ચર્મિયા 48
1 ૧ ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ મોઆબ વિષે આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે કે; “નબોને અફસોસ, તે નષ્ટ થઈ ગયું છે. કિર્યાથાઈમ લજ્જિત થયું છે અને પાયમાલ થયું છે. તેનો કિલ્લો તોડી પાડવામાં આવ્યો છે.
Of Moab. The LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “Woe to Nebo! For it is laid waste. Kiriathaim is disappointed. It is taken. Misgab is put to shame and broken down.
2 ૨ મોઆબનું ગૌરવ હવે રહ્યું નથી, હેશ્બોનમાં મોઆબના શત્રુઓએ એના પતનની યોજના ઘડી છે. તેઓ કહે છે ‘ચાલો, આપણે તેને દેશ તરીકે ભૂંસી નાખીએ. માદમેન નગરને પણ ચૂપ કરવામાં આવશે; શત્રુઓની તલવાર તારો પીછો કરશે.’
The praise of Moab is no more. In Heshbon they have devised evil against her: ‘Come! Let’s cut her off from being a nation.’ You also, Madmen, will be brought to silence. The sword will pursue you.
The sound of a cry from Horonaim, desolation and great destruction!
Moab is destroyed. Her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
5 ૫ કેમ કે તેઓ રડતાં રડતાં લૂહીથના ઢોળાવો પર ચઢે છે. અને તેઓ દુ: ખથી વિલાપ કરતાં કરતાં હોરોનાયિમના ઢોળાવો ઊતરે છે.
For they will go up by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping. For at the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.
Flee! Save your lives! Be like the juniper bush in the wilderness.
7 ૭ કેમ કે તમે પોતાની સંપત્તિ અને કામો પર વિશ્વાસ રાખ્યો છે, તમને પણ પકડવામાં આવશે. તમારા મૂંગા દેવ કમોશ દેશવટે જશે, તેના યાજકો અને સરદારો તેની સાથે જશે.
For, because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you also will be taken. Chemosh will go out into captivity, his priests and his princes together.
8 ૮ દરેક નગર પર વિનાશ ઊતરશે, એક પણ શહેર બચવા પામશે નહિ. ખીણ નાશ પામશે અને મેદાન પાયમાલ થશે. એવું યહોવાહ કહે છે.
The destroyer will come on every city, and no city will escape; the valley also will perish, and the plain will be destroyed, as the LORD has spoken.
Give wings to Moab, that she may fly and get herself away: and her cities will become a desolation, without anyone to dwell in them.
10 ૧૦ જે કોઈ યહોવાહનું કામ કરવા સારું આળસુ હોય તે શાપિત થાઓ! જે માણસ તલવારથી રક્તપાત કરતા નથી તે શાપિત થાઓ!
“Cursed is he who does the work of the LORD negligently; and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.
11 ૧૧ મોઆબ પોતાની તરુણાવસ્થાથી સ્વસ્થ રહ્યો છે. તે દ્રાક્ષારસ જેવો છે. તેને એક પાત્રમાંથી બીજા પાત્રમાં રેડવામાં આવ્યો નથી. તેનો સ્વાદ હંમેશ જેવો જ રહ્યો છે; અને તેની સુગંધ બદલાઈ નથી.
“Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his dregs, and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither has he gone into captivity; therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent is not changed.
12 ૧૨ યહોવાહ કહે છે કે, તેથી જુઓ, એવો સમય આવે છે કે’ જે સમયે હું તેઓની પાસે ઊલટસુલટ કરનારા મોકલીશ. તેઓ તેને ઊલટપાલટ કરશે. તેઓ તેના પાત્રો ખાલી કરશે. તેમની બરણીઓ ફોડી નાખશે.
Therefore behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will send to him those who pour off, and they will pour him off; and they will empty his vessels, and break their containers in pieces.
Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.
“How do you say, ‘We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war’?
15 ૧૫ જે રાજાનું નામ સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ છે તે કહે છે કે, મોઆબ ઉજ્જડ થયો છે. અને તેનાં નગરોમાં શત્રુઓ ઘૂસી ગયા છે. તેના શ્રેષ્ઠ જુવાનો, કતલ થવા માટે જ ઊતરી ગયા છે.
Moab is laid waste, and they have gone up into his cities, and his chosen young men have gone down to the slaughter,” says the King, whose name is the LORD of Hosts.
“The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hurries fast.
17 ૧૭ હે મોઆબની આસપાસના લોક, તેનું નામ જાણનારા, વિલાપ કરો. અને કહો કે, શક્તિનો દંડ, સૌંદર્યની છડી કેવી ભાગી ગઈ છે.’
All you who are around him, bemoan him; and all you who know his name, say, ‘How the strong staff is broken, the beautiful rod!’
18 ૧૮ હે દીબોનમાં રહેનારી દીકરી, તમારા સન્માનજનક સ્થાન ઉપરથી નીચે ઊતરી અને તરસી થઈને બેસ. કેમ કે મોઆબનો વિનાશ કરનાર આવી પહોંચ્યો છે. અને તેણે તારા કિલ્લાઓનો નાશ કર્યો છે.
