Matthaeus 27
1 Als es aber Morgen geworden war, hielten alle hohen Priester und Ältesten des Volkes einen Rat wider Jesus, daß sie ihn zum Tode brächten.
When the morning was come, all the chiefe Priests, and the elders of the people tooke counsell against Iesus, to put him to death,
2 Und banden ihn, und führten ihn weg, und überlieferten ihn dem Landpfleger Pontius Pilatus.
And led him away bounde, and deliuered him vnto Pontius Pilate the gouernour.
3 Als nun Judas, der ihn verraten hatte, sah, daß er verurteilt war, reuete es ihm, und brachte die dreißig Silberlinge den hohen Priestern und Ältesten zurück.
Then when Iudas which betraied him, sawe that hee was condemned, hee repented himselfe, and brought againe the thirtie pieces of siluer to the chiefe Priestes, and Elders,
4 Und sprachen: Ich habe gesündigt, daß ich unschuldig Blut verraten habe. Sie aber sprachen: Was geht das uns an. Siehe du zu!
Saying, I haue sinned, betraying the innocent bloud. But they sayde, What is that to vs? see thou to it.
5 Und er ward die Silberlinge in den Tempel, lief fort, und ging hin, und erhenkte sich. -
And when hee had cast downe the siluer pieces in the Temple, hee departed, and went, and hanged himselfe.
6 Die hohen Priester aber nahmen die Silberlinge, und sprachen: Es ist nicht erlaubt, sie zum Opfergeld zu tun, denn es ist Blutgeld.
And the chiefe Priestes tooke the siluer pieces, and sayde, It is not lawfull for vs to put them into the treasure, because it is the price of bloud.
7 Sie hielten aber einen Rat, und kauften dafür den Acker des Töpfers, zum Begräbnis der Fremdlinge.
And they tooke counsell, and bought with them a potters fielde, for the buriall of strangers.
8 Darum ist der Acker "Blutacker" genannt, bis auf den heutigen Tag. -
Wherefore that field is called, The field of bloud, vntill this day.
9 Da ward erfüllt, das gesagt ist durch den Propheten Jeremias, der da spricht: "Und sie haben genommen die dreißig Silberlinge; den Preis für den Geschätzten, welchen sie geschätzt, von den Söhnen Israels,
(Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Ieremias the Prophet, saying, And they tooke thirtie siluer pieces, ye price of him that was valued, whom they of ye children of Israel valued.
10 Und sie gaben sie für den Acker des Töpfers, wie mir der Herr befohlen hatte."
And they gaue them for the potters fielde, as the Lord appointed me.)
11 Jesus aber stand vor dem Landpfleger. Und der Landpfleger fragte ihn, und sprach: Bist du der König der Juden? Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Du sagst es.
And Iesus stood before ye gouernour, and the gouernour asked him, saying, Art thou that King of the Iewes? Iesus said vnto him, Thou sayest it.
12 Und als er verklagt ward von den hohen Priestern und Ältesten, antwortete er nichts.
And when he was accused of the chiefe Priestes, and Elders, he answered nothing.
13 Da spricht Pilatus zu ihm: Hörst du nicht, was alles sie wider dich zeugen?
Then saide Pilate vnto him, Hearest thou not howe many things they lay against thee?
14 Und er antwortete ihm nicht einmal ein einziges Wort, so daß es den Landpfleger sehr verwunderte.
But he answered him not to one worde, in so much that the gouernour marueiled greatly.
15 Auf das (Passah-) Fest aber hatte der Landpfleger die Gewohnheit einen Gefangenen loszugeben, welchen es wollte.
Nowe at the feast, the gouernour was wont to deliuer vnto the people a prisoner whom they would.
16 Sie hatten aber damals einen berüchtigten Gefangenen, genannt Barabbas.
And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
17 Als sie nun versammelt waren, sprach Pilatus zu ihnen: Wen wollt ihr, daß ich euch losgebe? Barabbas oder Jesus, welcher der Messias genannt wird?
