Jeremia 6
1 Fliehet, ihr Kinder Benjamin, aus Jerusalems Mitte, und in Thekoa blaset die Posaune, und über Beth-Kerem richtet ein Zeichen auf; denn ein Unglück droht von Norden her und ein großes Verderben.
O all of you children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appears out of the north, and great destruction.
2 Die Liebliche und Verzärtelte, die Tochter Zion will ich zerstören.
I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.
3 Hirten mit ihren Herden werden zu ihr kommen; ihre Zelte werden sie aufschlagen rings um sie her, und ein jeder wird sein Teil abweiden.
The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.
4 «Heiliget einen Krieg gegen sie! Auf, laßt uns am Mittag hinaufziehen! Wehe uns, der Tag neigt sich, und die Abendschatten dehnen sich!
Prepare all of you war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goes away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
5 Auf, laßt uns bei Nacht hinaufziehen und ihre Paläste zerstören!»
Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.
6 Denn also hat der HERR der Heerscharen befohlen: Fället Bäume und schüttet einen Wall auf gegen Jerusalem! Das ist die Stadt, welche gestraft werden soll; denn lauter Gewalttat ist in ihrer Mitte.
For thus has the LORD of hosts said, Hew all of you down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.
7 Wie ein Brunnen sein Wasser quellen läßt, also läßt sie ihre Bosheit quellen; von Gewalttat und Bedrückung hört man in ihr; Leid und Mißhandlung muß ich beständig mitansehen.
As a fountain casts out her waters, so she casts out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually is grief and wounds.
8 Laß dich warnen, Jerusalem, damit sich meine Seele nicht ganz von dir entfremde, daß ich dich nicht zur Wüste mache, zu einem unbewohnten Lande!
Be you instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from you; lest I make you desolate, a land not inhabited.
9 Also spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Am Überrest Israels wird man Nachlese halten wie am Weinstock. Strecke nochmals wie ein Weinleser deine Hand aus über die Ranken!
Thus says the LORD of hosts, They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back your hand as a grape-gatherer into the baskets.
10 Zu wem soll ich reden, wem Zeugnis ablegen, daß sie es hören? Siehe, ihre Ohren sind unbeschnitten, sie können nicht aufmerken. Siehe, das Wort des HERRN ist ihnen zum Hohn geworden; sie haben keine Lust daran.
To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
11 Und ich bin des Grimmes des HERRN so voll, daß ich ihn kaum zurückhalten kann. Gieße ihn aus über die Kinder auf der Gasse und über den Kreis der Jünglinge allzumal! Ja, Mann und Weib sollen gefangen werden, Alte und Wohlbetagte.
Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.
12 Ihre Häuser sollen andern zugewandt werden, Äcker und Weiber allzumal; denn ich will meine Hand ausstrecken wider die Bewohner dieses Landes, spricht der HERR.
And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, says the LORD.
13 Denn vom Kleinsten bis zum Größten trachten sie alle nach Gewinn, und vom Propheten bis zum Priester gehen sie alle mit Lügen um.
For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one deals falsely.
14 Und sie heilen den Schaden der Tochter meines Volkes leichthin, indem sie sprechen: «Friede, Friede!» wo doch kein Friede ist.
They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
15 Schämen sollten sie sich, weil sie Greuel verübt haben; aber sie wissen nicht mehr, was sich schämen heißt, und empfinden keine Scham. Darum werden sie fallen unter den Fallenden; zur Zeit, da ich sie heimsuche, werden sie stürzen, spricht der HERR.
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, says the LORD.
16 Also spricht der HERR: Tretet hin an die Wege und schauet und fraget nach den Pfaden der Vorzeit, welches der gute Weg sei, und wandelt darauf, so werdet ihr Ruhe finden für eure Seelen! Sie aber sprechen: «Wir wollen ihn nicht gehen!»
Thus says the LORD, Stand all of you in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and all of you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
17 Und ich habe Wächter über euch bestellt: Merkt doch auf den Schall der Posaune! Sie aber sprechen: «Wir wollen nicht aufmerken!»
Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
18 So höret nun, ihr Völker, und du, Gemeinde, erkenne, was unter ihnen geschieht! Höre es, Erde!
Therefore hear, all of you nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
19 Siehe, ich will Unheil über dieses Volk kommen lassen, die Frucht ihrer Anschläge; denn auf meine Worte achteten sie nicht, und mein Gesetz verwarfen sie.
Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
20 Was soll mir der Weihrauch von Saba und das köstliche Gewürzrohr aus fernem Lande? Eure Brandopfer mißfallen mir, und eure Schlachtopfer sind mir nicht angenehm.
To what purpose comes there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.
21 Darum spricht der HERR also: Siehe, ich will diesem Volke Steine des Anstoßes in den Weg legen, damit Väter und Kinder zugleich daran zu Fall kommen; ein Nachbar mit dem andern wird umkommen.
Therefore thus says the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
22 So spricht der HERR: Siehe, es kommt ein Volk von Norden her, und eine große Nation erhebt sich von den äußersten Enden der Erde.
Thus says the LORD, Behold, a people comes from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.
23 Mit Bogen und Wurfspieß sind sie bewaffnet; grausam sind sie und ohne Erbarmen. Ihr Lärmen ist wie das Brausen des Meeres, und auf Pferden reiten sie, gerüstet wie ein Mann zum Kampf wider dich, o Tochter Zion!
They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roars like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against you, O daughter of Zion.
24 Als wir von ihnen hörten, wurden unsere Hände schlaff, Angst ergriff uns, Wehen wie eine Gebärende.
We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish has taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
25 Gehe ja nicht aufs Feld hinaus und betritt die Straße nicht! Denn des Feindes Schwert verbreitet Schrecken ringsum.
Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.
26 Gürte einen Sack um dich, o Tochter meines Volkes, und wälze dich in der Asche; traure wie um einen einzigen Sohn, halte bittere Klage! Denn plötzlich wird der Verwüster über uns kommen.
O daughter of my people, gird you with sackcloth, and wallow yourself in ashes: make you mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.
27 Ich habe dich zum Prüfer über mein Volk bestellt, zum Goldprüfer, daß du erkennest und prüfest ihren Weg.
I have set you for a tower and a fortress among my people, that you may know and try their way.
28 Sie sind alle widerspenstige Empörer, gehen mit Verleumdungen um; Erz und Eisen sind sie, allesamt Verderber.
They are all grievous apostates, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.
29 Der Blasebalg schnaubt; aber aus dem Feuer kommt nur Blei, die Bösen werden doch nicht ausgeschieden!
The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melts in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.
30 Darum wird man sie «verworfenes Silber» nennen, weil der HERR sie verworfen hat.
Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD has rejected them.
