Johannes 11
1 Es war aber jemand krank, Lazarus von Bethanien, aus dem Dorfe der Maria und ihrer Schwester Martha.
BUT a certain man was sick, Loozar, of the village Bethania: (he was) the brother of Mariam and of Martha.
2 Es war aber Maria, die den Herrn salbte mit Salbe, und seine Füße mit ihrem Haare abtrocknete, deren Bruder Lazarus krank war.
It was that Mariam who anointed with balsam the feet of Jeshu, and wiped (them) with her hair, whose brother this Loozar was who was sick.
3 Da sandten die Schwestern zu ihm, und ließen sagen: Herr, siehe, den du lieb hast, der ist krank.
And his two sisters sent unto Jeshu, saying, Our Lord, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 Als Jesus das hörte, sprach er: Diese Krankheit ist nicht zum Tode, sondern zur Verherrlichung Gottes, daß der Sohn Gottes durch sie verherrlicht werde.
But Jeshu said, This sickness is not of death, but for the glory of Aloha, that the Son of Aloha may be glorified on account of it.
5 Jesus aber liebte Martha, und ihre Schwester, und Lazarus.
But Jeshu loved Martha and Mariam and Loozar.
6 Als er nun gehört hatte, daß er krank war, blieb er doch noch zwei Tage an dem Ort, wo er war.
And when he heard that he was sick, he remained in the place where he was two days.
7 Darauf nach diesem sagte er den Jüngern: Laßt uns wieder nach Judäa gehen!
And afterwards he saith to his disciples, Come, we will go again into Jihud.
8 Die Jünger sagten ihm: Rabbi, jetzt suchten die Juden dich zu steinigen, und du willst wieder dahin gehen?
His disciples say to him, Raban, now have the Jihudoyee sought to stone thee; and again goest thou thither?
9 Jesus antwortete: Sind nicht des Tages zwölf Stunden? Wenn jemand am Tage wandelt, so stößt er sich nicht, weil er das Licht der Welt sieht.
Jeshu saith to them, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world;
10 Wenn er aber in der Nacht wandelt, so stößt er sich, weil kein Licht in ihm ist.
but if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because no light is in him.
11 Dieses sprach er, und darnach sagt er ihnen: Lazarus unser Freund ist eingeschlafen, aber ich gehe hin, daß ich ihn aufwecke.
These spake Jeshu; and afterwards he said to them, Loozar our friend reposeth; but I go to awake him.
12 Da sprachen seine Jünger: Herr, wenn er eingeschlafen ist, so kommt er davon.
His disciples say to him, Our Lord, if he sleep he is healed.
13 Jesus aber hatte von seinem Tode gesprochen, sie aber meinten, er rede von dem gewöhnlichen Schlaf.
But Jeshu spake concerning his death; and they thought that concerning the repose of sleep he spake.
14 Da sagte ihnen den Jesus frei heraus: Lazarus ist gestorben.
Then said Jeshu to them explicatively, Loozar is dead.
15 Und ich bin froh um euretwillen, daß ich nicht daselbst war, damit ihr glaubet. Aber lasset uns zu ihm gehen.
And I am glad I was not there for your sakes, that you may believe. But let us walk thither.
16 Da sprach Thomas, welcher Zwilling genannt wird, zu den Jüngern: Lasset uns auch gehen, damit wir mit ihm sterben.
Thoma, who is called the Twin, saith to his fellow-disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
17 Als nun Jesus hinkam, fand er ihn schon vier Tage im Grabe gelegen.
And Jeshu came to Bethania, and found that he had been four days in the house of burial.
18 Es war aber Bethanien nahe bei Jerusalem, bei fünfzehn Stadien davon.
Now Bethania was nigh to Urishlem, being a distance from it of about fifteen stadia.
19 Und viele Juden waren zu Martha und Maria gekommen, damit sie sie trösteten wegen ihres Bruders.
And many of the Jihudoyee had come to Martha and Mariam, that they might speak to their hearts concerning their brother.
20 Martha nun, als sie hörte, daß Jesus kommt, ging ihm entgegen. Maria aber saß zu Hause.
Then Martha, when she heard that Jeshu had come, went forth to meet him; but Mariam sat in the house.
21 Da sprach Martha zu Jesus: Herr, wärest du hier gewesen, so wäre mein Bruder nicht gestorben.
And Martha said to Jeshu, My Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
22 Aber ich weiß auch jetzt, daß was du von Gott erbittest, das wird dir Gott geben.
But even now know I that whatsoever thou wilt ask of Aloha, he giveth to thee.
