Psalm 148
1 Halleluja! Lobet, ihr Himmel, den HERRN; lobet ihn in der Höhe!
Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens. Praise him in the heights.
2 Lobet ihn, alle seine Engel; lobet ihn, all sein Heer!
Praise him, all his angels. Praise him, all his army.
3 Lobet ihn, Sonne und Mond; lobet ihn, alle leuchtenden Sterne!
Praise him, sun and moon. Praise him, all you shining stars.
4 Lobet ihn, ihr Himmel allenthalben, und die Wasser, die oben am Himmel sind!
Praise him, you heavens of heavens, You waters that are above the heavens.
5 Die sollen loben den Namen des HERRN; denn er gebeut, so wird's geschaffen.
Let them praise the name of the LORD, For he commanded, and they were created.
6 Er hält sie immer und ewiglich; er ordnet sie, daß sie nicht anders gehen müssen.
He has also established them forever and ever. He has made a decree which will not pass away.
7 Lobet den HERRN auf Erden, ihr Walfische und alle Tiefen;
Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures, and all depths.
8 Feuer, Hagel, Schnee und Dampf, Sturmwinde, die sein Wort ausrichten;
Lightning and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling his word;
9 Berge und alle Hügel, fruchtbare Bäume und alle Zedern;
mountains and all hills; fruit trees and all cedars;
10 Tier und alles Vieh, Gewürm und Vögel;
wild animals and all livestock; small creatures and flying birds;
11 ihr Könige auf Erden und alle Leute, Fürsten und alle Richter auf Erden;
kings of the earth and all peoples; princes and all judges of the earth;
12 Jünglinge und Jungfrauen, Alte mit den Jungen
both young men and maidens; old men and children:
13 sollen loben den Namen des HERRN; denn sein Name allein ist hoch; sein Lob gehet, soweit Himmel und Erde ist.
let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted. His glory is above the earth and the heavens.
14 Und er erhöhet das Horn seines Volks. Alle seine Heiligen sollen loben, die Kinder Israel, das Volk, das ihm dienet, Halleluja!
He has lifted up the horn of his people, the praise of all his faithful ones; even of the children of Israel, a people near to him. Praise the LORD.