When they were then gathered together, Pilate said vnto the, Whether will ye that I let loose vnto you Barabbas, or Iesus which is called Christ?
18 Denn er wußte, daß sie ihn aus Neid überliefert hatten.
(For he knewe well, that for enuie they had deliuered him.
19 Als er aber auf dem Richtstuhl saß, sandte zu ihm sein Weib, und ließ ihm sagen: Habe du nichts zu tun mit diesem Gerechten, denn ich habe heute im Traum viel erlitten seinetwegen.
Also when he was set downe vpon the iudgement seate, his wife sent to him, saying, Haue thou nothing to do with that iust man: for I haue suffered many things this day in a dreame by reason of him.)
20 Die hohen Priester und die Ältesten aber überredeten die Volkshaufen, daß sie den Barabbas erbitten sollten, Jesus aber umbrächten.
But the chiefe Priestes and the Elders had persuaded the people that they shoulde aske Barabbas, and should destroy Iesus.
21 Der Landpfleger aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Welchen wollt ihr von den Zweien, daß ich ihn euch losgebe? Sie aber sprachen: Barabbas
Then the gouernour answered, and said vnto them, Whether of the twaine will ye that I let loose vnto you? And they said, Barabbas.
22 Sagte ihnen Pilatus: Was soll ich denn machen mit Jesus, welcher Messias genannt wird? Sagen alle: Er werde gekreuzigt!
Pilate said vnto them, What shall I do then with Iesus, which is called Christ? They all said to him, Let him be crucified.
23 Der Landpfleger sprach: Was hat er denn Arges getan? Sie aber schrieen um so mehr und sprachen: Er werde gekreuzigt!
Then saide the gouernour, But what euill hath he done? Then they cryed the more, saying, Let him be crucified.
24 Als aber Pilatus sah, daß nichts nützte, sondern vielmehr ein Tumult entstand, nahm er Wasser und wusch seine Hände vor dem Volk, und sprach: Schuldlos bin ich am Blute dieses Gerechten. Sehet ihr zu!
When Pilate saw that he auailed nothing, but that more tumult was made, he tooke water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this iust man: looke you to it.
25 Und das ganze Volk antwortete, und sprach: sein Blut komme über uns und unsere Kinder!
Then answered all the people, and saide, His bloud be on vs, and on our children.
26 Da gab er ihnen Barabbas los; Jesus aber ließ er geißeln, und überlieferte ihn, daß er gekreuzigt würde.
Thus let he Barabbas loose vnto them, and scourged Iesus, and deliuered him to be crucified.
27 Da nahmen die Kriegsknechte des Landpflegers Jesus in das Richthaus und versammelten über ihn die ganze Rotte.
Then the souldiers of the gouernour tooke Iesus into the common hall, and gathered about him the whole band,
28 Und zogen ihn aus, und legten ihm einen roten Mantel um,
And they stripped him, and put about him a skarlet robe,
29 Und flochten eine Krone aus Dornen, setzten sie auf sein Haupt, und legten ein Rohr in seine Rechte, und indem sie die Kniee beugten vor ihm, verspotteten sie ihn, und sprachen: Gegrüßet seist du, König der Juden!
And platted a crowne of thornes, and put it vpon his head, and a reede in his right hand, and bowed their knees before him, and mocked him, saying, God saue thee King of the Iewes,
30 Und speiten auf ihn, nahmen das Rohr, und schlugen auf sein Haupt.
And spitted vpon him, and tooke a reede, and smote him on the head.
31 Und als sie ihn verspottet hatten, zogen sie ihm den Mantel aus, und zogen ihm seine Kleider an, und führten ihm fort, daß er gekreuzigt würde.
Thus when they had mocked him, they tooke the robe from him, and put his owne rayment on him, and led him away to crucifie him.
32 Und als sie hinauszogen, fanden sie einen Menschen von Kyrene, mit Namen Simon, den zwangen sie, daß er sein Kreuz trüge;
And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, named Simon: him they compelled to beare his crosse.
