2 Chronik 9
1 Und als die Königin von Saba das Gerücht von Salomo hörte, kam sie, um Salomo mit Rätseln zu erproben, nach Jerusalem mit einem sehr großen Gefolge und mit Kamelen, die Gewürz und Gold in Menge und Edelsteine trugen. Und als sie zu Salomo kam, redete sie mit ihm alles, was sie in ihrem Herzen hatte.
And when the queen of Saba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to try him with hard questions at Jerusalem, with great riches, and camels, which carried spices, and abundance of gold, and precious stones. And when she was come to Solomon, she proposed to him all that was in her heart.
2 Und Salomo gab ihr über alles Aufschluß; es war dem Salomo nichts verborgen, daß er ihr darüber nicht Aufschluß gegeben hätte.
And Solomon explained to her all that she proposed: and there was not any thing that he did not make clear unto her.
3 Als nun die Königin von Saba die Weisheit Salomos sah und das Haus, das er gebaut hatte,
And when she had seen these things, to wit, the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he had built,
4 und die Speise auf seinem Tisch, die Wohnung seiner Knechte und das Auftreten seiner Diener und ihre Kleider, seine Mundschenken und ihre Kleider und seine Brandopfer, die er im Haus des HERRN darbrachte, kam sie außer sich vor Erstaunen
And the meats of his table, and the dwelling places of his servants, and the attendance of his officers, and their apparel, his cupbearers also, and their garments, and the victims which he offered in the house of the Lord: there was no more spirit in her, she was so astonished.
5 und sprach zum König: Es ist wahr, was ich in meinem Lande von deinen Sachen und von deiner Weisheit gehört habe!
And she said to the king: The word is true which I heard in my country of thy virtues and wisdom.
6 Ich aber wollte ihren Worten nicht glauben, bis ich gekommen bin und es mit eigenen Augen gesehen habe. Und siehe, es ist mir nicht die Hälfte von deiner Weisheit gesagt worden; du hast das Gerücht übertroffen, das ich vernommen habe.
I did not believe them that told it, until I came, and my eyes had seen, and I had proved that scarce one half of thy wisdom had been told me: thou hast exceeded the same with thy virtues.
7 Selig sind deine Leute, ja, selig diese deine Knechte, die allezeit vor dir stehen und deine Weisheit hören!
Happy are thy men, and happy are thy servants, who stand always before thee, and hear thy wisdom.
8 Der HERR, dein Gott, sei gelobt, der Lust zu dir hatte, daß er dich auf seinen Thron setzte als König vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott! Darum, weil dein Gott Israel liebt und es ewiglich erhalten will, hat er dich zum König gesetzt, daß du Recht und Gerechtigkeit übest!
Blessed be the Lord thy God, who hath been pleased to set thee on his throne, king of the Lord thy God. Because God loveth Israel, and will preserve them for ever: therefore hath he made thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.
9 Und sie gab dem König hundertzwanzig Talente Gold und sehr viel Gewürz und Edelsteine; es gab sonst kein solches Gewürz wie das, welches die Königin von Saba dem König Salomo schenkte.
And she gave to the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and most precious stones: there were no such spices as these which the queen of Saba gave to king Solomon.
10 (Dazu brachten die Knechte Hurams und die Knechte Salomos, welche Gold aus Ophir holten, auch Sandelholz und Edelsteine.
And the servants also of Hiram, with the servants of Solomon, brought gold from Ophir, and thyine trees, and most precious stones:
11 Und der König ließ aus dem Sandelholz Geländer machen im Hause des HERRN und im Hause des Königs, und Harfen und Psalter für die Sänger: dergleichen war zuvor im Lande Juda niemals gesehen worden.)
And the king made of the thyine trees stairs in the house of the Lord, and in the king’s house, and harps and psalteries for the singing men: never were there seen such trees in the land of Juda.
12 Und der König Salomo gab der Königin von Saba alles, was sie begehrte und bat, viel mehr als das, was sie selbst dem König gebracht hatte. Dann kehrte sie in ihr Land zurück samt ihren Knechten.
And king Solomon gave to the queen of Saba all that she desired, and that she asked, and many more things than she brought to him: so she returned, and went to her own country with her servants.
13 Das Gewicht des Goldes aber, das dem Salomo in einem Jahre einging, betrug 666 Talente Gold,
And the weight of the gold, that was brought to Solomon every year, was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold:
14 außer dem, was die Handelsleute und die Kaufleute brachten. Es brachten auch alle Könige der Araber und die Gewaltigen des Landes Gold und Silber zu Salomo.