23 Sagt ihr Jesus: Dein Bruder wird auferstehen.
Jeshu saith to her, Thy brother ariseth.
24 Sagt ihm Martha: Ich weiß, daß er auferstehen wird in der Auferstehung am letzten Tage.
Martha saith to him, I know that he ariseth in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Sprach Jesus zu ihr: Ich bin die Auferstehung und das Leben; wer an mich glaubt, der wird leben, auch wenn er stürbe;
Jeshu saith to her, I am the Resurrection and the Life; and (he) who believeth in me, although he will die, shall live.
26 Und jeder, der lebt und an mich glaubt, der wird in Ewigkeit nicht sterben. Glaubst du das? (aiōn g165)
And every one who liveth and believeth in me, for ever shall not die. Believest thou this? (aiōn g165)
27 Sie sagt ihm: Ja Herr; (denn) ich bin überzeugt, daß du der Messias bist, der Sohn Gottes, der in die Welt kommen soll.
She saith to him, Yes, my Lord; I believe that thou art the Meshicha, the Son of Aloha, who cometh into the world.
28 Und als sie das gesagt hatte, ging sie hin, und rief Maria, ihre Schwester, heimlich, und sprach: Der Lehrer ist da, und ruft dich.
And when she had said these, she went, called Mariam her sister in secret, and said to her, Our Master hath come, and calleth for thee.
29 Jene, als sie das hörte, stund schnell auf, und kommt zu ihm.
When Mariam heard, she arose quickly, and came to him.
30 Jesus aber war noch nicht in das Dorf gekommen, sondern war noch an dem Orte, wohin ihm Martha entgegengekommen war.
But Jeshu himself had not yet come into the village, but was in that place where Martha met him.
31 Da nun die Juden, welche bei ihr im Hause waren, und sie trösteten, Maria sahen, daß sie schnell aufstund und hinausging, folgten sie ihr nach, und sagten: Sie geht an das Grabmal, daß sie daselbst weine.
But those Jihudoyee who were also with her in the house to console her, when they saw that Mariam rose up hastily to go forth, went themselves after her; for they thought that to the sepulchre she went to weep.
32 Als aber Maria hinkam, wo Jesus war, und ihn sah, da fiel sie zu seinen Füßen, und sagte ihm: Herr wärst du hier gewesen, so wäre mein Bruder nicht gestorben.
But she, Mariam, when she was come where Jeshu was, and saw him, fell down at his feet, saying, If thou hadst been here, my Lord, my brother had not died.
33 Jesus nun, als er sah sie weinen, und die Juden, die mit ihr gekommen waren, weinen, da ergrimmte er im Geiste, und erregte sich,
But Jeshu, when he saw her weeping, and those Jihudoyee who came with her weeping, he was moved in his spirit, and was troubled,
34 Und sprach: Wo habt ihr ihn hingelegt? Sie sagen ihm: Herr, komm, und siehe!
and said, Where have you laid him? And they said to him, Our Lord, come and see.
35 Jesus weinte.
And the tears of Jeshu came.
36 Da sagten die Juden: Siehe, wie lieb er ihn hatte.
And the Jihudoyee said, See how he loved him!
37 Etliche aber von ihnen sprachen: Konnte nicht dieser, der die Augen des Blinden aufgetan hat, auch machen, daß dieser nicht sterbe?
But some of them said, Could not this who opened the eyes of that blind have caused also that this should not have died?
38 Da ergrimmte Jesus abermals in sich, und kam so zum Grab; es war aber eine Höhle, und ein Stein lag davor.
Jeshu, groaning within himself, came to the house of burial; and that house of burial was a cave, and a stone was laid at the gate of it.
39 Sagt Jesus: Nehmet den Stein weg! Sagt ihm Martha, die Schwester des Verstorbenen: Herr, er stinkt schon, denn es sind vier Tage.
And Jeshu said, Take up this stone. Martha, the sister of him (who was) dead, saith to him, My Lord, he now stinketh; for four days are to him.
40 Sagt ihr Jesus: Habe ich dir nicht gesagt, daß wenn du glaubst, du die Herrlichkeit Gottes sehen wirst?
Jeshu said to her, Said I not to thee, that if thou wilt believe, thou shalt see the glory of Aloha?
