Psalm 108
1 Ein Psalmlied Davids. Gott, es ist mein rechter Ernst; ich will singen und dichten, meine Ehre auch.
[A Song. A Psalm by David.] My heart is steadfast, God. I will sing and I will make music with my soul.
2 Wohlauf, Psalter und Harfen! Ich will früh auf sein.
Wake up, harp and lyre. I will wake up the dawn.
3 Ich will dir danken, HERR, unter den Völkern, ich will dir lobsingen unter den Leuten.
I will give thanks to you, LORD, among the nations. I will sing praises to you among the peoples.
4 Denn deine Gnade reicht, soweit der Himmel ist, und deine Wahrheit, soweit die Wolken gehen.
For your loving kindness is great above the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
5 Erhebe dich, Gott, über den Himmel und deine Ehre über alle Lande,
Be exalted, God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.
6 auf daß deine lieben Freunde erlediget werden. Hilf mit deiner Rechten und erhöre mich!
That your beloved may be delivered, save with your right hand, and answer us.
7 Gott redet in seinem Heiligtum; des bin ich froh und will Sichem teilen und das Tal Suchoth abmessen.
God has spoken from his sanctuary: "In triumph, I will divide Shechem, and measure out the Valley of Succoth.
8 Gilead ist mein, Manasse ist auch mein und Ephraim ist die Macht meines Haupts, Juda ist mein Fürst,
Gilead is mine. Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is my helmet. Judah is my scepter.
9 Moab ist mein Waschtöpfen; ich will meinen Schuh über Edom strecken; über die Philister will ich jauchzen.
Moab is my wash pot. I will toss my sandal on Edom. I will shout in triumph over Philistia."
10 Wer will mich führen in eine feste Stadt? Wer wird mich leiten nach Edom?
Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who has led me to Edom?
11 Wirst du es nicht tun, Gott, der du uns verstößest und zeuchst nicht aus, Gott, mit unserm Heer?
Haven't you rejected us, God? You do not go forth, God, with our armies.
12 Schaffe uns Beistand in der Not, denn Menschenhilfe ist kein nütze.
Give us help against the enemy, for the help of man is vain.
Through God, we will do valiantly. For it is he who will trample down our enemies.