Beside the sum which the deputies of divers nations, and the merchants were accustomed to bring, and all the kings of Arabia, and the lords of the lands, who I brought gold and silver to Solomon.
15 Und der König Salomo machte zweihundert Schilde von geschlagenem Gold, wobei sechshundert Schekel geschlagenen Goldes auf einen Schild kamen.
And king Solomon made two hundred golden spears, of the sum of six hundred pieces of gold, which went to every spear:
16 Und dreihundert Tartschen von geschlagenem Gold, wobei dreihundert Schekel geschlagenen Goldes auf eine Tartsche kamen; und der König tat sie ins Haus vom Libanonwalde.
And three hundred golden shields of three hundred pieces of gold, which went to the covering of every shield: and the king put them in the armoury, which was compassed with a wood.
17 Und der König machte einen großen Thron von Elfenbein und überzog ihn mit reinem Gold.
The king also made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.
18 Und der Thron hatte sechs Stufen und einen goldenen Fußschemel, an dem Thron befestigt, und es befanden sich Lehnen zu beiden Seiten des Sitzes, und zwei Löwen standen an den Lehnen.
And six steps to go up to the throne, and a footstool of gold, and two arms one on either side, and two lions standing by the arms:
19 Ferner standen zwölf Löwen daselbst auf den sechs Stufen zu beiden Seiten. Solches ist in keinem Königreich jemals gemacht worden.
Moreover twelve other little lions standing upon the steps on both sides: there was not such a throne in any kingdom.
20 Und alle Trinkgeschirre des Königs Salomo waren golden, und alle Geschirre im Hause vom Libanonwald feines Gold; denn zu Salomos Zeit wurde das Silber für nichts gerechnet.
And all the vessels of the king’s table were of gold, and the vessels of the house of the forest of Libanus were of the purest gold. For no account was made of silver in those days.
21 Denn die Schiffe des Königs fuhren gen Tarsis mit den Knechten Hurams; einmal in drei Jahren kamen die Tarsis-Schiffe und brachten Gold, Silber, Elfenbein, Affen und Pfauen.
For the king’s ships went to Tharsis with the servants of Hiram, once in three years: and they brought thence gold and silver, and ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
22 Also war der König Salomo an Reichtum und Weisheit größer als alle Könige auf Erden.
And Solomon was magnified above all the kings of the earth for riches and glory.
23 Und alle Könige auf Erden begehrten das Angesicht Salomos zu sehen und seine Weisheit zu hören, die ihm Gott in sein Herz gegeben hatte.
And all the kings of the earth desired to see the face of Solomon, that they might hear the wisdom which God had given in his heart.
24 Und sie brachten ihm jährlich ein jeder sein Geschenk, silberne und goldene Geräte, Kleider, Waffen und Gewürze, Pferde und Maultiere.
And every year they brought him presents, vessels of silver and of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, and horses, and mules.
25 Und Salomo hatte viertausend Pferdestände und Wagen und zwölftausend Reiter; die ließ man in den Wagenstädten und bei dem König zu Jerusalem.
And Solomon had forty thousand horses in the stables, and twelve thousand chariots, and horsemen, and he placed them in the cities of the chariots, and where the king was in Jerusalem.
26 Und er war Herrscher über alle Könige, vom Euphratstrom an bis an das Land der Philister und bis an die Grenzen Ägyptens.
And he exercised authority over all the kings from the river Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, and to the borders of Egypt.
27 Und der König machte, daß es zu Jerusalem so viel Silber gab wie Steine und so viel Zedern wie wilde Feigenbäume in den Tälern.
And he made silver as plentiful in Jerusalem as stones: and cedars as common as the sycamores, which grow in the plains.
28 Und man brachte Salomo Pferde aus Ägypten und aus allen Ländern.
And horses were brought to him out of Egypt, and out of all countries.
29 Die weitern Geschichten Salomos aber, die ersten und die letzten, sind die nicht aufgezeichnet in den Schriften des Propheten Natan und in der Weissagung Achijas von Silo und in den Gesichten Iddos, des Sehers, wider Jerobeam, den Sohn Nebats?
Now the rest of the acts of Solomon first and last are written in the words of Nathan the prophet, and in the boobs of Ahias the Silonite, and in the vision of Addo the seer, against Jeroboam the son of Nabat.
30 Und Salomo regierte zu Jerusalem über ganz Israel vierzig Jahre lang.
And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
31 Und Salomo legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn in der Stadt seines Vaters David; und Rehabeam, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
And he slept with his fathers: and they buried him in the city of David: and Roboam his son reigned in his stead.
