Josua 10
1 Da aber Adoni-Zedek, der König zu Jerusalem, hörete, daß Josua Ai gewonnen und sie verbannet hatte und Ai samt ihrem Könige getan hatte, gleichwie er Jericho und ihrem Könige getan hatte, und daß die zu Gibeon Frieden mit Israel gemacht hatten und unter sie kommen waren,
Now when Adoni-zedek King of Ierusalem had heard how Ioshua had taken Ai and had destroyed it, (for as he had done to Iericho and to the King thereof, so he had done to Ai and to the King thereof) and howe the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them,
2 fürchteten sie sich sehr (denn Gibeon war eine große Stadt, wie eine königliche Stadt, und größer denn Ai, und alle ihr Bürger streitbar).
Then they feared exceedingly: for Gibeon was a great citie, as one of the royall cities: for it was greater then Ai, and all the men thereof were mightie.
3 Und er sandte zu Hoham, dem Könige zu Hebron, und zu Piream, dem Könige zu Jarmuth, und zu Japhia, dem Könige zu Lachis, und zu Debir, dem Könige zu Eglon, und ließ ihnen sagen:
Wherefore Adoni-zedek King of Ierusalem sent vnto Hoham King of Hebron, and vnto Piram King of Iarmuth, and vnto Iapia King of Lachish, and vnto Debir King of Eglon, saying,
4 Kommt herauf zu mir und helfet mir, daß wir Gibeon schlagen; denn sie hat mit Josua und den Kindern Israel Frieden gemacht.
Come vp vnto me, and helpe me, that we may smite Gibeon: for they haue made peace with Ioshua and with the children of Israel.
5 Da kamen zuhauf und zogen hinauf die fünf Könige der Amoriter: der König zu Jerusalem, der König zu Hebron, der König zu Jarmuth, der König zu Lachis, der König zu Eglon, mit all ihrem Heerlager und belegten Gibeon und stritten wider sie.
Therefore the fiue Kings of the Amorites, the King of Ierusalem, the King of Hebron, the King of Iarmuth, the King of Lachish, and the King of Eglon gathered themselues together, and went vp, they with all their hostes, and besieged Gibeon, and made warre against it.
6 Aber die zu Gibeon sandten zu Josua ins Lager gen Gilgal und ließen ihm sagen: Zeuch deine Hand nicht ab von deinen Knechten! Komm zu uns herauf eilend, rette und hilf uns; denn es haben sich wider uns zusammengeschlagen alle Könige der Amoriter, die auf dem Gebirge wohnen.
And the men of Gibeon sent vnto Ioshua, euen to the hoste to Gilgal, saying, Withdrawe not thine hand from thy seruants: come vp to vs quickly, and saue vs, and helpe vs: for all the Kings of the Amorites which dwell in the mountaines, are gathered together against vs.
7 Josua zog hinauf von Gilgal, und alles Kriegsvolk mit ihm und alle streitbaren Männer.
So Ioshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of warre with him, and all the men of might.
8 Und der HERR sprach zu Josua: Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen, denn ich habe sie in deine Hände gegeben; niemand unter ihnen wird vor dir stehen können.
And the Lord sayd vnto Ioshua, Feare them not: for I haue giuen them into thine hand: none of them shall stand against thee.
9 Also kam Josua plötzlich über sie, denn die ganze Nacht zog er herauf von
Ioshua therefore came vnto them suddenly: for he went vp from Gilgal all the night.
10 Aber der HERR schreckte sie vor Israel, daß sie eine große Schlacht schlugen zu Gibeon, und jagten ihnen nach den Weg hinan zu Beth-Horon und schlugen sie bis gen Aseka und Makeda.
And the Lord discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth vp to Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah and to Makkedah.
11 Und da sie vor Israel flohen den Weg herab zu Beth-Horon, ließ der HERR einen großen Hagel vom Himmel auf sie fallen bis gen Aseka, daß sie starben. Und viel mehr starben ihrer von dem Hagel, denn die Kinder Israel mit dem Schwert erwürgeten.
And as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going downe to Beth-horon, the Lord cast downe great stones from heauen vpon them, vntill Azekah, and they dyed: they were more that dyed with the hailestones, then they whom the children of Israel slewe with the sword.
12 Da redete Josua mit dem HERRN des Tages, da der HERR die Amoriter übergab vor den Kindern Israel, und sprach vor gegenwärtigem Israel: Sonne, stehe still zu Gibeon, und Mond, im Tal Ajalon!
Then spake Ioshua to the Lord, in the day when the Lord gaue the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he sayd in the sight of Israel, Sunne, stay thou in Gibeon, and thou moone, in the valley of Aialon.
