Προς Φιλιππησιους 1

1 παυλοσ και τιμοθεοσ δουλοι ιησου χριστου πασιν τοισ αγιοισ εν χριστω ιησου τοισ ουσιν εν φιλιπποισ συν επισκοποισ και διακονοισ

Paul and Timothy servants of Christ Jesus To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are being in Philippi with [the] overseers and deacons:

2 χαρισ υμιν και ειρηνη απο θεου πατροσ ημων και κυριου ιησου χριστου

Grace to you and peace from God Father of us and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

3 ευχαριστω τω θεω μου επι παση τη μνεια υμων

I thank the God of mine upon every the remembrance of you

4 παντοτε εν παση δεησει μου υπερ παντων υμων μετα χαρασ την δεησιν ποιουμενοσ

always in every supplication of mine for all of you with joy the supplication making

5 επι τη κοινωνια υμων εισ το ευαγγελιον απο πρωτησ ημερασ αχρι του νυν

for the partnership of you in the gospel from (the *no) first day until now;

6 πεποιθωσ αυτο τουτο οτι ο εναρξαμενοσ εν υμιν εργον αγαθον επιτελεσει αχρι ημερασ χριστου ιησου

having been persuaded of [the] very thing this, that the [One] having begun in you a work good will complete [it] until [the] day of Christ Jesus;

7 καθωσ εστιν δικαιον εμοι τουτο φρονειν υπερ παντων υμων δια το εχειν με εν τη καρδια υμασ εν τε τοισ δεσμοισ μου και εν τη απολογια και βεβαιωσει του ευαγγελιου συγκοινωνουσ μου τησ χαριτοσ παντασ υμασ οντασ

Even as it is right for me myself this to feel about all of you since having I in the heart you, in both the chains of mine and in the defense and in confirmation of the gospel fellow partakers with me of grace all you are.

8 μαρτυσ γαρ μου εστιν ο θεοσ ωσ επιποθω παντασ υμασ εν σπλαγχνοισ ιησου χριστου

Witness for of mine (is *k) God how I long after all you in [the] affection of Christ Jesus.

9 και τουτο προσευχομαι ινα η αγαπη υμων ετι μαλλον και μαλλον περισσευη εν επιγνωσει και παση αισθησει

And this I pray, that the love of you yet more and more may abound in knowledge and in all discernment

10 εισ το δοκιμαζειν υμασ τα διαφεροντα ινα ητε ειλικρινεισ και απροσκοποι εισ ημεραν χριστου

for to approve you the [things] being excellent, so that you may be pure and blameless unto [the] day of Christ

11 πεπληρωμενοι καρπων δικαιοσυνησ των δια ιησου χριστου εισ δοξαν και επαινον θεου

filled (with [the] fruit *N+KO) of righteousness (that [is] *N+kO) through Jesus Christ to [the] glory and praise of God.

12 γινωσκειν δε υμασ βουλομαι αδελφοι οτι τα κατ εμε μαλλον εισ προκοπην του ευαγγελιου εληλυθεν

To know now you I want, brothers, that the [things] concerning me myself really to [the] advancement of the gospel have turned out,

13 ωστε τουσ δεσμουσ μου φανερουσ εν χριστω γενεσθαι εν ολω τω πραιτωριω και τοισ λοιποισ πασιν

so as for the chains of mine clearly known in Christ to have become in all the palace guard and to the rest all

14 και τουσ πλειονασ των αδελφων εν κυριω πεποιθοτασ τοισ δεσμοισ μου περισσοτερωσ τολμαν αφοβωσ τον λογον λαλειν

and most of the brothers in [the] Lord already trusting by the chains of mine more abundantly to dare fearlessly the word (of the God *O) to speak.

15 τινεσ μεν και δια φθονον και εριν τινεσ δε και δι ευδοκιαν τον χριστον κηρυσσουσιν

Some indeed even from envy and strife, some however also from goodwill Christ are proclaiming.