33 Und sie kamen an einen Ort, genannt Golgotha, das heißt Schädelstätte.
And when they came vnto the place called Golgotha, (that is to say, the place of dead mens skulles)
34 Da gaben sie ihm Essig (Soldatenwein) zu trinken, mit Galle vermischt, und als er es kostete, wollte er nicht trinken.
They gaue him vineger to drinke, mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drinke.
35 Da sie ihn aber gekreuzigt hatten verteilten sie seine Kleider, indem sie das Los warfen.
And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, and did cast lottes, that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the Prophet, They deuided my garments among them, and vpon my vesture did cast lottes.
36 Und sie saßen und bewachten ihn daselbst.
And they sate, and watched him there.
37 Und sie hefteten über sein Haupt die Schrift seiner Anklage: Dieser ist Jesus, der König der Juden.
They set vp also ouer his head his cause written, THIS IS IESVS THE KING OF THE IEVVES.
38 Es wurden aber zwei Räuber mit ihm gekreuzigt, einer zur Rechten, und einer zur Linken.
And there were two theeues crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
39 Die aber vorübergingen, lästerten ihn, und schüttelten ihre Köpfe,
And they that passed by, reuiled him, wagging their heades,
40 Und sprachen: Der du den Tempel abbrichst, und ihn in drei Tagen aufbaust, errette dich! Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so steig herab vom Kreuze!
And saying, Thou that destroyest ye Temple, and buildest it in three dayes, saue thy selfe: if thou be ye Sonne of God, come downe from ye crosse.
41 Gleicherweise verspotteten ihn auch die hohen Priester, mit den Schriftgelehrten, und Ältesten, und sprachen:
Likewise also the hie Priests mocking him, with the Scribes, and Elders, and Pharises, said,
42 Andere hat er errettet, sich selbst kann er nicht erretten. Wenn er der König Israels ist, so steige er jetzt vom Kreuze, und wir werden an ihn glauben.
He saued others, but he cannot saue him selfe: if he be ye King of Israel, let him now come downe from ye crosse, and we will beleeue in him.
43 Er vertraute auf Gott, der befreie ihn nun, wenn er ihn mag, denn er hat gesagt: Gottes Sohn bin ich.
He trusted in God, let him deliuer him nowe, if he will haue him: for he saide, I am the Sonne of God.
44 Desgleichen schmähten ihn auch die Räuber, die mit ihm gekreuzigt waren.
The selfe same thing also ye theeues which were crucified with him, cast in his teeth.
45 Von der sechsten Stunde an ward eine Finsternis über das ganze Land, bis zur neunten Stunde.
Now from ye sixt houre was there darkenesse ouer all the land, vnto the ninth houre.
46 Um die neunte Stunde schrie aber Jesus mit lauter Stimme, und sprach: Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? das heißt: Mein Gott, Mein Gott! warum hast du mich verlassen?
And about ye ninth houre Iesus cryed with a loud voyce, saying, Eli, Eli, lamasabachthani? that is, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
47 Da das etliche der Dastehenden hörten, sprachen sie: Den Elias ruft er.
And some of them that stoode there, when they heard it, said, This man calleth Elias.
48 Und alsbald lief einer von ihnen herzu, nahm einen Schwamm, füllte ihn mit Essig, und legte ihn um ein Rohr, und gab ihm zu trinken.
And straightway one of them ran, and tooke a spondge, and filled it with vineger, and put it on a reede, and gaue him to drinke.
49 Die übrigen aber sprachen: Laß! Wir wollen sehen, ob Elias kommt, ihn zu rette.
Other said, Let be: let vs see, if Elias wil come and saue him.
50 Jesus aber schrie wiederum mit lauter Stimme, und gab den Geist auf.
Then Iesus cryed againe with a loude voyce, and yeelded vp the ghost.
51 Und siehe, der Vorhang des Tempels zerriß entzwei, von obenher bis untenhin, und die Erde erbebte, und die Felsen zerrissen.
