Luka 9
1 Jesu den yini ki taani bi piiga n niliediba ki puni ba u paalu leni li bali ban ya paani mu cicibiadimu kuli ki go paagidi bi niba ban yia ya yianbuoli kuli.
Jesus called the twelve disciples together. He gave them power and authority over all demons, and the ability to heal diseases.
2 O den soani ba ke ban ya wangi U Tienu diema maama, ki go ya paagidi a yiama moko.
Then he sent them out to proclaim God's kingdom and to heal the sick.
3 O den yedi ba: “Yin da taa liba li sancenli po, baa gbiamu, baa sancenboagili, baa jiema, baa ligi, ki da taa liada lie mo.
“Take nothing with you for the journey,” he told them. “No staff, no bag, no bread, no money, not even any extra clothes.
4 Yin kua ya diegu nni kuli, yin ya ye lankani ŋali yin baa fii.
Whatever house you enter, stay there, and when you leave, leave from there.
5 Bi yaa tuo ki ga yi cangu naankani kuli, yi ya ña laa dogu nni ya yogunu, yin kpia ba yi taatama, lan tua seedi bi yiema po.”
If people refuse to accept you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave town as a warning against them.”
6 Lani bi ŋoadikaaba den fii ki gedi ki goagoadi i dowaali nni ki wangi o laabaaliŋamo, ki paagidi a yiama i kaani kuli.
They left and went around the villages, announcing the good news and healing everywhere they went.
7 Elodo yua n den die Galile diema den gbadi yaala n tieni kuli, o yama den lengidi kelima bi tianba den tua ke Jan Batisi fii bi tinkpiba siiga,
Herod the tetrarch had heard about all that was happening, and he was very puzzled. Some were saying that John had been raised from the dead;
8 bine mo n ya tua ke o sawalipualo Elia n go doagidi o yuli, bine mo ke bi sawalipuaba siiga yendo n fii bi tinkpiba siiga.
others that Elijah had appeared; still others that one of the ancient prophets had come back to life.
9 Wani Elodo mo den tua: “N den teni ke bi jia Jan yuli, Lanwani min gba ke bi maadi yua yaapo li naabonla kuli tie ŋme?” O den moandi ki baa la o.
Herod said, “There's no question I beheaded John. So who is this man? I'm hearing all these things about him.” And he tried to find a way to meet Jesus.
10 Jesu tondiba den guani o kani ki togidi o ban tieni yaala kuli. Lani o den taaba bi bebe ke bi gedi Batisayida dogu kunu po.
When the apostles returned they reported to Jesus what they had done. Then he left with them and went to a town called Bethsaida.
11 A nigola den bandi ki ŋoadi o. Jesu den biali ba, ki waani ba U Tienu diema maama ki go paagi yaaba n ki pa.
However, the crowds found out where he was going and followed him there. He welcomed them and explained the kingdom of God to them, and healed those who needed healing.
12 Ki yenga n den bua ki kua, bi piiga n niliediba den nagini Jesu kani ki yedi o: “Cabi ku niligu ban yadi ki gedi ya dobila leni ya koajaana n kuu, ki ban baa u duankaanu leni li bonjekaala, kelima tin ye naani ne tie fuali.”
Late in the day, the twelve disciples came to him and said, “You should send the crowd away now so they can go to the villages and farms nearby and find a place to stay and food to eat—there's nothing here where we are.”

“You give them something to eat!” said Jesus. “All we have here are five loaves and two fish—unless you want us to go and buy food for everyone,” they said.
14 Kelima bi jaba bebe den bua ki pundi tudamuu. Jesu den yedi o ŋoadi kaaba: “Teni mani ban boagidi nani niba piimuu muu yeni, ki kali caga caga.”
There were about five thousand men present. “Sit them down in groups of about fifty,” he told his disciples.
15 Bi den tieni yeni ki kaani bi niba kuli.
The disciples did so, and everybody sat down.
