Roemers 8
1 So gibt es denn keine Verdammnis für die, so in Jesus Christus sind, weil sie nicht nach dem Fleisch, sondern nach dem Geist wandeln.
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2 Denn das Gesetz des Geistes, des Lebens in Jesus Christus, hat mich frei gemacht von dem Gesetz der Sünde und des Todes.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.
3 Denn was dem Gesetz unmöglich war, weil es durch das Fleisch geschwächt war, das tat Gott, und sandte Seinen Sohn in der Gestalt des sündhaften Fleisches, und um der Sünde willen verurteilte Er die Sünde in dem Fleisch;
For what the law was unable to do because it was weak through the flesh, God did. He sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be an offering for sin, and he condemned sin in the flesh.
4 Auf daß die Rechtfertigung des Gesetzes an uns, die wir nicht nach dem Fleisch, sondern nach dem Geist wandeln, erfüllt würde.
He did this in order that the requirements of the law might be fulfilled in us, we who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
5 Denn die da nach dem Fleisch sind, die sind fleischlich gesinnt, die aber nach dem Geist sind, die sind geistlich gesinnt.
Those who live according to the flesh pay attention to the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit pay attention to the things of the Spirit.
6 Denn fleischlich gesinnt sein ist Tod, geistlich gesinnt sein aber ist Leben und Friede.
For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.
7 Weil fleischlich gesinnt sein ist, eine Feindschaft wider Gott, da es sich nicht dem Gesetz Gottes unterwirft, und es auch nicht kann.
The mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God, for it is not subject to God's law, nor is it able to do so.
8 Die aber im Fleisch sind, können Gott nicht gefallen.
Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 Ihr aber seid nicht im Fleisch, sondern im Geist, wenn anders der Geist Gottes in euch wohnt; wenn aber einer Christi Geist nicht hat, so ist er nicht Sein.
However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is true that God's Spirit lives in you. But if someone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.
10 Ist aber Christus in euch, so ist der Leib zwar tot um der Sünde willen, der Geist aber ist Leben um der Gerechtigkeit willen.
If Christ is in you, the body is dead with respect to sin, but the spirit is alive with respect to righteousness.
11 So aber der Geist Dessen, Der Jesus von den Toten auferweckt hat, in euch wohnt, so wird Der, Der Christus von den Toten auferweckt hat, auch eure sterblichen Leiber lebendig machen durch Seinen Geist, der in euch wohnt.
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
12 Deshalb sind wir, meine Brüder, nicht dem Fleisch schuldig, nach dem Fleisch zu leben;
So then, brothers, we are debtors, but not to the flesh to live according to the flesh.
13 Denn wenn ihr nach dem Fleisch lebt, so werdet ihr sterben; so ihr aber durch den Geist die Werke des Fleisches tötet, werdet ihr leben.
For if you live according to the flesh, you are about to die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the body's actions, you will live.
14 Denn die vom Geist Gottes angetrieben werden, sind alle Gottes Kinder.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
15 Denn ihr habt nicht den Geist der Knechtschaft empfangen, um euch wieder zu fürchten, sondern ihr habt den Geist der Kindschaft empfangen, in dem wir Abba, Vater! rufen.
You did not receive a spirit that makes you slaves, so that you live in fear again; but you received the Spirit of adoption, by which we cry, “Abba, Father!”
16 Derselbe Geist gibt Zeugnis unserem Geist, daß wir Kinder Gottes sind.
The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
17 Sind wir denn Kinder, so sind wir auch Erben, Erben Gottes und Miterben Christi, wenn wir anders mit Ihm leiden, auf daß wir mit Ihm auch verherrlicht werden.
If we are children, then we are also heirs, heirs of God. And we are joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.
18 Denn ich halte dafür, daß dieser Zeit Leiden nicht wert sind der Herrlichkeit, die an uns soll geoffenbart werden.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed to us.
