Κατα Λουκαν 8
1 Και μετά ταύτα διήρχετο αυτός πάσαν πόλιν και κώμην, κηρύττων και ευαγγελιζόμενος την βασιλείαν του Θεού, και οι δώδεκα ήσαν μετ' αυτού,
AND it came to pass afterwards, that he went through every city and village, preaching and publishing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God, and the twelve with him.
2 και γυναίκες τινές, αίτινες ήσαν τεθεραπευμέναι από πνευμάτων πονηρών και ασθενειών, Μαρία η καλουμένη Μαγδαληνή, εκ της οποίας είχον εκβή επτά δαιμόνια,
And certain women who had been cured of evil spirits and sicknesses, Mary called Magdalene, from whom seven devils had gone out.
3 και Ιωάννα η γυνή του Χουζά, επιτρόπου του Ηρώδου, και Σουσάννα και άλλαι πολλαί, αίτινες διηκόνουν αυτόν από των υπαρχόντων αυτών.
And Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s lieutenant-governor, and Susanna, and many others, who ministred to his support out of their possessions.
4 Επειδή δε συνέτρεχεν όχλος πολύς και ήρχοντο προς αυτόν από πάσης πόλεως, είπε διά παραβολής·
Now when a vast multitude was collected, even those who came to him out of every city, he spake by a parable.
5 Εξήλθεν ο σπείρων, διά να σπείρη τον σπόρον αυτού. Και ενώ έσπειρεν, άλλο μεν έπεσε παρά την οδόν και κατεπατήθη, και τα πετεινά του ουρανού κατέφαγον αυτό·
A sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell by the road side, and was trodden under foot, and the birds of the air devoured it up.
6 άλλο δε έπεσεν επί την πέτραν και αναφυέν εξηράνθη, διότι δεν είχεν ικμάδα·
And other seed fell on a rock, and vegetating, withered because it had no moisture.
7 και άλλο έπεσεν εις το μέσον των ακανθών, και συμφυτρώσασαι αι άκανθαι απέπνιξαν αυτό·
And other seed fell amidst thorns, and the thorns springing up with it, choked it.
8 και άλλο έπεσεν επί την γην την αγαθήν, και αναφυέν έκαμε καρπόν εκατονταπλασίονα. Ταύτα λέγων, εφώναζεν· Ο έχων ώτα διά να ακούη, ας ακούη.
And some fell on good ground, and shooting up, produced fruit an hundred fold. So saying, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9 Ηρώτων δε αυτόν οι μαθηταί αυτού, λέγοντες· Τι σημαίνει η παραβολή αύτη;
Then his disciples asked him, saying. What might this parable mean?
10 Ο δε είπεν· Εις εσάς εδόθη να γνωρίσητε τα μυστήρια της βασιλείας του Θεού, εις δε τους λοιπούς διά παραβολών, διά να μη βλέπωσιν ενώ βλέπουσι και να μη καταλαμβάνωσιν ενώ ακούουσιν.
And he said, To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God; but to the rest in parables: that seeing they may not perceive, and hearing may not comprehend.
11 Αύτη δε είναι η παραβολή· Ο σπόρος είναι ο λόγος του Θεού·
Now this is the parable: The seed is the word of God.
12 οι δε σπειρόμενοι παρά την οδόν είναι οι ακούοντες, έπειτα έρχεται ο διάβολος και αφαιρεί τον λόγον από της καρδίας αυτών, διά να μη πιστεύσωσι και σωθώσιν.
They by the road side, are such as hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh the word from their heart, that they should not be saved in believing.
13 Οι δε επί της πέτρας είναι εκείνοι οίτινες, όταν ακούσωσι, μετά χαράς δέχονται τον λόγον, και ούτοι ρίζαν δεν έχουσιν, οίτινες προς καιρόν πιστεύουσι και εν καιρώ πειρασμού αποστατούσι.
And they on the rock, are such as when they have heard, with joy embrace the word; and these have not root, who for a time believe, and in a season of trial apostasize.
14 Το δε πεσόν εις τας ακάνθας, ούτοι είναι εκείνοι οίτινες ήκουσαν, και υπό μεριμνών και πλούτου και ηδονών του βίου υπάγουσι και συμπνίγονται και δεν τελεσφορούσι.
And that which fell among thorns, are they having heard, and going away, are choked by the cares, and wealth, and pleasures of life, and bring forth no perfect fruit.
