.

Wake up! Rise up to defend me, my God! My Lord, contend for me!

24 ૨૪ હે મારા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ, તમારા ન્યાયીપણાથી મારો ન્યાય કરો; તેઓને મારા પર આનંદ કરવા ન દો.

Vindicate me, Yahweh my God, according to your righteousness. Don’t let them gloat over me.

25 ૨૫ તેઓને પોતાના હૃદયમાં એમ કહેવા ન દો કે, “આહા, અમારે જે જોઈતું હતું, તે અમારી પાસે છે.” તેઓને એમ કહેવા ન દો કે, “અમે તેને ગળી ગયા છીએ.”

Don’t let them say in their heart, “Aha! That’s the way we want it!” Don’t let them say, “We have swallowed him up!”

26 ૨૬ મારા નુકસાનમાં આનંદ પામનારા સર્વ બદનામ થાઓ અને ઝંખવાણા પડો. મારી વિરુદ્ધ બડાઈ કરનારાઓ અપમાનિત થઈને શરમાઈ જાઓ.

Let them be disappointed and confounded together who rejoice at my calamity. Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me.

27 ૨૭ જેઓ મારા ન્યાયીપણામાં આનંદ કરે છે; તેઓ હર્ષ પામીને જયજયકાર કરો; તેઓ હમેશાં કહો, જે પોતાના સેવકની આબાદીમાં ખુશ રહે છે, તે યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ થાઓ.

Let those who favor my righteous cause shout for joy and be glad. Yes, let them say continually, “May Yahweh be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant!”

28 ૨૮ ત્યારે હું તમારું ન્યાયીપણું પ્રગટ કરીશ અને આખો દિવસ હું તમારાં સ્તોત્ર ગાઈશ.

My tongue shall talk about your righteousness and about your praise all day long.