And behold, the vayle of the Temple was rent in twaine, from the top to the bottome, and the earth did quake, and the stones were cloue.
52 Und die Grabmale öffneten sich, und viele Leiber der entschlafenen Heiligen wurden erweckt,
And the graues did open themselues, and many bodies of the Saintes, which slept, arose,
53 Und gingen hervor aus den Grabmalen nach seiner Auferstehung, und gingen hinein in die heilige Stadt, und erschienen vielen.
And came out of the graues after his resurrection, and went into the holy citie, and appeared vnto many.
54 Der Hauptmann aber, und die mit ihm Jesus bewachten, als sie das Erdbeben und das Geschehen sahen, fürchteten sich sehr, und sprachen: Wahrhaftig, Gottes Sohn war dieser.
When the Centurion, and they that were with him watching Iesus, saw the earthquake, and the thinges that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truely this was the Sonne of God.
55 Es waren aber viele Weiber daselbst, die von ferne zuschauten, dieselben waren Jesus nachgefolgt aus Galiläa, und dienten ihm.
And many women were there, beholding him a farre off, which had folowed Iesus from Galile, ministring vnto him.
56 Unter welchen war Maria, die Magdalenerin, und Maria, die Mutter Jakobus und Joses, und die Mutter der Söhne Zebedäi.
Among whom was Marie Magdalene, and Marie the mother of Iames, and Ioses, and the mother of Zebedeus sonnes.
57 Als es aber Abend geworden, kam ein reicher Mann von Arimathia, Namens Joseph, welcher auch selbst ein Jünger Jesus war.
And when the euen was come, there came a riche man of Arimathea, named Ioseph, who had also himselfe bene Iesus disciple.
58 Der ging zu Pilatus, und bat um den Leib Jesu. Da befahl Pilatus, man solle den Leib geben.
He went to Pilate, and asked ye body of Iesus. Then Pilate commanded ye body to be deliuered.
59 Und Joseph nahm den Leib, und wickelte ihn in reine Leinwand.
So Ioseph tooke the body, and wrapped it in a cleane linnen cloth,
60 Und setzte ihn bei in seinem neuen Grabmal, das er im Felsen hatte aushauen lassen, und wälzte einen großen Stein vor den Eingang des Grabmals, und ging davon.
And put it in his new tombe, which he had hewen out in a rocke, and rolled a great stone to the doore of the sepulchre, and departed.
61 Es war aber daselbst Maria, die Magdalenerin, und die andere Maria, die saßen dem Grabe gegenüber.
And there was Marie Magdalene, and the other Marie sitting ouer against the sepulchre.
62 Am andern Tage aber, welcher ist nach dem Rüsttag, kamen die Priester und Pharisäer zusammen zu Pilatus,
Nowe the next day that followed the Preparation of the Sabbath, the hie Priestes and Pharises assembled to Pilate,
63 Und sprachen: Herr, wir erinnern uns, daß jener Betrüger sprach, als er noch lebte: Nach drei Tagen werde ich auferweckt.
And said, Syr, we remember that that deceiuer saide, while he was yet aliue, Within three dayes I will rise.
64 So befiehl nun, daß das Grab verwahrt werde bis zum dritten Tage, damit nicht seine Jünger kommen, und stehlen ihn, und sagen dem Volk: Er ist auferweckt worden von den Toten; und werde der letzte Betrug ärger, denn der erste.
Command therefore, that the sepulchre be made sure vntill the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steale him away, and say vnto the people, He is risen from the dead: so shall the last errour be worse then the first.
65 Pilatus aber sprach zu ihnen: Habt die Wache, gehet hin, und verwahret, wie ihr wisset!
Then Pilate saide vnto them, Ye haue a watch: goe, and make it sure as ye knowe.
66 Sie aber gingen hin, und verwahrten das Grab, indem sie den Stein versiegelten mit der Wache.
And they went, and made the sepulchre sure with the watch, and sealed the stone.