16 Jesu den taa bi dupenmuudiba leni i janliedi yeni, ki yaadi ki noanli tanpoli ki jaandi ki seligi la. Lani o den cabidi cabidi ki teni o ŋoadikaaba ban boagidi ku niligu.
Jesus picked up the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed the food and broke it into pieces. He kept on giving the food to the disciples to share with the people.
17 Yua kuli den dini ki guo. Bi den wodi ban dini ki sieni yaala ki gbieni piiga n baabuodi lie leni a boncaba.
Everybody ate until they were full, and then twelve baskets of leftovers were collected.
18 Dayenli Jesu den piadi ki jaandi ke o ŋoadikaaba bebe den ye leni o. O den buali ba: “A nigola tua ke n tie ŋme?”
At another time, when Jesus was praying in private with just his disciples with him, he asked them, “All these crowds of people—who do they say I am?”
19 Bi den goa ki yedi o: “Boncianla tua ke a tie Jan Batisi, bine Elia, bine mo ke bi sawalipuaba siiga nni yendo n fii bi tinkpiba siiga.”
“Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and still others say one of the ancient prophets risen from the dead,” they replied.
20 O den yedi ba: “Yi mo te, yi mo nan yedi ke n tie ŋme yo? “Pieli den goa ki yedi o: “A tie UTienu n Gandi yua.”
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” “God's Messiah,” Peter replied.
21 Jesu den maadi leni li bali ki yedi ke ban da waani la niloba kuli.
Jesus gave them strict orders not to tell anybody about this.
22 O go den yedi ke li tie tiladi o Ja Bijua n la fala boncianla, ke Jufinba nikpeliba leni bi Kopadicianba yudanba leni leni li balimaama bangikaaba n yie o, ki kpa o. Ama ke li dataali daali o baa fii bi tinkpiba siiga.
“The Son of man must experience terrible sufferings,” he said. “He will be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the religious teachers. He will be killed, but on the third day he will rise again.”
23 Lani Jesu den yedi bi niba kuli: “Yua n bua ki ya ŋua nni kuli, wan yie o yuli, ki bugi o dapoanpoanli daali kuli ki nan ya ŋua nni.
“If any one of you wants to follow me, you must deny yourself, pick up your cross daily, and follow me,” Jesus told all of them.
24 Kelima yua n bua ki ga miali kuli o baa biani li, ama yua n baa biani o miali kelima mini yaapo kuli baa faabi li.
“For if you want to save your life, you will lose it; and if you lose your life for my sake, you will save it.
25 O nilo ya ba ki diedi ŋanduna kuli ke o miali nan bodi, bi ki bolini o yuli, li baa ŋanbi o po be?
What do you benefit by gaining the whole world if you end up lost or destroyed?
26 Yua n jie i fe mini leni n maama kuli po, o Ja Bijua moko baa ti jie opo i fe o ya cua leni o kpiagidi leni Baa yaa kpiagidi ki yegi leni yaa malekinba n gagidi.
If you are ashamed of me and my message, the Son of man will be ashamed of you when he comes in his glory, and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.
27 N waani yi moamoani, yaaba n ye nakanba, bi tianba kan kpe kaa laa UTienu diema.”
I tell you the truth, some standing here won't taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”
28 Jesu n den maadi la maama ke dana nii pendi, o den taa Pieli leni Jan leni Jaka ki doni li juali po ki baa jaandi.
About eight days later, after he had told them this, Jesus took Peter, John, and James with him and went up a mountain to pray.
29 Wan den jaandi ya gogunu, o nunga n naani maama den lebidi, o tiayiekaadi moko den lebidi ki pendi ŋali ki ñuliti.
While he was praying, his face changed in appearance, and his clothing became a dazzling white.
30 Jaba lie den maadi leni o. Li den tie, Musa leni Elia, ke bi doagidi bi yula ke,
Two men appeared in brilliant glory. They were Moses and Elijah, and they began to talk with Jesus.

They spoke about his death, which would soon happen in Jerusalem.

Peter and the others were asleep. When they woke up they saw Jesus in his glory, and the two men standing next to him.
