Προς Εφεσιους 3

1 τουτου χαριν εγω παυλος ο δεσμιος του χριστου {VAR1: ιησου } {VAR2: [ιησου] } υπερ υμων των εθνων

Because of this I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles.

2 ει γε ηκουσατε την οικονομιαν της χαριτος του θεου της δοθεισης μοι εις υμας

I assume that you have heard of the stewardship of the grace of God that was given to me for you.

3 [οτι] κατα αποκαλυψιν εγνωρισθη μοι το μυστηριον καθως προεγραψα εν ολιγω

I am writing according to the revelation made known to me. This is the hidden truth about which I briefly wrote to you.

4 προς ο δυνασθε αναγινωσκοντες νοησαι την συνεσιν μου εν τω μυστηριω του χριστου

When you read about this, you will be able to understand my insight into this hidden truth about Christ.

5 ο ετεραις γενεαις ουκ εγνωρισθη τοις υιοις των ανθρωπων ως νυν απεκαλυφθη τοις αγιοις αποστολοις αυτου και προφηταις εν πνευματι

In other generations this truth was not made known to the sons of men. But now it has been revealed by the Spirit to his apostles and prophets who were set apart for this work.

6 ειναι τα εθνη συγκληρονομα και συσσωμα και συμμετοχα της επαγγελιας εν χριστω ιησου δια του ευαγγελιου

This hidden truth is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and they share the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

7 ου εγενηθην διακονος κατα την δωρεαν της χαριτος του θεου της δοθεισης μοι κατα την ενεργειαν της δυναμεως αυτου

For I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given to me through the working of his power.

8 εμοι τω ελαχιστοτερω παντων αγιων εδοθη η χαρις αυτη τοις εθνεσιν ευαγγελισασθαι το ανεξιχνιαστον πλουτος του χριστου

This grace was given to me, although I am the least of all the saints, that I should proclaim to the Gentiles the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ,

9 και φωτισαι {VAR2: [παντας] } τις η οικονομια του μυστηριου του αποκεκρυμμενου απο των αιωνων εν τω θεω τω τα παντα κτισαντι (aiōn g165)

so that I will bring to light for everyone the plan—the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things. (aiōn g165)

10 ινα γνωρισθη νυν ταις αρχαις και ταις εξουσιαις εν τοις επουρανιοις δια της εκκλησιας η πολυποικιλος σοφια του θεου

This plan was made known through the church so the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places would come to know the many-sided nature of the wisdom of God.

11 κατα προθεσιν των αιωνων ην εποιησεν εν τω χριστω ιησου τω κυριω ημων (aiōn g165)

This happened according to the eternal plan that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. (aiōn g165)

12 εν ω εχομεν την παρρησιαν και προσαγωγην εν πεποιθησει δια της πιστεως αυτου

For in Christ we have boldness and access with confidence because of our faith in him.

13 διο αιτουμαι μη εγκακειν εν ταις θλιψεσιν μου υπερ υμων ητις εστιν δοξα υμων

Therefore I ask you not to be discouraged because of what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.

14 τουτου χαριν καμπτω τα γονατα μου προς τον πατερα

For this reason I bend my knees to the Father,

15 εξ ου πασα πατρια εν ουρανοις και επι γης ονομαζεται

from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named.

16 ινα δω υμιν κατα το πλουτος της δοξης αυτου δυναμει κραταιωθηναι δια του πνευματος αυτου εις τον εσω ανθρωπον

I pray that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power through his Spirit, who is in you.

17 κατοικησαι τον χριστον δια της πιστεως εν ταις καρδιαις υμων εν αγαπη ερριζωμενοι και τεθεμελιωμενοι εν αγαπη ερριζωμενοι και τεθεμελιωμενοι

I pray that Christ may live in your hearts through faith, that you will be rooted and grounded in his love.

18 ινα εξισχυσητε καταλαβεσθαι συν πασιν τοις αγιοις τι το πλατος και μηκος και υψος και βαθος

May you have strength so you can understand, along with all the believers, what is the width, the length, the height, and the depth,

19 γνωναι τε την υπερβαλλουσαν της γνωσεως αγαπην του χριστου ινα πληρωθητε εις παν το πληρωμα του θεου

and that you may know the love of Christ, which goes beyond knowledge, and that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 τω δε δυναμενω υπερ παντα ποιησαι υπερ εκπερισσου ων αιτουμεθα η νοουμεν κατα την δυναμιν την ενεργουμενην εν ημιν

Now to him who is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think, according to his power that works in us,

21 αυτω η δοξα εν τη εκκλησια και εν χριστω ιησου εις πασας τας γενεας του αιωνος των αιωνων αμην (aiōn g165)

to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
