Προς Εφεσιους 6

1 τα τεκνα υπακουετε τοισ γονευσιν υμων εν κυριω τουτο γαρ εστιν δικαιον

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

2 τιμα τον πατερα σου και την μητερα ητισ εστιν εντολη πρωτη εν επαγγελια

"Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise:

3 ινα ευ σοι γενηται και εση μακροχρονιοσ επι τησ γησ

"that it may be well with you, and that you may live long in the land."

4 και οι πατερεσ μη παροργιζετε τα τεκνα υμων αλλ εκτρεφετε αυτα εν παιδεια και νουθεσια κυριου

And fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

5 οι δουλοι υπακουετε τοισ κυριοισ κατα σαρκα μετα φοβου και τρομου εν απλοτητι τησ καρδιασ υμων ωσ τω χριστω

Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ;

6 μη κατ οφθαλμοδουλειαν ωσ ανθρωπαρεσκοι αλλ ωσ δουλοι του χριστου ποιουντεσ το θελημα του θεου εκ ψυχησ

not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as people-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

7 μετ ευνοιασ δουλευοντεσ ωσ τω κυριω και ουκ ανθρωποισ

with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to people;

8 ειδοτεσ οτι ο εαν τι εκαστοσ ποιηση αγαθον τουτο κομιειται παρα του κυριου ειτε δουλοσ ειτε ελευθεροσ

knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free.

9 και οι κυριοι τα αυτα ποιειτε προσ αυτουσ ανιεντεσ την απειλην ειδοτεσ οτι και υμων αυτων ο κυριοσ εστιν εν ουρανοισ και προσωποληψια ουκ εστιν παρ αυτω

You masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with him.

10 το λοιπον αδελφοι μου ενδυναμουσθε εν κυριω και εν τω κρατει τησ ισχυοσ αυτου

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.

11 ενδυσασθε την πανοπλιαν του θεου προσ το δυνασθαι υμασ στηναι προσ τασ μεθοδειασ του διαβολου

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

12 οτι ουκ εστιν ημιν η παλη προσ αιμα και σαρκα αλλα προσ τασ αρχασ προσ τασ εξουσιασ προσ τουσ κοσμοκρατορασ του σκοτουσ του αιωνοσ τουτου προσ τα πνευματικα τησ πονηριασ εν τοισ επουρανιοισ (aiōn g165)

For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world's rulers of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (aiōn g165)

13 δια τουτο αναλαβετε την πανοπλιαν του θεου ινα δυνηθητε αντιστηναι εν τη ημερα τη πονηρα και απαντα κατεργασαμενοι στηναι

Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.

14 στητε ουν περιζωσαμενοι την οσφυν υμων εν αληθεια και ενδυσαμενοι τον θωρακα τησ δικαιοσυνησ

Stand therefore, having the belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15 και υποδησαμενοι τουσ ποδασ εν ετοιμασια του ευαγγελιου τησ ειρηνησ

and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace;

16 επι πασιν αναλαβοντεσ τον θυρεον τησ πιστεωσ εν ω δυνησεσθε παντα τα βελη του πονηρου τα πεπυρωμενα σβεσαι

above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.

17 και την περικεφαλαιαν του σωτηριου δεξασθαι και την μαχαιραν του πνευματοσ ο εστιν ρημα θεου

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the spoken word of God;

18 δια πασησ προσευχησ και δεησεωσ προσευχομενοι εν παντι καιρω εν πνευματι και εισ αυτο τουτο αγρυπνουντεσ εν παση προσκαρτερησει και δεησει περι παντων των αγιων

with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints:

19 και υπερ εμου ινα μοι δοθη λογοσ εν ανοιξει του στοματοσ μου εν παρρησια γνωρισαι το μυστηριον του ευαγγελιου

on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News,

20 υπερ ου πρεσβευω εν αλυσει ινα εν αυτω παρρησιασωμαι ωσ δει με λαλησαι

for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

21 ινα δε ειδητε και υμεισ τα κατ εμε τι πρασσω παντα υμιν γνωρισει τυχικοσ ο αγαπητοσ αδελφοσ και πιστοσ διακονοσ εν κυριω

But that you also may know my affairs, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make known to you all things;

22 ον επεμψα προσ υμασ εισ αυτο τουτο ινα γνωτε τα περι ημων και παρακαλεση τασ καρδιασ υμων

whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may know our state, and that he may comfort your hearts.

23 ειρηνη τοισ αδελφοισ και αγαπη μετα πιστεωσ απο θεου πατροσ και κυριου ιησου χριστου

Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

24 η χαρισ μετα παντων των αγαπωντων τον κυριον ημων ιησουν χριστον εν αφθαρσια αμην

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.