33 Bi jaba yeni n den baa ña Jesu kani ya yogunu, Pieli den yedi o: “Canbaa, li ŋani tin ya ye ne. Tin tieni diena taa, fini yenli, Musa yenli, Elia mo yenli.” Waa den bani wan maadi yaala.
As the two men were about to leave, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it's great to be here. Let's make some shelters: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” He really didn't know what he was saying.
34 Wan den maadi yeni ya yogunu, ku tawaligun den jiidi ki libini ba. Bi ŋoadikaaba n den laa ke bi kua kutawaligu nni, ti jawaandi den cuo ba.
While he was speaking a cloud came and spread over them. They were terrified as they entered the cloud.
35 U nialu den maadi kutawaligu nni ki yedi: “one n tie n Bijua, min gandi yua, cengi mami o.”
A voice spoke from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, the Chosen One. Listen to him!”
36 U nialu yeni n den maadi ki gbeni, bi sua ke Jesu ye o bebe. Bi ŋoadikaaba den muubi bi ñoana, baa togidi oba laa yogunu ban la yaala.
When the voice finished speaking, Jesus was there alone. They kept this to themselves, and didn't tell anyone at that time what they'd seen.
37 Lan den fii ki fa, bi den jiidsi li juali po, ya niligu n yaba den tuogi Jesu.
The next day, when they had come down the mountain, a huge crowd was waiting to meet Jesus.
38 O ja den kpaani ku nikigu siiga ki yeddi: “canbaa, n mia ŋa ŋan diidi npo n bi jua na, kelima o tie n bonjajenjenga.
A man in the crowd called out, “Teacher, please look at my son. He's my only child.
39 Ki cicibiadiga n fii opo ya yogunu kuli, lanyogunu liga o yen kuudi, kan yaa digin o leni u paalu kikpalini o leni ti ŋminsanpunpudi ki faligidi o. Ki ñama o niinni pa opo.
A spirit possesses him and he screams immediately. It sends him into convulsions and makes him foam at the mouth. It hardly ever leaves him alone and it causes him a lot of pain.
40 N bi mia a ŋoadikaaba ke ban deli ki ñani ga o kani, ke baa fidi.”
I begged your disciples to drive it out, but they couldn't.”
41 Jesu den goa ki yedi: “Yinba, yaa nibuolu n luo li dandan ki go bia, n baa taa ki ye leni yi ki go juuni yipo ki pundi u laa yogunu? Cuani a bijua na.”
“What an unbelieving and corrupt people you are! How long do I have to remain here with you, and put up with you?” said Jesus. “Bring your son here.”
42 Ki biga n den nagini Jesu kani ya yogunu, ki cicibiadiga den guli o ki go digini o leni u paalu. Jesu den funi leni ga, ki paagi ki biga, ki teni o o baa.
Even as the boy came over, the demon sent him into convulsions, throwing him to the ground. But Jesus intervened, rebuking the evil spirit and healing the boy, and then gave him back to his father.
43 U Tienu kpiagidi leni o paaciamu den paki yaaba n ye li kani kuli. Bi niba kuli n den laa Jesu n tieni yaala kuli ke li fangicianli leni li pakili cuo ba, o den yedi o ŋoadikaaba:
Everyone was amazed at this demonstration of God's power. However, even though everyone was amazed by all he did, Jesus warned his disciples,
44 “Yinba, yin diadi mani yi tuba ki cengi mi naa maama bonŋanla: Bi niba baa janbi o Ja Bijuaki teni o bi nisaaliba nuu nni.”
“Listen carefully to what I'm telling you: the Son of man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.”
45 Ama bi ŋoadikaaba ki den ga laa maama n bua ki yedi yaala. Li den duagi bipo ke ban da ga ma. Bi den jie, baa buali Jesu lipo.
But they didn't understand what this meant. Its meaning was hidden from them so they didn't realize its implications, and they were afraid to ask him about it.
