Lukas 18
1 Er sagte ihnen aber auch ein Gleichnis dafür, daß man allezeit beten und nicht verzagen sollte,
And he spake also a simile to them, that it behoveth [us] always to pray, and not to faint,
2 Und sprach: Es war in einer Stadt ein Richter, der Gott nicht fürchtete, noch den Menschen scheute.
saying, 'A certain judge was in a certain city — God he is not fearing, and man he is not regarding —
3 Es war aber in selbiger Stadt eine Witwe, und die kam zu ihm und sprach: Räche mich an meinem Widersacher.
and a widow was in that city, and she was coming unto him, saying, Do me justice on my opponent,
4 Und er wollte eine Zeitlang nicht. Danach aber sprach er bei sich: Wenn ich mich auch vor Gott nicht fürchte, noch vor dem Menschen scheue,
and he would not for a time, but after these things he said in himself, Even if God I do not fear, and man do not regard,
5 Weil mir diese Witwe Ungelegenheit macht, will ich sie rächen, daß sie nicht am Ende kommt und mir ins Gesicht fährt.
yet because this widow doth give me trouble, I will do her justice, lest, perpetually coming, she may plague me.'
6 Der Herr aber sagte: Ihr hört, was der Richter der Ungerechtigkeit sagt.
And the Lord said, 'Hear ye what the unrighteous judge saith:
7 Sollet aber Gott nicht Rache verschaffen Seinen Auserwählten, die zu Ihm rufen Tag und Nacht, und Langmut mit ihnen haben?
and shall not God execute the justice to His choice ones, who are crying unto Him day and night — bearing long in regard to them?
8 Ich sage euch, daß Er ihnen schnell Rache verschaffen wird. Doch wenn des Menschen Sohn kommt, wird Er wohl Glauben finden auf Erden?
I say to you, that He will execute the justice to them quickly; but the Son of Man having come, shall he find the faith upon the earth?'
9 Er sagte aber auch über etliche, die auf sich selbst vertrauen, daß sie gerecht wären und die übrigen mißachteten, dies Gleichnis:
And he spake also unto certain who have been trusting in themselves that they were righteous, and have been despising the rest, this simile:
10 Zwei Menschen gingen hinauf in das Heiligtum, zu beten, der eine ein Pharisäer, und der andere ein Zöllner.
'Two men went up to the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer;
11 Der Pharisäer stand da für sich und betete also: Ich danke Dir, Gott, daß ich nicht bin wie die übrigen Menschen, Räuber, Ungerechte, Ehebrecher, oder auch wie dieser Zöllner.
the Pharisee having stood by himself, thus prayed: God, I thank Thee that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax-gatherer;
12 Ich faste zweimal in der Woche und verzehnte alles, was ich besitze.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all things — as many as I possess.
13 Und der Zöllner stand von weitem und wollte auch nicht die Augen aufheben zum Himmel, sondern schlug an seine Brust und sprach: Gott, sei mir Sünder gnädig!
'And the tax-gatherer, having stood afar off, would not even the eyes lift up to the heaven, but was smiting on his breast, saying, God be propitious to me — the sinner!
14 Ich sage euch: Dieser ging hinab in sein Haus gerechtfertigt mehr denn jener; denn wer sich selbst erhöht, der wird erniedrigt werden, wer aber sich selbst erniedrigt, der wird erhöht werden.
I say to you, this one went down declared righteous, to his house, rather than that one: for every one who is exalting himself shall be humbled, and he who is humbling himself shall be exalted.'
15 Sie brachten auch Kindlein zu Ihm her, daß Er sie berühren möchte. Als die Jünger sie aber sahen, bedrohten sie dieselben.
And they were bringing near also the babes, that he may touch them, and the disciples having seen did rebuke them,
16 Jesus aber rief sie zu Sich und sprach: Lasset die Kindlein zu Mir kommen und wehret ihnen nicht; denn solcher ist das Reich Gottes.
and Jesus having called them near, said, 'Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the reign of God;
17 Wahrlich, Ich sage euch: Wer das Reich Gottes nicht aufnimmt wie ein Kindlein, der wird nicht darein eingehen.
verily I say to you, Whoever may not receive the reign of God as a little child, may not enter into it.'
18 Und es fragte Ihn ein Oberster und sprach: Guter Lehrer, was muß ich tun, daß ich das ewige Leben ererbe? (aiōnios g166)
And a certain ruler questioned him, saying, 'Good teacher, what having done — shall I inherit life age-during?' (aiōnios g166)
19 Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Was nennst du Mich gut? Niemand ist gut, denn der alleinige Gott.