16 οι μεν εξ εριθειασ τον χριστον καταγγελλουσιν ουχ αγνωσ οιομενοι θλιψιν επιφερειν τοισ δεσμοισ μου

the [ones] indeed out of love knowing that for defense of the gospel I am appointed;

17 οι δε εξ αγαπησ ειδοτεσ οτι εισ απολογιαν του ευαγγελιου κειμαι

the [ones] however out of selfish ambition Christ are proclaiming not purely supposing tribulation (to add *N+kO) to the chains of mine.

18 τι γαρ πλην παντι τροπω ειτε προφασει ειτε αληθεια χριστοσ καταγγελλεται και εν τουτω χαιρω αλλα και χαρησομαι

What then? Only (that *no) in every way whether in pretext or in truth Christ is proclaimed, And in this I rejoice Yes and I will rejoice.

19 οιδα γαρ οτι τουτο μοι αποβησεται εισ σωτηριαν δια τησ υμων δεησεωσ και επιχορηγιασ του πνευματοσ ιησου χριστου

I know for that this for me will turn out to deliverance through your prayer and [the] provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ

20 κατα την αποκαραδοκιαν και ελπιδα μου οτι εν ουδενι αισχυνθησομαι αλλ εν παση παρρησια ωσ παντοτε και νυν μεγαλυνθησεται χριστοσ εν τω σωματι μου ειτε δια ζωησ ειτε δια θανατου

according to the earnest expectation and hope of mine that in no [thing] I will be ashamed but in all boldness as always also now will be magnified Christ in the body of mine, whether through life or through death.

21 εμοι γαρ το ζην χριστοσ και το αποθανειν κερδοσ

To me myself for to live [is] Christ and to die [is] gain.

22 ει δε το ζην εν σαρκι τουτο μοι καρποσ εργου και τι αιρησομαι ου γνωριζω

If [I am] however to live in flesh, this for me [is the] fruit of labor; And what will I choose Not I know!

23 συνεχομαι δε εκ των δυο την επιθυμιαν εχων εισ το αναλυσαι και συν χριστω ειναι πολλω μαλλον κρεισσον

I am pressed (now *N+kO) between the two, the desire having for [myself] to depart and with Christ to be, very much (for *no) more better;

24 το δε επιμενειν εν τη σαρκι αναγκαιοτερον δι υμασ

but to remain in the flesh [is] more necessary for the sake of you.

25 και τουτο πεποιθωσ οιδα οτι μενω και συμπαραμενω πασιν υμιν εισ την υμων προκοπην και χαραν τησ πιστεωσ

And this having been persuaded of I know that I will remain and (will continue *N+kO) with all of you for your progress and joy of the faith,

26 ινα το καυχημα υμων περισσευη εν χριστω ιησου εν εμοι δια τησ εμησ παρουσιασ παλιν προσ υμασ

so that the boasting of you may abound to Christ Jesus in me myself through my coming again to you.

27 μονον αξιωσ του ευαγγελιου του χριστου πολιτευεσθε ινα ειτε ελθων και ιδων υμασ ειτε απων ακουσω τα περι υμων οτι στηκετε εν ενι πνευματι μια ψυχη συναθλουντεσ τη πιστει του ευαγγελιου

Only worthily of the gospel of Christ do conduct yourselves, so that whether having come and having seen you or being absent (I shall hear *N+kO) the [things] concerning you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,

28 και μη πτυρομενοι εν μηδενι υπο των αντικειμενων ητισ αυτοισ μεν εστιν ενδειξισ απωλειασ υμιν δε σωτηριασ και τουτο απο θεου

and not being frightened in nothing by those opposing [you]; which is to them (indeed *k) a demonstration of destruction, (to you *N+kO) however of salvation, and this from God;

29 οτι υμιν εχαρισθη το υπερ χριστου ου μονον το εισ αυτον πιστευειν αλλα και το υπερ αυτου πασχειν

For to you it has been granted concerning Christ, not only in Him to believe, but also concerning Him to suffer

30 τον αυτον αγωνα εχοντεσ οιον ειδετε εν εμοι και νυν ακουετε εν εμοι

the same conflict having such as (you saw *N+kO) in me myself and now you hear of in me myself.