“You daughter who dwells in Dibon, come down from your glory, and sit in thirst; for the destroyer of Moab has come up against you. He has destroyed your strongholds.
Inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way and watch. Ask him who flees, and her who escapes; say, ‘What has been done?’
20 ૨૦ મોઆબ લજ્જિત થઈ ગયું છે. તેની પાયમાલી થઈ ગઈ છે. રડો વિલાપ કરો. આર્નોનમાં ખબર આપો કે, મોઆબ ઉજ્જડ થયો છે.
Moab is disappointed; for it is broken down. Wail and cry! Tell it by the Arnon, that Moab is laid waste.
Judgment has come on the plain country— on Holon, on Jahzah, on Mephaath,
on Dibon, on Nebo, on Beth Diblathaim,
on Kiriathaim, on Beth Gamul, on Beth Meon,
on Kerioth, on Bozrah, and on all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
25 ૨૫ મોઆબનું શિંગ કાપી નાખવામાં આવ્યું છે, અને તેનો ભુજ ભાંગી નાખવામાં આવ્યો છે.” એવું યહોવાહ કહે છે.
The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken,” says the LORD.
26 ૨૬ તેને ભાનભૂલેલો બનાવી દો, તેણે યહોવાહની વિરુદ્ધ બડાઈ મારી છે. મોઆબ પોતાની ઊલટીમાં આળોટશે અને લોકોની હાંસીનું પાત્ર થશે.
“Make him drunk, for he magnified himself against the LORD. Moab will wallow in his vomit, and he also will be in derision.
27 ૨૭ શું તેં ઇઝરાયલની હાંસી કરી નહોતી? શું તે તેઓને ચોરોમાંથી મળી આવ્યો હતો? હા, જ્યારે પણ તેં તેમના વિષે વાત કરી છે ત્યારે તેં તારી ગરદન હલાવી છે.
For wasn’t Israel a derision to you? Was he found among thieves? For as often as you speak of him, you shake your head.
28 ૨૮ હે મોઆબના લોકો, તમારાં નગરો છોડી ખડકો પર વસો. અને ખાડાના મોંની બાજુમાં પોતાના માળા બાંધીને કબૂતરોના જેવા તમે થાઓ.
You inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock. Be like the dove that makes her nest over the mouth of the abyss.
29 ૨૯ અમે મોઆબના ગર્વ વિષે સાંભળ્યું છે. તે અતિ ગર્વિષ્ઠ છે. તેનું અભિમાન, ઘમંડ, અહંકાર, ઉદ્ધતાઈ વિષે અમે સાંભળ્યું છે.”
“We have heard of the pride of Moab. He is very proud in his loftiness, his pride, his arrogance, and the arrogance of his heart.
30 ૩૦ યહોવાહ કહે છે કે; હુંતેનો ક્રોધ જાણું છું. તેની બડાઈ બધી ખોટી છે, અને તેનાં કાર્યો બધાં પોકળ છે.
I know his wrath,” says the LORD, “that it is nothing; his boastings have done nothing.
31 ૩૧ અને તેથી હું મોઆબને માટે ચિંતા કરું છું. સમગ્ર મોઆબ માટે હું પોક મૂકીને રડું છું અને કીર-હેરેસના માણસો માટે હું શોક કરું છું.”
Therefore I will wail for Moab. Yes, I will cry out for all Moab. They will mourn for the men of Kir Heres.
32 ૩૨ હે સિબ્માહના દ્રાક્ષવાડી, હું યાઝેરના કરતાં પણ તારે માટે વધુ વિલાપ કરું છું. તારી ડાળીઓ સમુદ્રની પાર ફેલાયેલી છે. તેઓ યાઝેરના સમુદ્ર સુધી પહોંચી તથા ઉનાળાંનાં તારાં ફળ પર તથા તારી દ્રક્ષાની ઊપજ પર વિનાશ આવી પડ્યો છે.
With more than the weeping of Jazer I will weep for you, vine of Sibmah. Your branches passed over the sea. They reached even to the sea of Jazer. The destroyer has fallen on your summer fruits and on your vintage.
33 ૩૩ ફળદ્રુપ ખેતરમાંથી તથા મોઆબની ભૂમિમાંથી ખુશી અને આનંદ અદ્રશ્ય થઈ ગયાં છે, “દ્રાક્ષકુંડોમાં દ્રાક્ષારસ પિલાતો બંધ પાડ્યો છે. કોઈ દ્રાક્ષ ગૂંદતા ગૂંદતાં આનંદના પોકારો કરશે નહિ તેઓનો લલકાર આનંદનો હશે નહિ.
Gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab. I have caused wine to cease from the wine presses. No one will tread with shouting. The shouting will be no shouting.
