1 Petrus 1
1 Petrus, ein Apostel Jesu Christi, an die auserwählten Fremdlinge in der Zerstreuung in Pontus, Galatien, Kappadocien, Asien und Bithyninen,
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the sojourners scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2 Nach dem Ratschlusse Gottes des Vaters durch die Heiligung des Geistes zum Gehorsam und zur Besprengung mit dem Blute Jesu Christi. Gnade und Friede werde euch in Fülle zuteil!
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
3 Gelobt sei Gott und der Vater unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, Der uns nach Seiner großen Barmherzigkeit durch die Auferstehung Jesu Christi von den Toten wiedergeboren hat zu einer lebendigen Hoffnung.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 Auf ein unvergängliches, unbeflecktes und unverwelkliches Erbteil, das im Himmel aufbehalten ist.
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Für euch, die ihr durch die Kraft Gottes mittelst des Glaubens bewahrt werdet für die Seligkeit, die bereit steht, daß sie in der letzten Zeit geoffenbart werde.
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Worüber ihr frohlockt, wenn ihr auch jetzt eine kleine Zeit
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 Auf daß euer Glaube bewährt und viel köstlicher erfunden werde, als das vergängliche, durch Feuer bewährte Gold, zu Lob, Preis und Herrlichkeit bei der Offenbarung Jesu Christi.
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Den ihr liebet, ohne Ihn gesehen zu haben, an Den ihr, ohne Ihn jetzt zu sehen, glaubt, und frohlocket mit unaussprechlicher und herrlicher Freude,
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Indem ihr als Ziel eures Glaubens der Seelen Seligkeit davontraget;
Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
10 Nach welcher Seligkeit die Propheten, die von der euch bestimmten Gnade weissagten, eifrig gesucht und geforscht haben,
Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
11 Indem sie nachforschten, auf welche oder welcherlei Zeit Christi Geist deutete, der in ihnen war, und die Christus bevorstehenden Leiden und die darauf folgenden Herrlichkeiten voraus bezeugte;
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
12 Denen geoffenbart worden, daß nicht ihnen selbst, sondern euch zugut kommen sollte, was euch nun durch die, so euch durch den vom Himmel gesandten Heiligen Geist das Evangelium predigten, verkündigt worden ist, in das hineinzuschauen Engel selbst verlangt.
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
13 Darum umgürtet die Lenden eures Gemütes, seid nüchtern, und setzt eure volle Hoffnung auf die Gnade, die euch durch die Erscheinung von Jesus Christus dargebracht wird;
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 Als Kinder des Gehorsams, indem ihr euch nicht mehr richtet nach den Lüsten in eurer früheren Unwissenheit,
As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 Sondern nach dem Heiligen, Der euch berufen hat, auf daß auch ihr in all eurem Wandel heilig werdet.
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Weil geschrieben steht: Ihr sollt heilig sein, denn Ich bin heilig.
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
17 Und wenn ihr Den als Vater anruft, Der ohne Ansehen der Person richtet, nach eines jeglichen Werk, so wandelt in Furcht die Zeit eurer Pilgerschaft,
And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
18 Indem ihr ja wißt, daß ihr nicht mit vergänglichem Silber oder Gold von eurem eitlen, von den Vätern angeborenen Wandel erlöst seid,
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 Sondern mit dem teuren Blut Christi als eines fehllosen und unbefleckten Lammes,
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Der vor Gründung der Welt dazu vorausbestimmt war, und in diesen letzten Zeiten um euretwillen Sich geoffenbart hat,
Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
21 Die ihr durch Ihn glaubt an Gott, Der Ihn von den Toten auferweckt und Ihm Herrlichkeit verliehen hat, so daß ihr Glauben und Hoffnung auf Gott haben möchtet.
Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 Und heiligt eure Seelen im Gehorsam gegen die Wahrheit durch den Geist zu ungeheuchelter Bruderliebe und habt aus reinem Herzen einander inbrünstig lieb,
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Als die da wiedergeboren sind nicht aus vergänglichem, sondern aus unvergänglichem Samen, durch das lebendige Wort Gottes, das da ewiglich bleibt. (aiōn g165)
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (aiōn g165)
24 Denn alles Fleisch ist wie Gras, und all seine Herrlichkeit wie die Blume des Grases: Das Gras verdorrt und seine Blume fällt ab.
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