15 Το δε εις την καλήν γην, ούτοι είναι εκείνοι, οίτινες ακούσαντες τον λόγον, κρατούσιν εν καρδία καλή και αγαθή και καρποφορούσιν εν υπομονή.
But that on the good ground are they who having heard the word, retain it in a heart excellent and good, and bring forth fruit with patience.
16 Ουδείς δε λύχνον ανάψας, σκεπάζει αυτόν με σκεύος και θέτει υποκάτω κλίνης, αλλά θέτει επί του λυχνοστάτου, διά να βλέπωσι το φως οι εισερχόμενοι.
No man lighting a lamp hides it with a cover, or putteth it under a bed, but on a stand, that they who are coming in, may see the light.
17 Διότι δεν υπάρχει κρυπτόν, το οποίον δεν θέλει γείνει φανερόν; ουδέ απόκρυφον, το οποίον δεν θέλει γείνει γνωστόν και ελθεί εις το φανερόν.
For there is nothing hid which shall not be made manifest, nor concealed, which shall not be known and brought to light.
18 Προσέχετε λοιπόν πως ακούετε· διότι όστις έχει, θέλει δοθή εις αυτόν, και όστις δεν έχει, και εκείνο το οποίον νομίζει ότι έχει θέλει αφαιρεθή απ' αυτού.
Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, even what he seemeth to have shall be taken away from.
19 Ήλθον δε προς αυτόν η μήτηρ και οι αδελφοί αυτού και δεν ηδύναντο διά τον όχλον να πλησιάσωσιν αυτόν.
Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come near him because of the crowd.
20 Και απηγγέλθη προς αυτόν υπό τινών λεγόντων· Η μήτηρ σου και οι αδελφοί σου ίστανται έξω θέλοντες να σε ίδωσιν.
And it was told him, saying, Thy mother and thy brethren are standing without, desirous of seeing thee.
21 Ο δε αποκριθείς είπε προς αυτούς· Μήτηρ μου και αδελφοί μου είναι ούτοι, οι ακούοντες τον λόγον του Θεού και πράττοντες αυτόν.
Then he answered and said to them, My mother and my brethren are they, who hear the word of God, and practise it.
22 Και εν μιά των ημερών εισήλθεν εις πλοίον αυτός και οι μαθηταί αυτού, και είπε προς αυτούς· Ας διέλθωμεν εις το πέραν της λίμνης· και εσηκώθησαν.
And it came to pass on one of the days, that he went himself into a ship, and his disciples, and said unto them, Let us pass over to the farther side of the lake. And they set fail.
23 Ενώ δε έπλεον, απεκοιμήθη. Και κατέβη ανεμοστρόβιλος εις την λίμνην, και εγεμίζετο το πλοίον και εκινδύνευον.
And while they were on the passage, he went to sleep: and a hurricane of wind rushed down on the lake; and they were filled with water, and imminent danger.
24 Προσελθόντες δε εξύπνησαν αυτόν, λέγοντες· Επιστάτα, Επιστάτα, χανόμεθα. Ο δε σηκωθείς επετίμησε τον άνεμον και την ταραχήν του ύδατος, και έπαυσαν, και έγεινε γαλήνη.
Then they came and awoke him, saying, Master, Master, we are perishing. Then arising, he issued his command to the wind, and the billows of water, and they subsided, and there was a calm.
25 Είπε δε προς αυτούς, που είναι η πίστις σας; Και φοβηθέντες εθαύμασαν, λέγοντες προς αλλήλους· Τις λοιπόν είναι ούτος, ότι και τους ανέμους προστάζει και το ύδωρ, και υπακούουσιν εις αυτόν;
And he said to them, Where is your faith? And they feared and were astonished, saying one to another, Well! what a man is this! that he commands even the winds and the sea, and they obey him.
26 Και κατέπλευσαν εις την χώραν των Γαδαρηνών, ήτις είναι αντιπέραν της Γαλιλαίας.
And they sailed over unto the region of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.
27 Και καθώς εξήλθεν επί την γην, υπήντησεν αυτόν άνθρωπός τις εκ της πόλεως, όστις είχε δαιμόνια από χρόνων πολλών, και ιμάτιον δεν ενεδύετο και εν οικία δεν έμενεν, αλλ' εν τοις μνήμασιν.
And as he landed, there met him a certain man from the city, who had devils for a long while, and kept no clothes on him, and never abode in a house, but in the tombs.