13 Da stund die Sonne und der Mond stille, bis daß sich das Volk an seinen Feinden rächete. Ist dies nicht geschrieben im Buch des Frommen? Also stund die Sonne mitten am Himmel und verzog unterzugehen einen ganzen Tag.
And the Sunne abode, and the moone stood still, vntill the people auenged themselues vpon their enemies: (Is not this written in the booke of Iasher?) so the Sunne abode in the middes of the heauen, and hasted not to goe downe for a whole day.
14 Und war kein Tag diesem gleich, weder zuvor noch danach, da der HERR der Stimme eines Mannes gehorchte; denn der HERR stritt für Israel.
And there was no day like that before it, nor after it, that the Lord heard the voyce of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.
15 Josua aber zog wieder ins Lager gen Gilgal und das ganze Israel mit ihm.
After, Ioshua returned, and all Israel with him vnto the campe to Gilgal:
16 Aber die fünf Könige waren geflohen und hatten sich versteckt in die Höhle zu Makeda.
But the fiue Kings fled and were hid in a caue at Makkedah.
17 Da ward Josua angesagt: Wir haben die fünf Könige gefunden, verborgen in der Höhle zu Makeda.
And it was tolde Ioshua, saying, The fiue Kings are found hid in a caue at Makkedah.
18 Josua sprach: So wälzet große Steine vor das Loch der Höhle und bestellet Männer davor, die ihrer hüten.
Then Ioshua said, Roule great stones vpon the mouth of the caue, and set men by it for to keepe them.
19 Ihr aber stehet nicht stille, sondern jaget euren Feinden nach und schlaget ihre Hintersten; und lasset sie nicht in ihre Städte kommen, denn der HERR, euer Gott, hat sie in eure Hände gegeben.
But stand ye not still: follow after your enemies, and smite all the hindmost, suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the Lord your God hath giuen them into your hand.
20 Und da Josua und die Kinder Israel vollendet hatten diese sehr große Schlacht an ihnen und gar geschlagen: was überblieb von ihnen, das kam in die festen Städte.
And when Ioshua and the children of Israel had made an ende of slaying them with an exceeding great slaughter till they were consumed, and the rest that remained of them were entred into walled cities,
21 Also kam alles Volk wieder ins Lager zu Josua gen Makeda mit Frieden, und durfte niemand vor den Kindern Israel seine Zunge regen.
Then all the people returned to the campe, to Ioshua at Makkedah in peace: no man mooued his tongue against the children of Israel.
22 Josua aber sprach: Machet auf das Loch der Höhle und bringet hervor die fünf Könige zu mir!
After, Ioshua sayd, Open the mouth of the caue, and bring out these fiue Kings vnto me forth of the caue.
23 Sie taten also und brachten die fünf Könige zu ihm aus der Höhle: den König zu Jerusalem, den König zu Hebron, den König zu Jarmuth, den König zu Lachis, den König zu Eglon.
And they did so, and brought out those fiue Kings vnto him forth of the caue, euen the King of Ierusalem, the King of Hebron, ye King of Iarmuth, the King of Lachish, and the King of Eglon.
24 Da aber die fünf Könige zu ihm herausgebracht waren, rief Josua dem ganzen Israel und sprach zu den Obersten des Kriegsvolks, die mit ihm zogen: Kommt herzu und tretet diesen Königen mit Füßen auf die Hälse! Und sie kamen herzu und traten mit Füßen auf ihre Hälse.
And when they had brought out those Kings vnto Ioshua, Ioshua called for all the men of Israel, and sayd vnto the chiefe of the men of warre, which went with him, Come neere, set your feete vpon the necks of these Kings: and they came neere and set their feete vpon their necks.
25 Und Josua sprach zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht und erschrecket nicht, seid getrost und unverzagt; denn also wird der HERR allen euren Feinden tun, wider die ihr streitet.
And Ioshua sayd vnto them, Feare not, nor be faint hearted, but be strong and of a good courage: for thus will the Lord doe to all your enemies, against whome ye fight.
26 Und Josua schlug sie danach und tötete sie und hing sie auf fünf Bäume; und sie hingen an den Bäumen bis zum Abend.
So then Ioshua smote them, and slewe them, and hanged them on fiue trees, and they hanged still vpon the trees vntill the euening.
27 Da aber die Sonne war untergegangen, gebot er, daß man sie von den Bäumen nähme und würfe sie in die Höhle, darinnen sie sich verkrochen hatten; und legten große Steine vor der Höhle Loch. Die sind noch da auf diesen Tag.
And at the going downe of the sunne, Ioshua gaue commandement, that they should take them downe off the trees, and cast them into the caue (wherein they had bene hid) and they layde great stones vpon the caues mouth, which remaine vntill this day.
