Zephanja 1

1 Das Wort Jehovahs, welches geschah zu Zephanjah, dem Sohne Kuschis, des Sohnes Gedaljahs, des Sohnes Amarjahs, des Sohnes Chiskijahs, in den Tagen Joschijuhus, des Sohnes Amons, König von Jehudah.

The word of the Lord, which came vnto Zephaniah ye sonne of Cushi, the sonne of Gedaliah, the sonne of Amariah, the sonne of Hizkiah, in the dayes of Iosiah, the sonne of Amon King of Iudah.

2 Ich raffe alles weg von der Fläche des Bodens, spricht Jehovah.

I will surely destroy all things from off the land, saith the Lord.

3 Ich raffe weg Menschen und Vieh, raffe weg das Gevögel des Himmels und des Meeres Fische, und das Anstößige samt den Ungerechten, und rotte den Menschen aus von der Fläche des Bodens, spricht Jehovah.

I will destroy man and beast: I wil destroy the foules of the heauen, and the fishes of the sea, and ruines shalbe to the wicked, and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the Lord.

4 Und recke Meine Hand aus über Jehudah, und über alle, die da wohnen in Jerusalem, und rotte aus von diesem Orte des Baals Überrest mit den Namen der Götzenpfaffen, mit den Priestern.

I will also stretch out mine hand vpon Iudah, and vpon all the inhabitants of Ierusalem, and I wil cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with ye Priestes,

5 Und die auf den Dächern das Heer der Himmel anbeten, und die anbeten, die schwören bei Jehovah, und schwören bei ihrem König.

And them that worship the hoste of heauen vpon the house tops, and them that worship and sweare by the Lord, and sweare by Malcham,

6 Und die von Jehovah zurückgewichen, und Jehovah nicht gesucht, und nicht nach Ihm gefragt.

And them that are turned backe from the Lord, and those that haue not sought the Lord, nor inquired for him.

7 Seid stille vor dem Herrn Jehovah, denn Jehovahs Tag ist nahe; denn ein Opfer hat Jehovah bereitet, geheiligt, die von Ihm Gerufenen.

Be stil at the presence of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is at hand: for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice, and hath sanctified his ghests.

8 Und an dem Tage von Jehovahs Opfer soll geschehen, daß Ich heimsuche die Obersten und die Königssöhne und alle, die in ausländisches Kleid sich kleiden.

And it shalbe in the day of the Lords sacrifice, that I will visite the princes and the Kings children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparell.

9 Und will heimsuchen an jenem Tag alle, die über die Schwelle springen, die, so ihres Herrn Haus mit Gewalttat und Betrug erfüllen.

In the same day also will I visite all those that dance vpon the threshold so proudly, which fill their masters houses by crueltie and deceite.

10 Und wird sein an jenem Tage, spricht Jehovah, die Stimme des Geschreis vom Tore der Fische und ein Geheul von dem zweiten, und großes Zerbrechen von den Hügeln.

And in that day, saith the Lord, there shall be a noise, and cry from the fishgate, and an howling from the second gate, and a great destruction from the hilles.

11 Heult, die ihr in dem Machtesch wohnet; denn all das Volk der Händler ist untergegangen und ausgerottet alle, die beladen sind mit Silber.

Howle ye inhabitants of the lowe place: for the companie of the marchants is destroyed: all they that beare siluer, are cut off.

12 Und zu der Zeit wird es geschehen, daß mit Leuchten Ich Jerusalem durchsuche, und die Leute heimsuche, die verhärtet auf ihren Hefen sitzen, die in ihrem Herzen sagen: Jehovah tut nicht Gutes und nicht Böses.

And at that time will I searche Ierusalem with lightes, and visite the men that are frosen in their dregges, and say in their heartes, The Lord will neither doe good nor doe euill.

13 Und ihr Vermögen soll geplündert werden, und zur Verwüstung ihre Häuser. Und sie bauen Häuser, aber wohnen nicht darin, und pflanzen Weinberge und trinken nicht ihren Wein.

Therefore their goods shall be spoyled, and their houses waste: they shall also build houses, but not inhabite them, and they shall plant vineyards, but not drinke the wine thereof.

14 Nahe ist der große Tag Jehovahs, nahe und eilt sehr: Die Stimme des Tages Jehovahs, bitterlich schreit dort auf der Held.

The great day of the Lord is neere: it is neere, and hasteth greatly, euen the voyce of the day of the Lord: the strong man shall cry there bitterly.

15 Ein Tag des Wütens ist jener Tag, ein Tag der Drangsal und der Angst, ein Tag des Tosens und des Getöses, ein Tag der Finsternis und der Dunkelheit, ein Tag der Wolke und des Wolkendunkels.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and heauinesse, a day of destruction and desolation, a day of obscuritie and darkenesse, a day of cloudes and blackenesse,

16 Ein Tag der Posaune und des Feldgeschreis über den festen Städten und den hohen Ecken.

A day of the trumpet and alarme against the strong cities, and against the hie towres.

17 Und Ich werde die Menschen in Drangsal bringen; sie werden wie die Blinden umhergehen, weil sie wider Jehovah sündigten. Und ihr Blut soll hingeschüttet werden wie Staub und wie Kot ihr Fleisch.

And I will bring distresse vpon men, that they shall walke like blind men, because they haue sinned against the Lord, and their blood shall be powred out as dust, and their flesh as the dongue.

18 Weder ihr Silber, noch ihr Gold vermag sie zu erretten am Tage von Jehovahs Wüten, und mit Seines Eifers Feuer wird das ganze Land aufgefressen; denn eine Vollendung, ja eine bestürzende macht Er mit allen, die im Lande wohnen.

Neither their siluer nor their golde shalbe able to deliuer them in ye day of the Lords wrath, but the whole lande shalbe deuoured by the fire of his ielousie: for hee shall make euen a speedie riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