28 Ιδών δε τον Ιησούν, ανέκραξε και προσέπεσεν εις αυτόν και μετά φωνής μεγάλης είπε· Τι είναι μεταξύ εμού και σου, Ιησού, Υιέ του Θεού του Υψίστου; δέομαί σου, μη με βασανίσης.
But when he saw Jesus, roaring out, he fell down before him, and said with a loud voice, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God Most High? I pray thee, torment me not.
29 Διότι προσέταξεν εις το πνεύμα το ακάθαρτον να εξέλθη από του ανθρώπου. Επειδή προ πολλών χρόνων είχε συναρπάσει αυτόν, και εδεσμεύετο με αλύσεις και εφυλάττετο με ποδόδεσμα και διασπών τα δεσμά, εφέρετο υπό του δαίμονος εις τας ερήμους.
For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man; for many times it had seized on him; and though under a guard, and bound with chains and fetters; yet bursting the bonds, he was driven by the devil into the desert places.
30 Και ηρώτησεν αυτόν ο Ιησούς, λέγων· Τι είναι το όνομά σου; Ο δε είπε· Λεγεών· διότι δαιμόνια πολλά εισήλθον εις αυτόν·
Then Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? and he said, Legion: for many devils were entered into him.
And he besought him that he would not order them to go into the abyss. (Abyssos g12)
32 Ήτο δε εκεί αγέλη χοίρων πολλών βοσκομένων εν τω όρει· και παρεκάλουν αυτόν να επιτρέψη εις αυτά να εισέλθωσιν εις εκείνους· και επέτρεψεν εις αυτά.
Now a herd of many swine was there feeding on the mountain; and they besought him that he would permit them to enter into them. And he permitted them.
33 Εξελθόντα δε τα δαιμόνια από του ανθρώπου, εισήλθον εις τους χοίρους, και ώρμησεν η αγέλη κατά του κρημνού εις την λίμνην και απεπνίγη.
Then the devils going out of the man, entered into the swine; and the herd rushed down a precipice into the lake, and was suffocated.
34 Ιδόντες δε οι βοσκοί το γενόμενον έφυγον, και απελθόντες απήγγειλαν εις την πόλιν και εις τους αγρούς.
But when those who fed them saw what was done they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country places.
35 Και εξήλθον διά να ίδωσι το γεγονός, και ήλθον προς τον Ιησούν και εύρον τον άνθρωπον, εκ του οποίου είχον εξέλθει τα δαιμόνια, καθήμενον παρά τους πόδας του Ιησού, ενδεδυμένον και σωφρονούντα· και εφοβήθησαν.
And they came out to see what had happened; and they came to Jesus, and found the man sitting, from whom the devils were gone out, clothed, and in his sound mind, at the feet of Jesus; and they were afraid.
36 Διηγήθησαν δε προς αυτούς και οι ιδόντες πως εσώθη ο δαιμονιζόμενος.
Then they also who had seen how the demoniac was recovered, told them.
37 Και άπαν το πλήθος της περιχώρου των Γαδαρηνών παρεκάλεσαν αυτόν να αναχωρήση απ' αυτών, διότι κατείχοντο υπό μεγάλου φόβου, αυτός δε εμβάς εις το πλοίον υπέστρεψεν.
And the whole multitude of the country around the Gadarenes, entreated him to depart from them; for they were seized with great terror: and he embarked on the vessel, and returned.
38 Ο δε άνθρωπος, εκ του οποίου είχον εξέλθει τα δαιμόνια, παρεκάλει αυτόν να ήναι μετ' αυτού· ο Ιησούς όμως απέλυσεν αυτόν, λέγων.
And the man out of whom the devils had gone, besought him to be with him; but Jesus sent him away, saying,
39 Επίστρεψον εις τον οίκόν σου και διηγού όσα έκαμεν εις σε ο Θεός· και ανεχώρησε κηρύττων καθ' όλην την πόλιν όσα έκαμεν εις αυτόν ο Ιησούς.
Return to thy house, and declare what things God hath done for thee. And he went away, and published through the whole city what things Jesus had done for him.
40 Ότε δε υπέστρεψεν ο Ιησούς, υπεδέχθη αυτόν ο όχλος· διότι πάντες ήσαν περιμένοντες αυτόν.
And it came to pass, when Jesus returned, the people welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him.