41 Da nahmen sie den Stein weg; Jesus aber hob seine Augen empor, und sprach: Vater, ich danke dir, daß du mich erhört hast.
And they took up the stone. And Jeshu lifted his eye upward, and said, Father, I give thanks to thee that thou hast heard me;
42 Ich wußte, daß du mich allezeit erhörst, aber um des herumstehenden Volkes willen habe ich es gesagt, damit sie glauben, daß du mich gesandt hast.
and I know that at all times thou hearest me: yet, because of this assembly which standeth, I say these (words), that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43 Und als er dies gesagt hatte, rief er mit lauter Stimme: Lazarus, komm heraus!
And when he had said these (words), he cried with a high voice, Loozar, come without!
44 Und der Verstorbene kam heraus, an Händen und Füßen mit Grabtüchern gebunden, und sein Angesicht war mit einem Schweißtuch umbunden. Jesus sagte ihnen: Löset ihn auf, und lasset ihn gehen.
And he, the dead, came forth, his hands and his feet being bound with bandages, and his face in a linen cloth. Jeshu saith to them, Release him, and let (him) go.
45 Viele nun von den Juden, die zu Maria gekommen waren, und sahen, was er tat, glaubten an ihn.
And many of the Jihudoyee who came with Mariam, when they saw the thing which Jeshu did, believed on him.
46 Etliche aber von ihnen gingen hin zu den Pharisäern, und sagten ihnen, was Jesus getan hatte.
And some of them went to the Pharishee, and told them every thing that Jeshu had done.
47 Da versammelten die hohen Priester und Pharisäer den hohen Rat, und sagten: Was sollen wir tun? denn dieser Mensch tut viele Zeichen.
AND the chief priests and Pharishee assembled, and said, What shall we do? because this man doeth many signs;
48 Wenn wir ihn so lassen, dann werden alle an ihn glauben, und die Römer werden kommen, und sowohl unsre Stätte, als unser Volk vertilgen.
and if we leave him thus, all men will believe on him, and the Rumoyee, coming, take away our country and our people.
49 Einer aber von ihnen, Kaiaphas, der jenes Jahr Hoherpriester war, sagte ihnen: Ihr wisset nichts,
But one of them, whose name was Kaiapha, was the high priest of that year; and he said to them, You know not any thing,
50 Und bedenket auch nicht, daß es uns besser ist, ein Mensch sterbe für das Volk, als daß die ganze Nation zugrunde gehe,
nor reason that it is expedient for us that one man die for the people, and not all the people perish.
51 Das sagte er aber nicht von sich selbst, sondern weil er jenes Jahr Hoherpriester war, weissagte er, daß Jesus für die Nation sterben würde.
But this from himself he spake not, but because he was high priest of that year, he prophesied that Jeshu should die for the people,
52 Und nicht für die Nation (der Juden) allein, sondern damit er auch die zerstreuten Kinder Gottes in eins zusammenbrächte.
and not only for (that) people, but also that the children of Aloha who are dispersed he should gather into one.
53 Von jenem Tage an ratschlagten sie denn, daß sie ihn töteten.
And from that day they determined to kill him.
54 Da wandelte Jesus nicht mehr offen unter den Juden umher, sondern ging von dannen in die Gegend nahe bei der Wüste, in eine Stadt genannt Ephraim, und hielt sich daselbst auf mit seinen Jüngern.
But Jeshu himself walked not openly among the Jihudoyee, but went from thence to the region near the wilderness, to a region which was called Ephrem, and there conversed with his disciples.
55 Es war aber nahe das Passah der Juden, und es gingen viele aus der Gegend hinauf nach Jerusalem, vor dem Feste, damit sie sich reinigten.
NOW the petscha of the Jihudoyee drew nigh; and many went up from the country places to Urishlem before the festival, to purify themselves.
56 Da suchten sie Jesus, und sprachen untereinander, während sie im Tempel stunden: Was dünkt euch, daß er nicht auf das Fest kommt?
And they sought for Jeshu, and said one to another in the temple, What think you, that he cometh to the feast?
57 Es hatten aber die hohen Priester und Pharisäer ein Gebot gegeben, daß wenn jemand wüßte, wo er ist, er es anzeigen solle, damit sie ihn griffen. -
But the chief priests and Pharishee had commanded that if any man knew where (he was), he should declare it to them, as that they might apprehend him.