19 Denn das Harren der Schöpfung wartet auf die Offenbarung der Kinder Gottes.
For the eager expectation of the creation waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
20 Weil die Schöpfung der Nichtigkeit unterworfen ward, nicht aus eigener Wahl, sondern von Dem, Der sie derselben unterwarf, auf Hoffnung;
For the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in the certain hope
21 Daß auch sie, die Schöpfung, von der Knechtschaft der Vergänglichkeit befreit, und in die Freiheit der Herrlichkeit der Kinder Gottes werden würde.
that the creation itself will be delivered from slavery to decay, and that it will be brought into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
22 Denn wir wissen, daß bisher noch die ganze Schöpfung mit stöhnt, und mit im Kreißen begriffen ist.
For we know that the whole creation groans and labors in pain together even now.
23 Nicht allein aber sie, sondern auch wir selbst, die wir des Geistes Erstlinge haben, auch wir stöhnen, indem wir der Kindschaft der Erlösung unseres Leibes harren.
Not only that, but even we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit—even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for our adoption, the redemption of our body.
24 Denn wir sind zwar gerettet in der Hoffnung; die Hoffnung aber, die man sieht, ist keine Hoffnung, denn wie kann man das hoffen, was man schon sieht?
For in this certain hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he can see?
25 So wir aber auf das hoffen, was wir nicht sehen, so warten wir mit Beharrlichkeit.
But if we have certain hope about what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
26 Gleichermaßen aber hilft auch der Geist unseren schwachen Zuständen auf; denn wir wissen nicht, um was wir beten sollen, wie es sich gebührt, aber der Geist selbst verwendet sich für uns mit unaussprechlichem Seufzen.
In the same way, the Spirit also helps in our weakness. For we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groans.
27 Der aber die Herzen erforscht, weiß, wie der Geist gesinnt ist, weil er die Heiligen Gott gefällig vertritt.
He who searches the hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes on behalf of the saints according to the will of God.
28 Wir wissen aber, daß denen, die Gott lieben, alle Dinge zum Besten dienen, denen, die nach Ratschluß berufen sind;
We know that for those who love God, he works all things together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
29 Denn die, welche Er zuvor erkannt hatte, bestimmte Er auch voraus, daß sie gleich gestaltet sein sollten dem Ebenbilde Seines Sohnes, auf daß Er der Erstgeborene unter vielen Brüdern wäre.
Because those whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
30 Welche Er aber voraus bestimmt hatte, diese berief Er auch, und die Er berufen hatte, die hat Er auch gerechtfertigt, die Er aber gerechtfertigt, die hat Er auch verherrlicht.
Those whom he predestined, these he also called. Those whom he called, these he also justified. Those whom he justified, these he also glorified.
31 Was wollen wir nun dazu sagen? Ist Gott für uns, wer mag wider uns sein?
What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
32 Wie sollte Er, Der Seines eigenen Sohnes nicht verschont, sondern Ihn für uns alle dahingegeben hat, wie sollte Er uns mit Ihm nicht alles schenken?
He who did not spare his own Son but delivered him up on behalf of us all, how will he not also with him freely give us all things?
33 Wer wird die Auserwählten Gottes anklagen? Gott ist es, Der da gerecht macht.
Who will bring any accusation against God's chosen ones? God is the one who justifies.
34 Wer will verdammen? Christus ist hier, Der gestorben ist, ja vielmehr Der auch auferweckt ist, und zur Rechten Gottes ist und uns vertritt.
Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us.
35 Wer will uns scheiden von der Liebe Christi? Trübsal, oder Angst, oder Verfolgung, oder Hunger, oder Blöße, oder Gefahr, oder Schwert?
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or hunger, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
36 Wie denn geschrieben steht: Um deinetwillen werden wir den ganzen Tag hingemordet, sind wir wie Schlachtschafe geachtet.
Just as it is written, “For your benefit we are killed all day long. We were considered as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Aber in alledem siegen wir überschwenglich durch Ihn, Der uns geliebt hat.
In all these things we are more than conquerors through the one who loved us.
38 Ja, ich bin des Glaubens, daß weder Tod noch Leben, weder Engel, noch Herrschaften, noch Gewalten, weder Gegenwärtiges, noch Zukünftiges,
For I have been convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor governments, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39 Weder Hohes, noch Niederes, noch irgendein Geschöpf uns scheiden kann von der Liebe Gottes, die in unserem Herrn Jesus Christus.
nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