28 Desselben Tages gewann Josua auch Makeda und schlug sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts, dazu ihren König, und verbannete sie und alle Seelen, die drinnen waren, und ließ niemand überbleiben; und tat dem Könige zu Makeda, wie er dem Könige zu Jericho getan hatte.
And that same day Ioshua tooke Makkedah and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the King thereof destroyed he with them, and all the soules that were therein, he let none remaine: for hee did to the King of Makkedah as he had done vnto the King of Iericho.
29 Da zog Josua und das ganze Israel mit ihm von Makeda gen Libna und stritt wider sie.
Then Ioshua went from Makkedah, and all Israel with him vnto Libnah, and fought against Libnah.
30 Und der HERR gab dieselbige auch in die Hand Israels mit ihrem Könige, und er schlug sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts und alle Seelen, die drinnen waren, und ließ niemand drinnen überbleiben; und tat ihrem Könige, wie er dem Könige zu Jericho getan hatte.
And the Lord gaue it also and the King thereof into the hand of Israel: and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the soules that were therein: he let none remaine in it: for he did vnto the King thereof, as he had done vnto the King of Iericho.
31 Danach zog Josua und das ganze Israel mit ihm von Libna gen Lachis und belegten und bestritten sie.
And Ioshua departed from Libnah, and all Israel with him vnto Lachish, and besieged it, and assaulted it.
32 Und der HERR gab Lachis auch in die Hände Israels, daß sie sie des andern Tages gewannen, und schlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts und alle Seelen, die drinnen waren, allerdinge wie er Libna getan hatte.
And the Lord gaue Lachish into the hand of Israel, which tooke it the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the soules that were therein, according to all as he had done to Libnah.
33 Zu derselbigen Zeit zog Horam, der König zu Geser, hinauf, Lachis zu helfen; aber Josua schlug ihn mit all seinem Volk, bis daß niemand drinnen überblieb.
Then Horam King of Gezer came vp to helpe Lachish: but Ioshua smote him and his people, vntill none of his remained.
34 Und Josua zog von Lachis samt dem ganzen Israel gen Eglon und belegte und bestritt sie.
And from Lachish Ioshua departed vnto Eglon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged it, and assaulted it,
35 Und gewann sie desselbigen Tages und schlug sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts; und verbannete alle Seelen, die drinnen waren, desselbigen Tages, allerdinge wie er Lachis getan hatte.
And they tooke it the same day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the soules that were therein he vtterly destroyed the same day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.
36 Danach zog Josua hinauf samt dem ganzen Israel von Eglon gen Hebron und bestritt sie.
Then Ioshua went vp from Eglon, and all Israel with him vnto Hebron, and they fought against it.
37 Und gewann sie und schlug sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts und ihren König mit allen ihren Städten und alle Seelen, die drinnen waren; und ließ niemand überbleiben, allerdinge wie er Eglon getan hatte, und verbannete sie und alle Seelen, die drinnen waren.
And when they had taken it, they smote it with the edge of the sword, and the King thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the soules that were therein: he left none remaining, according to all as he had done to Eglon: for he destroyed it vtterly, and all the soules that were therein.
38 Da kehrete Josua wieder um samt dem ganzen Israel gen Debir und bestritt sie
So Ioshua returned, and all Israel with him to Debir, and fought against it.
39 und gewann sie samt ihrem Könige und alle ihre Städte; und schlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts und verbanneten alle Seelen, die drinnen waren, und ließ niemand überbleiben. Wie er Hebron getan hatte, so tat er auch Debir und ihrem Könige, und wie er Libna und ihrem Könige getan hatte.
And when he had taken it, and the King thereof, and all the citie thereof, they smote them with the edge of the sword, and vtterly destroyed all the soules that were therein, he let none remaine: as he did to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the King thereof, as he had also done to Libnah, and to the King thereof.
40 Also schlug Josua alles Land auf dem Gebirge und gegen Mittag und in den Gründen und an den Bächen mit allen ihren Königen; und ließ niemand überbleiben und verbannete alles, was Odem hatte, wie der HERR, der Gott Israels, geboten hatte.
So Ioshua smote all the hill countreys, and the South countreys, and the valleys, and the hill sides, and all their Kings, and let none remaine, but vtterly destroyed euery soule, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded.
41 Und schlug sie von Kades-Barnea an bis gen Gasa und das ganze Land Gosen bis gen Gibeon.
And Ioshua smote them from Kadesh-barnea euen vnto Azzah, and all the countrey of Goshen, euen vnto Gibeon.
42 Und gewann alle diese Könige mit ihrem Lande auf einmal; denn der HERR, der Gott Israels, stritt für Israel.
And all these Kings, and their land did Ioshua take at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.
43 Und Josua zog wieder ins Lager gen Gilgal mit dem ganzen Israel.
Afterward, Ioshua and all Israel with him returned vnto the campe in Gilgal.