And Jesus said to him, 'Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good, except One — God;
20 Du weißt die Gebote: Du sollst nicht ehebrechen, du sollst nicht morden, du sollst nicht stehlen, du sollst kein falsch Zeugnis reden. Ehre deinen Vater und die Mutter.
the commands thou hast known: Thou mayest not commit adultery, Thou mayest do no murder, Thou mayest not steal, Thou mayest not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.'
21 Er aber sprach: Dies alles habe ich gehalten von meiner Jungend auf.
And he said, 'All these I did keep from my youth;'
22 Als Jesus aber dies hörte, sprach Er zu ihm: Eines fehlt dir noch: Verkaufe alles, was du hast, und gib es den Armen hin, und du wirst einen Schatz im Himmel haben, und komm her und folge Mir nach.
and having heard these things, Jesus said to him, 'Yet one thing to thee is lacking; all things — as many as thou hast — sell, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me;'
23 Da er aber das hörte, ward er sehr betrübt; denn er war sehr reich.
and he, having heard these things, became very sorrowful, for he was exceeding rich.
24 Da aber Jesus sah, daß er sehr betrübt wurde, sprach Er: Wie schwer ist es für die, so Vermögen haben, in das Reich Gottes einzugehen!
And Jesus having seen him become very sorrowful, said, 'How hardly shall those having riches enter into the reign of God!
25 Denn es ist leichter, daß ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr eingehe, denn daß ein Reicher in das Reich Gottes eingehe.
for it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to enter, than for a rich man into the reign of God to enter.'
26 Da sprachen aber die, so es hörten: Wer kann dann gerettet werden?
And those who heard, said, 'And who is able to be saved?'
27 Er aber sprach: Was unmöglich ist bei Menschen, ist möglich bei Gott.
and he said, 'The things impossible with men are possible with God.'
28 Petrus aber sprach: Siehe, wir haben alles verlassen und sind Dir nachgefolgt.
And Peter said, 'Lo, we left all, and did follow thee;'
29 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wahrlich, Ich sage euch: Es ist niemand, der Haus oder Eltern oder Brüder oder Weib oder Kinder verläßt um des Reiches Gottes willen,
and he said to them, 'Verily I say to you, that there is not one who left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the reign of God,
31 Er aber nahm zu Sich die Zwölfe und sprach zu ihnen: Siehe, wir ziehen hinauf gen Jerusalem, und es wird alles vollendet werden, was durch die Propheten über des Menschen Sohn geschrieben ist.
And having taken the twelve aside, he said unto them, 'Lo, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things shall be completed — that have been written through the prophets — to the Son of Man,
32 Denn Er wird den Heiden überantwortet und verspottet und beschimpft und angespieen werden.
for he shall be delivered up to the nations, and shall be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon,
33 Und sie werden Ihn geißeln und töten, und am dritten Tage wird Er auferstehen.
and having scourged they shall put him to death, and on the third day he shall rise again.'
34 Und sie verstanden davon nichts, und diese Rede war ihnen verborgen, und sie erkannten nicht, was gesagt ward.
And they none of these things understood, and this saying was hid from them, and they were not knowing the things said.
35 Es geschah aber, da Er Jericho nahte, daß ein Blinder am Wege saß und bettelte.
And it came to pass, in his coming nigh to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting beside the way begging,
36 Da er aber hörte, daß ein Gedränge durchzog, erfragte er, was das wäre.
and having heard a multitude going by, he was inquiring what this may be,
37 Sie sagten ihm aber an, daß Jesus der Nazarener vorbeigehe.
and they brought him word that Jesus the Nazarene doth pass by,
38 Und er schrie und sprach: Jesus, Sohn Davids, erbarme dich meiner!
and he cried out, saying, 'Jesus, Son of David, deal kindly with me;'
39 Und die, so voran zogen, bedrohten ihn, er solle stillschweigen. Er aber schrie noch viel mehr: Sohn Davids, erbarme Dich meiner!
and those going before were rebuking him, that he might be silent, but he was much more crying out, 'Son of David, deal kindly with me.'
40 Jesus aber blieb stehen und befahl, ihn zu Ihm zu führen; da er aber sich nahte, fragte Er ihn,
And Jesus having stood, commanded him to be brought unto him, and he having come nigh, he questioned him,
41 Und sprach: Was willst du, daß Ich dir tun soll? Er aber sprach: Herr, daß ich sehend werde!
saying, 'What wilt thou I shall do to thee?' and he said, 'Sir, that I may receive sight.'
42 Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: Sei sehend; dein Glaube hat dich gerettet.
And Jesus said to him, 'Receive thy sight; thy faith hath saved thee;'
43 Und sogleich ward er sehend, folgte Ihm nach und verherrlichte Gott. Und alles Volk, das es sah, gab Gott Lob.
and presently he did receive sight, and was following him, glorifying God; and all the people, having seen, did give praise to God.
