પુનર્નિયમ 27

1 ૧ અને મૂસાએ તથા ઇઝરાયલના આગેવાનોએ લોકોને આજ્ઞા આપી કે, “જે આજ્ઞાઓ આજે હું તમને બધાને ફરમાવું છું તે સર્વ પાળો.

Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep all the commandment which I command you today.

2 ૨ જયારે તમે યર્દન નદી ઓળંગીને જે દેશ યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમને આપે છે તેમાં તમે જાઓ ત્યારે તમારે પોતાને સારુ મોટા પથ્થર ઊભા કરીને તેના પર ચૂનાનો લેપ મારજો.

It shall be on the day when you shall pass over the Jordan to the land which the LORD your God gives you, that you shall set yourself up great stones, and coat them with plaster.

3 ૩ પાર ઊતર્યા પછી આ નિયમના સર્વ શબ્દો તેના પર તમારે લખવા. તમે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમને જે દેશ આપે છે એટલે કે દૂધ તથા મધથી રેલછેલવાળો દેશ, યહોવાહ તમારા પિતૃઓના ઈશ્વરે તમને આપેલા વચન પ્રમાણે તમને આપે છે, તેમાં તમે જાઓ.

You shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have passed over, that you may go in to the land which the LORD your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.

4 ૪ જયારે તમે યર્દન પાર કરી રહો, ત્યારે આ પથ્થરો જે વિષે હું આજે તમને આજ્ઞા આપું છું તેઓને એબાલ પર્વત પર મૂકવા અને તેના પર ચૂનો લેપ કરવો.

It shall be, when you have crossed over the Jordan, that you shall set up these stones, which I command you today, on Mount Ebal, and you shall coat them with plaster.

5 ૫ ત્યાં તમારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરના નામે પથ્થરની વેદી બાંધવી, પણ તમે તે પથ્થર પર લોખંડનું હથિયાર વાપરશો નહિ.

There you shall build an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones. You shall not use any iron tool on them.

6 ૬ તમારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર માટે વેદી બાંધવા સારુ અસલ પથ્થરોનો ઉપયોગ કરવો, તેના ઉપર યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર માટે દહનીયાર્પણ ચઢાવવાં.

You shall build the LORD your God’s altar of uncut stones. You shall offer burnt offerings on it to the LORD your God.

7 ૭ તમારે શાંત્યર્પણો ચઢાવીને ત્યાં ખાવું; તમારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની સમક્ષ આનંદ કરવો.

You shall sacrifice peace offerings, and shall eat there. You shall rejoice before the LORD your God.

8 ૮ પથ્થરો ઉપર તારે નિયમના બધા શબ્દો સ્પષ્ટ રીતે લખવા.”

You shall write on the stones all the words of this law very plainly.”

9 ૯ મૂસાએ તથા લેવી યાજકોએ સર્વ ઇઝરાયલને કહ્યું, “હે ઇઝરાયલ શાંત રહો અને સાંભળો. આજે તમે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની પ્રજા થયા છે.

Moses and the Levitical priests spoke to all Israel, saying, “Be silent and listen, Israel! Today you have become the people of the LORD your God.

10 ૧૦ તે માટે તમારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરનો અવાજ સાંભળવો, આજે હું તમને જે આજ્ઞાઓ અને કાનૂનો ફરમાવું છું તેનું પાલન કરવું.”

You shall therefore obey the LORD your God’s voice, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command you today.”

11 ૧૧ તે જ દિવસે મૂસાએ તે લોકોને આજ્ઞા આપીને કહ્યું,

Moses commanded the people the same day, saying,

12 ૧૨ “યર્દન નદી પાર કર્યા પછી લોકોને આશીર્વાદ આપવા, શિમયોન, લેવી, યહૂદા, ઇસ્સાખાર, યૂસફ તથા બિન્યામીન કુળો ગરીઝીમ પર્વત પર ઊભાં રહે.

“These shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people, when you have crossed over the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.

13 ૧૩ રુબેન, ગાદ, આશેર, ઝબુલોન, દાન તથા નફતાલીનાં કુળો શાપ આપવા એબાલ પર્વત પર ઊભાં રહે.

These shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

14 ૧૪ લેવીઓ જવાબ આપીને મોટે અવાજે સર્વ ઇઝરાયલના માણસોને કહે.

With a loud voice, the Levites shall say to all the men of Israel,

15 ૧૫ ‘જે માણસ કોતરેલી કે ગાળેલી ધાતુની એટલે કારીગરના હાથે બનેલી પ્રતિમા, જે યહોવાહને ઘૃણાસ્પદ લાગે છે તે બનાવીને તેને ગુપ્તમાં ઊભી કરે તે શાપિત હો.’ અને બધા લોકો જવાબ આપીને કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is the man who makes an engraved or molten image, an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ All the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen.’

16 ૧૬ ‘જે કોઈ માણસ પોતાના પિતા કે માતાનો અનાદર કરે તો તે શાપિત થાઓ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

17 ૧૭ ‘જે કોઈ માણસ પોતાના પડોશીની જમીનની સીમાનું નિશાન હઠાવે તો તે શાપિત થાઓ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is he who removes his neighbor’s landmark.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

18 ૧૮ ‘જે કોઈ માણસ અંધ વ્યક્તિને રસ્તાથી દૂર ભમાવે તો તે શાપિત થાઓ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is he who leads the blind astray on the road.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

19 ૧૯ ‘જે કોઈ માણસ પરદેશી, અનાથ કે વિધવાનો અન્યાય કરે તો તે શાપિત થાઓ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is he who withholds justice from the foreigner, fatherless, and widow.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

20 ૨૦ ‘જે કોઈ માણસ પોતાના પિતાની પત્ની સાથે વ્યભિચાર કરે તો તે શાપિત થાઓ, કેમ કે, તેણે પોતાના પિતાની નિવસ્ત્રતા જોઈ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is he who lies with his father’s wife, because he dishonors his father’s bed.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

21 ૨૧ ‘જે કોઈ માણસ કોઈ પણ પ્રકારના પશુંની સાથે કુકર્મ કરે તો તે શાપિત થાઓ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is he who lies with any kind of animal.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

22 ૨૨ ‘જો કોઈ માણસ પોતાની બહેન સાથે, પોતાના પિતાની દીકરી, પોતાની માતાની દીકરી સાથે કુકર્મ કરે તો તે શાપિત થાઓ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is he who lies with his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

23 ૨૩ ‘જે કોઈ માણસ તેની સાસુ સાથે કુકર્મ કરે તો તે શ્રાપિત થાઓ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

24 ૨૪ ‘જે કોઈ માણસ પોતાના પડોશીને ગુપ્ત રીતે મારી નાખે તો તે શાપિત થાઓ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is he who secretly kills his neighbor.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

25 ૨૫ ‘જે કોઈ માણસ નિર્દોષ માણસને મારી નાખવા માટે લાંચ લે તો તે માણસ શાપિત થાઓ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’

‘Cursed is he who takes a bribe to kill an innocent person.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

26 ૨૬ ‘જે કોઈ માણસ આ નિયમના શબ્દોનું પાલન ન કરે તો તે માણસ શાપિત થાઓ.’ અને બધા લોકો કહે, ‘આમીન.’”

‘Cursed is he who doesn’t uphold the words of this law by doing them.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’”
