Nahum 2
1 Herauf zieht der Zerstreuer vor dein Angesicht. Bewahrt das Bollwerk! Spähe auf den Weg, mache fest die Lenden, verstärke sehr die Kraft.
The destroyer is come before thy face: keepe the munition: looke to the way: make thy loynes strong: increase thy strength mightily.
2 Denn Jehovah wendet zurück den Stolz Jakobs wie den Stolz Israels; denn die Ausleerer haben ausgeleert, und ihre Weinranken haben sie verdorben.
For the Lord hath turned away the glorie of Iaakob, as the glorie of Israel: for the emptiers haue emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
3 Die Tartsche seiner Helden ist gerötet, die Männer der Tapferkeit sind im Scharlach; im Feuer der Fackeln ist der Streitwagen, am Tage, da er sich bereit macht, und die Lanzen geschwungen werden.
The shield of his mightie men is made red: the valiant men are in skarlet: the charets shalbe as in the fire and flames in the day of his preparation, and the firre trees shall tremble.
4 In den Gassen rasen die Streitwagen, sie rennen dahin auf den Straßen, ihr Aussehen ist wie das der Fackeln, wie die Blitze fahren sie.
The charets shall rage in the streetes: they shall runne to and from in the hie wayes: they shall seeme like lampes: they shall shoote like the lightning.
5 Er gedenkt seiner Stattlichen, sie straucheln in ihrem Gehen, sie eilen nach der Mauer. Die Bedeckung wird bereit gemacht.
He shall remember his strong men: they shall stumble as they goe: they shall make haste to the walles thereof, and the defence shall bee prepared.
6 Die Tore der Flüsse werden geöffnet, und der Palast zerfließt.
The gates of the riuers shalbe opened, and the palace shall melt.
7 Es ist beschlossen: Sie wird gefangen hinausgeführt, und ihre Mägde wehklagen wie die Stimme der Tauben, und schlagen auf ihr Herz.
And Huzzab the Queene shalbe led away captiue, and her maides shall leade her as with the voyce of doues, smiting vpon their breastes.
8 Und Niniveh war wie ein Teich von Wassern von den Tagen an, da es bestand, und sie fliehen: Stehet, stehet! Und niemand wendet sich um.
But Nineueh is of olde like a poole of water: yet they shall flee away. Stande, stande, shall they crie: but none shall looke backe.
9 Raubt Silber, raubt Gold, und kein Ende des Vorrats, eine Herrlichkeit an allen den kostbarsten Gefäßen.
Spoyle ye the siluer, spoyle the golde: for there is none ende of the store, and glorie of all the pleasant vessels.
10 Leerheit und Ausleerung und Ausräumung, und ein zerschmelzendes Herz, und Schlottern der Knie, und Pein in allen Landen, und alle Angesichter ziehen ihr Wangenrot ein.
She is emptie and voyde and waste, and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and sorowe is in all loynes, and the faces of the all gather blackenesse.
11 Wo ist der Löwen Wohnstätte und die Weide der jungen Löwen, wo der Löwe, der alte Löwe und das Junge des Löwen sich ergingen, und niemand sie aufscheuchte!
Where is the dwelling of the lyons, and the pasture of the lyons whelpes? where the lyon, and the lionesse walked, and the lyons whelpe, and none made them afrayde.
12 Der Löwe zerfleischte genug für seinen Jungen, und erwürgte für seine alte Löwinnen, und füllte seine Höhlen mit dem Zerfleischten und seine Wohnstätte mit dem, was er zerfleischt.
The lyon did teare in pieces ynough for his whelpes, and woryed for his lyonesse, and filled his holes with praye, and his dennes with, spoyle.
13 Siehe, Ich bin wider dich, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, und laß brennen mit Rauch seine Streitwagen, und deine jungen Löwen fresse das Schwert, und Ich rotte aus von der Erde dein Zerfleischtes, daß deiner Boten Stimme man nimmer hören soll.
Beholde, I come vnto thee, sayeth the Lord of hostes, and I will burne her charets in the smoke, and the sworde shall deuoure thy yong lyons, and I will cut off thy spoyle from the earth, and the voyce of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