41 Και ιδού, ήλθεν άνθρωπος ονομαζόμενος Ιάειρος, όστις ήτο άρχων της συναγωγής και πεσών εις τους πόδας του Ιησού, παρεκάλει αυτόν να εισέλθη εις τον οίκον αυτού,
And, behold, there came a man whose name was Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and falling at the feet of Jesus, he entreated him to come to his house;
42 διότι είχε θυγατέρα μονογενή ως ετών δώδεκα, και αύτη απέθνησκεν. Ενώ δε επορεύετο, οι όχλοι συνέθλιβον αυτόν.
for he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying: and as he was going, the multitude thronged him.
43 Και γυνή τις έχουσα ρύσιν αίματος δώδεκα έτη, ήτις δαπανήσασα εις ιατρούς όλον τον βίον αυτής δεν ηδυνήθη να θεραπευθή υπ' ουδενός,
And a woman, who had a flux of blood, for twelve years, who had spent all her substance on physicians, and could not get a cure from any;
44 πλησιάσασα όπισθεν ήγγισε το άκρον του ιματίου αυτού, και παρευθύς εστάθη η ρύσις του αίματος αυτής.
coming behind him, touched the fringe of his garment; and instantly the flux of her blood stopped.
45 Και είπεν ο Ιησούς· Τις μου ήγγισε; και ενώ ηρνούντο πάντες, είπεν ο Πέτρος και οι μετ' αυτού· Επιστάτα, οι όχλοι σε συμπιέζουσι και σε συνθλίβουσι, και λέγεις· Τις μου ήγγισεν;
And Jesus said, Who touched me? And when all denied, Peter, and those who were with him, said, Master, the multitudes throng and press thee, and sayest thou, Who hath touched me?
46 Ο δε Ιησούς είπε· Μου ήγγισέ τις· διότι εγώ ενόησα ότι εξήλθε δύναμις απ' εμού.
Then said Jesus, Some person hath touched me, for I know that miraculous power is gone out from me.
47 Ιδούσα δε η γυνή ότι δεν εκρύφθη, ήλθε τρέμουσα και προσπεσούσα εις αυτόν, απήγγειλε προς αυτόν ενώπιον παντός του λαού διά ποίαν αιτίαν ήγγισεν αυτόν, και ότι παρευθύς ιατρεύθη.
Then the woman seeing she was not hid, came trembling, and falling down before him, declared to him before all the people, for what cause she had touched him; and how she was cured instantaneously.
48 Ο δε είπε προς αυτήν· Θάρρει, θύγατερ, η πίστις σου σε έσωσεν· ύπαγε εις ειρήνην.
Then he said unto her, Be of good cheer, daughter, thy faith hath made thee well; go in peace.
49 Ενώ δε ελάλει έτι, έρχεταί τις παρά του αρχισυναγώγου, λέγων προς αυτόν ότι απέθανεν η θυγάτηρ σου· μη ενόχλει τον Διδάσκαλον.
And while he was yet speaking, a person came to the ruler of the synagogue, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead, give the master no further trouble.
50 Ο δε Ιησούς ακούσας απεκρίθη προς αυτόν, λέγων· Μη φοβού· μόνον πίστευε, και θέλει σωθή.
Then Jesus hearing it, addressed him, saying, Fear not, only believe, and she shall be saved.
51 Και ότε εισήλθεν εις την οικίαν, δεν αφήκεν ουδένα να εισέλθη ειμή τον Πέτρον και Ιάκωβον και Ιωάννην και τον πατέρα της κόρης και την μητέρα.
And entering into the house, he suffered no person to come in, but Peter, and James, and John, and the father and mother of the child.
52 Έκλαιον δε πάντες και εθρήνουν αυτήν. Ο δε είπε· Μη κλαίετε· δεν απέθανεν, αλλά κοιμάται.
Now all were weeping and lamenting her: and he said, Weep not, she is not dead, but asleep.
53 Και κατεγέλων αυτόν, εξεύροντες ότι απέθανεν.
And they derided him, for they knew that she was dead.
54 Αλλ' αυτός εκβαλών έξω πάντας και πιάσας την χείρα αυτής, εφώναξε λέγων· Κοράσιον, σηκώθητι.
And he put them all without, and taking her by the hand, cried, saying, Maid, arise!
55 Και υπέστρεψε το πνεύμα αυτής, και ανέστη παρευθύς, και προσέταξε να δοθή εις αυτήν να φάγη.
And her spirit returned, and she immediately arose; and he commanded to give her something to eat.
56 Και εξεπλάγησαν οι γονείς αυτής. Ο δε παρήγγειλεν εις αυτούς να μη είπωσιν εις μηδένα το γεγονός.
And her parents were struck with amazement. But he enjoined them to tell no man what was done.