46 Mi niama den fii bi ŋoadikaaba siiga, ke ban bandi bi siiga yua n tugi li yuli.
Then an argument started among the disciples about which of them was the greatest.
47 Jesu den bandi ban maliti yaala bi pala nni, ki taa ki biwaaga ki sieni o o kani
But Jesus, knowing what they were arguing about, picked up and placed a small child next to him.
48 ki yedi ba: “yua n ga ki naa biga n yeli nni ga mini nba yo, yua n ga mini mo, o ga yua n soani nni. Yi siiga yua n wa ki cie yikuli, wani n tugi li yuli.”
Then he said to them, “Anyone who accepts this little child in my name accepts me, and anyone who accepts me accepts the one who sent me. Whoever is least among you all is the greatest.”
49 Jan den yedi: “Canbaa, ti den la ya ja n deli mu cicibiadimu a yeli nni ke ti yie opo, kelima waa taani leni ti ki ŋua ŋa.”
John spoke up, saying, “Master, we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him because he wasn't one of us.”
50 Jesu den goa ki yedi o: “Da go yie mani opo ke wan da go tieni la, kelima yua n kaa yie yipo kuli taa yi po.”
“Don't stop him,” Jesus replied. “Anyone who isn't against you is for you.”
51 U yogunu n den nagini ke U Tienu baa ñani Jesu ŋanduna nni ki duoni o tanpoli, Jesu den jagi ki bili ke o baa gedi jelusalema.
As the time approached for him to ascend to heaven, Jesus was determined to go to Jerusalem.
52 O den soani bi tondiba ke bi kua o liiga. bi den gedi ki ban kua Samali doyendu nni ki baa lingi o po ku candiegu.
He sent messengers on ahead to a Samaritan village to get things ready for him.
53 Ama baa den tuo Jesu cangu, kelima wan caa jelusalema yeni yaapo.
But the people would not welcome him because he was determined to press on to Jerusalem.
54 O ŋoadikaaba Jaka leni Jan n den laa lani bi den yedi: “Ti Daano, a bua tin yedi mi fantama n ña tanpoli po ki bolini ba bi?”
When James and John saw this, they asked Jesus, “Master, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to burn them up?”
55 Jesu den jigidi ki noanli ba ki funi leni ba. kelima o Ja Bijua naa cua ki baa bolini bi nisaali miana ka, ama ki faabi ba yo.
But Jesus turned, and reprimanded them.
56 Bi den suagi liiga ki gedi dotogu.
Then they proceeded to another village.
57 Ban ye u sanu nni o nilo den yedi Jesu: “N baa ŋua ŋa ŋan caa naani kuli.”
While they were walking, one man told Jesus, “I will follow you wherever you go!”
58 Jesu den goa ki yedi: “I coli pia i fali, ti bonyugiditi mo pia ti tediti, ama o Ja Bijua wani naa pia wan baa dua naani.”
Jesus told the man, “Foxes have their dens, and wild birds have their nests, but the Son of man doesn't even have a place to rest his head.”
59 Jesu den yedi nitoa mo: “ŋoadi nni.” o den goa ki yedi o: “N Daano, pa nni min da kpa gedi ki ban piini n baa no.”
He told another man, “Follow me.” But the man replied, “Master, first let me go home and bury my father.”
60 Jesu den yedi o: “Cedi bi tinkpiba n piini bi tinkpiba, ama fini, gedi ki ban ya wangi U Tienu maama.”
“Let the dead bury their own dead,” Jesus replied. “You go and proclaim God's kingdom.”
61 Nitoa go den yedi o: “N Daano, n baa ŋoadi a, ama pa nni min ŋda kpa gedi ki ban cabi n denpo yaaba.”
Another man said, “Lord, I will follow you! But first let me go home and say goodbye to my family.”
62 Jesu go den yedi o: “Yua n mubini ku naayaligu ki baa ya ko, ki go gbegidi ki nua puoli, waa dagidi U Tienu diema po.”
But Jesus told him, “Nobody once they've started plowing and then looks back is fit for God's kingdom.”
