ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 17

1 ૧ દાઉદની પ્રાર્થના. હે યહોવાહ, મારો ન્યાય સાંભળો; મારી પ્રાર્થના પર ધ્યાન આપો! દંભી હોઠોમાંથી નીકળતી નથી એવી મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળો.

A Prayer of David. Hear, O Yahweh, the right, Attend to my loud cry, Give ear unto my prayer, on lips that would not deceive:

2 ૨ મારો ન્યાય તમારી હજૂરમાંથી આવો; તમારી આંખો ન્યાયને જુએ!

From before thee, let my sentence come forth, Thine eyes, behold with equity.

3 ૩ જો તમે મારા હૃદયને પારખ્યું છે, જો તમે મારી તપાસ રાત્રે રાખી છે, તમે મને પવિત્ર કરશો અને મારામાં તમને કંઈ દોષ માલૂમ પડશે નહિ; કેમ કે હું નિશ્ચિત છું કે હું મારા મુખે અપરાધ કરીશ નહિ.

Thou hast tested my heart, hast made inspection by night, hast refined me until thou couldst find nothing, Had I devised evil, my mouth should not have transgressed:

4 ૪ માણસનાં કૃત્યો વિષે હું બોલું તો તમારાં વચનોની સહાયથી હું જુલમીઓના માર્ગમાંથી દૂર રહ્યો છું.

As for the workings of men, By the word of thy lips, have, I, taken heed of the paths of the violent one.

5 ૫ મારાં પગલાં તમારા માર્ગોમાં સ્થિર રહ્યાં છે; મારો પગ લપસી ગયો નથી.

Thou hast held fast my goings on to thy ways, My footsteps have not been shaken:

6 ૬ મેં તમને વિનંતિ કરી, કેમ કે, હે ઈશ્વર, તમે મને ઉત્તર આપશો; મારી તરફ કાન ધરો અને મારું બોલવું સાંભળો.

I, have called upon thee, for thou wilt answer me, O GOD, —Incline thine ear unto me, Hear thou my speech:

7 ૭ જેઓ તમારા પર ભરોસો રાખે છે તેમની સામે ઊઠનારાઓથી તેમને તમારા જમણા હાથથી બચાવીને તમારી અદ્દભૂત કરુણા દર્શાવો!

Let thy lovingkindness be distinguished, thou Saviour of such as seek refuge from them who lift themselves up against thy right hand.

8 ૮ તમારી આંખની કીકીની જેમ મારી રક્ષા કરો; તમારી પાંખોની છાયા નીચે મને સંતાડો.

Guard me, as the pupil of the eye, —Under the shadow of thy wings, wilt thou hide me:

9 ૯ જેઓ મારા ઘાતકી વેરીઓ છે અને જેઓ મને ચારે બાજુથી ઘેરે છે, એવો મારો નાશ કરનારા દુષ્ટોથી મને બચાવો.

From the face of lawless ones who have treated me with violence, the foes of my soul, who come round against me:

10 ૧૦ તેઓ કોઈની પર પણ દયા દર્શાવતા નથી; તેઓ પોતાના મુખે અભિમાનથી બોલે છે.

Their own fat [heart], have they shut up, —With their mouth, have they spoken proudly.

11 ૧૧ તેઓએ અમને અમારા દરેક પગલે ઘેર્યા છે. તેઓની આંખો અમને ભૂમિ પર પછાડવાને તાકી રહી છે.

As for our own goings, now, have they surrounded us, —Their eyes, they fix, bending to the earth:

12 ૧૨ તેઓ સિંહની જેમ શિકારને ફાડી ખાવા આતુર છે, ત્રાટકવાની રાહ જોતા છુપાઈ ગયેલા જુવાન સિંહના બચ્ચાં જેવા છે.

His likeness, is as a lion, that longeth to rend, and as a young lion, lurking in secret places.

13 ૧૩ હે યહોવાહ, તમે ઊઠો! તેમના પર હુમલો કરો! તેમને નીચે પાડી નાખો! તમારી તલવાર દ્વારા દુષ્ટથી મારા જીવને બચાવો.

Rise, Yahweh! Confront his face, Bring him down, Deliver my soul from the lawless one [who is] thy sword:

14 ૧૪ હે યહોવાહ, તમારા હાથ વડે માણસોથી કે જેઓનો હિસ્સો આ જિંદગીમાં છે તેવા આ જગતના માણસોથી મારા જીવને બચાવો! જેઓનાં પેટ તમે તમારા દ્રવ્યથી ભરો છો; તેઓને ઘણા બાળકો છે અને પોતાની બાકી રહેલી મિલકતનો વારસો પોતાનાં બાળકોને માટે મૂકી જાય છે.

From men [who are] thy hand, O Yahweh, From the men of this age, whose portion, is among the living, and, with thy treasure, thou fillest their bosom, —They must be satisfied with sons, And must leave their abundance to their children: —

15 ૧૫ પણ હું તો ન્યાયપણે વર્તીને તમારું મુખ જોઈશ; જ્યારે હું જાગીશ ત્યારે તમને જોઈને સંતોષ પામીશ.

I, in righteousness, shall behold thy face, Shall be satisfied when awakened by a vision of thee.