34 ૩૪ હેશ્બોનથી એલઆલેહ સુધી અને ત્યાંથી યાહાસ સુધી સોઆરથી હોરોનાયિમ સુધી, અને ત્યાંથી એગ્લાથ-શલીશિયા સુધી ભય અને વેદનાના પોકારો સંભળાય છે. નિમ્રીમનાં પાણી સુકાઈ જશે.
From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh, even to Jahaz they have uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim, to Eglath Shelishiyah; for the waters of Nimrim will also become desolate.
35 ૩૫ યહોવાહ કહે છે કે, મોઆબમાં જેઓ ઉચ્ચસ્થાનમાં બલિદાનો આપે છે. અને જેઓ પોતાના દેવો આગળ ધૂપ બાળે છે. તે સર્વને હું નષ્ટ કરીશ.”
Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab,” says the LORD, “him who offers in the high place, and him who burns incense to his gods.
36 ૩૬ આથી મારું હૃદય મોઆબ અને કીર-હેરેસ માટે શોક કરે છે. કેમ કે જે પુષ્કળ ધન તેઓએ પ્રાપ્ત કર્યું હતું તેઓની સર્વ સંપત્તિ નાશ પામી છે.
Therefore my heart sounds for Moab like flutes, and my heart sounds like flutes for the men of Kir Heres. Therefore the abundance that he has gotten has perished.
37 ૩૭ હા, દરેક માણસનું માથું બોડાયું છે અને બધા માણસની દાઢી મૂંડવામાં આવી છે. તેઓના હાથે ઘા થયેલો છે. અને દરેકની કમરે ટાટ વીંટળાયેલું છે.
For every head is bald, and every beard clipped. There are cuttings on all the hands, and sackcloth on the waist.
38 ૩૮ મોઆબનાં સર્વ ધાબાંઓ પર અને શેરીઓમાં બધે વિલાપ સંભળાય છે, કેમ કે, મેં મોઆબને અપ્રિય પાત્રને પેઠે ભાંગી નાખ્યો છે.” એમ યહોવાહ કહે છે.
On all the housetops of Moab, and in its streets, there is lamentation everywhere; for I have broken Moab like a vessel in which no one delights,” says the LORD.
39 ૩૯ “તેઓ વિલાપ કરે છે કે, તેને કેવો ભાંગી નાખવામાં આવ્યો છે! તેઓએ લજવાઈને કેવી રીતે પોતાની પીઠ ફેરવી છે! આથી પોતાની આસપાસના સર્વ લોકમાં મોઆબ ઉપહાસ તથા વિસ્મયરૂપ થશે.”
“How it is broken down! How they wail! How Moab has turned the back with shame! So will Moab become a derision and a terror to all who are around him.”
For the LORD says: “Behold, he will fly as an eagle, and will spread out his wings against Moab.
41 ૪૧ કરિયોથને જીતી લેવામાં આવ્યું છે, તેના કિલ્લાઓ પર છાપો મારીને કબજે કર્યા છે. તે સમયે મોઆબના શૂરવીરોનું હૃદય પ્રસૂતિની વેદનાથી પીડાતી સ્ત્રીના જેવું થશે.
Kerioth is taken, and the strongholds are seized. The heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day will be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
Moab will be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified himself against the LORD.
Terror, the pit, and the snare are on you, inhabitant of Moab,” says the LORD.
44 ૪૪ “જે કોઈ ભયથી નાસી જશે તે ખાડામાં પડશે, જે ખાડામાંથી ઊભો થઈને બહાર આવશે તે પકડાઈ જશે, કેમ કે હું તેના પર એટલે મોઆબ પર તેના શાસનનું વર્ષ લાવીશ. એવું યહોવાહ કહે છે.
“He who flees from the terror will fall into the pit; and he who gets up out of the pit will be taken in the snare, for I will bring on him, even on Moab, the year of their visitation,” says the LORD.
45 ૪૫ નાસી ગયેલા બળહીન નિર્વાસિતો હેશ્બોનની છાયા તળે વિસામો લે છે, હેશ્બોનમાંથી અગ્નિ અને સીહોનમાંથી જ્વાળાઓ નીકળીને, મોઆબની સીમ અને ગર્વિષ્ઠ લોકનાં માથાં ખાઈ જાય છે.
“Those who fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon; for a fire has gone out of Heshbon, and a flame from the middle of Sihon, and has devoured the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
46 ૪૬ હે મોઆબ, તને અફસોસ! કમોશના લોકો નષ્ટ થયા છે. કેમ કે તમારા દીકરાઓ અને દીકરીઓને બંદીવાસમાં લઈ જવામાં આવ્યા છે.
Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are undone; for your sons are taken away captive, and your daughters into captivity.
47 ૪૭ પરંતુ યહોવાહ કહે છે કે’ પાછલા વર્ષોમાં હું મોઆબનો બંદીવાસ ફેરવી નાખીશ,’ અહીં મોઆબ વિષેની વાત પૂરી કરાય છે.
“Yet I will reverse the captivity of Moab in the latter days,” says the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
