2 Samuel 21
1 Es war auch eine Teurung zu Davids Zeiten, drei Jahre aneinander; und David suchte das Angesicht des HERRN. Und der HERR sprach: Um Sauls willen und um des Bluthauses willen, daß er die Gibeoniter getötet hat.
Now there was a famine in the days of David for three consecutive years, so David sought the face of the LORD. And the LORD said, "There is bloodguilt on Saul and on his house, because he murdered the Gibeonites."
2 Da ließ der König die Gibeoniter rufen und sprach zu ihnen. (Die Gibeoniter aber waren nicht von den Kindern Israel, sondern übrig von den Amoritern; aber die Kinder Israel hatten ihnen geschworen, und Saul suchte sie zu schlagen in seinem Eifer für die Kinder Israel und Juda.)
So the king summoned the Gibeonites, and spoke to them. (Now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel but of the remnant of the Amorites. And the children of Israel had sworn to them, but Saul sought to exterminate them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah.)
3 So sprach nun David zu den Gibeonitern: Was soll ich euch tun, und womit soll ich sühnen, daß ihr das Erbteil des HERRN segnet?
And David said to the Gibeonites, "What can I do for you? And how can I make atonement, that you may bless the inheritance of the LORD?"
4 Die Gibeoniter sprachen zu ihm: Es ist uns nicht um Gold noch Silber zu tun an Saul und seinem Hause und ist uns nicht zu tun, um jemand zu töten in Israel. Er sprach: Was sprechet ihr denn, daß ich euch tun soll?
The Gibeonites said to him, "It is not a matter of silver or gold between us and Saul or his house, nor is it our place to put anyone to death in Israel." Then he said, "What do you want? For I will do it for you."
5 Sie sprachen zum Könige: Den Mann, der uns verderbet und zunichte gemacht hat, sollen wir vertilgen, daß ihm nichts bleibe in allen Grenzen Israels.
So they said to the king, "The man who opposed us and persecuted us, who meant to eradicate us from having a place anywhere in the territory of Israel,
6 Gebet uns sieben Männer aus seinem Hause, daß wir sie aufhängen dem HERRN zu Gibea Sauls, des Erwählten des HERRN. Der König sprach: Ich will sie geben.
let seven of his sons be delivered to us, and we will hang them before the LORD at Gibeon on the mountain of the LORD." And the king replied, "I will do it."
7 Aber der König verschonete Mephiboseths, des Sohns Jonathans, des Sohns Sauls, um des Eides willen des HERRN, der zwischen ihnen war, nämlich zwischen David und Jonathan, dem Sohn Sauls.
But the king spared Mippibaal, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the LORD's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
8 Aber die zween Söhne Rizpas, der Tochter Ajas, die sie Saul geboren hatte, Armoni und Mephiboseth; dazu die fünf Söhne Michals, der Tochter Sauls, die sie dem Adriel geboren hatte, dem Sohn Barsillais, des Mahalothiters, nahm der König
But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mippibaal; and the five sons of Merob the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite.
9 und gab sie in die Hand der Gibeoniter; die hingen sie auf dem Berge vor dem HERRN. Also fielen diese sieben auf einmal und starben zur Zeit der ersten Ernte, wenn die Gerstenernte angehet.
And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them on the mountain before the LORD, and all seven of them fell together. And they were put to death in the first days of harvest at the beginning of barley harvest.
10 Da nahm Rizpa, die Tochter Ajas, einen Sack und breitete ihn auf den Fels am Anfang der Ernte, bis das Wasser vom Himmel über sie troff; und ließ des Tages die Vögel des Himmels nicht auf ihnen ruhen; noch des Nachts die Tiere des Feldes.
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it for herself on a rock, from the beginning of harvest until it rained on them from the sky. And she did not allow the birds of the sky to rest on them by day, nor the wild animals by night.
11 Und es ward David angesagt, was Rizpa, die Tochter Ajas, Sauls Kebsweib, getan hatte.
It was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the secondary wife of Saul, had done.
12 Und David ging hin und nahm die Gebeine Sauls und die Gebeine Jonathans, seines Sohns, von den Bürgern zu Jabes in Gilead, die sie von der Gasse Beth-San gestohlen hatten, dahin sie die Philister gehänget hatten zu der Zeit, da die Philister Saul schlugen auf dem Berge Gilboa.
Then David went and obtained the bones of Saul and the bones of his son Jonathan from the citizens of Jabesh Gilead, who had stolen them from the public square of Beth Shan, where the Philistines had hung them on the day that the Philistines killed Saul on Gilboa;
13 Und brachte sie von dannen herauf; und sammelten sie zu Haufen mit den Gebeinen der Gehenkten.
and he brought up from there the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son. And they gathered the bones of those who were hanged.
14 Und begruben die Gebeine Sauls und seines Sohns Jonathan im Lande Benjamin, zu Zela, im Grabe seines Vaters Kis; und taten alles, wie der König geboten hatte. Also ward Gott nach diesem dem Lande wieder versöhnet.
And he buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan in the land of Benjamin in Zela, in the tomb of Kish his father. And they performed all that the king commanded. After that God responded to prayers for the land.
15 Es erhub sich aber wieder ein Krieg von den Philistern wider Israel; und David zog hinab und seine Knechte mit ihm und stritten wider die Philister. Und David ward müde.
The Philistines had war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines. Now David became exhausted,
16 Und Jesbi zu Nob (welcher war der Kinder Raphas einer, und das Gewicht seines Speers war dreihundert Gewicht Erz und hatte neue Waffen), der gedachte David zu schlagen.
and Dodo son of Joash, of the descendants of the Raphah, captured him. His spear weighed three hundred bronze shekels, and he was girded with a new sword, and he thought he could kill David.
17 Aber Abisai, der Sohn Zerujas, half ihm und schlug den Philister tot. Da schwuren ihm die Männer Davids und sprachen: Du sollst nicht mehr mit uns ausziehen in den Streit, daß nicht die Leuchte in Israel verlösche.
But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him and struck the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David took an oath, saying, "You must not go out to battle with us again, so that you do not extinguish the lamp of Israel."
18 Danach erhub sich noch ein Krieg zu Nob mit den Philistern. Da schlug Sibechai, der Husathiter, den Saph, welcher auch der Kinder Raphas einer war.
Now it came to pass after this that there was another battle with the Philistines at Gezer. Then Sibbekai the Hushathite killed Saph, a descendant of the Raphah.
19 Und es erhub sich noch ein Krieg zu Gob mit den Philistern. Da schlug Elhanan, der Sohn Jaere-Orgims, ein Bethlehemiter, den Goliath, den Gethiter, welcher hatte einen Spieß, des Stange war wie ein Weberbaum.
There was again war with the Philistines at Gob; and Elhanan the son of Jair the Bethlehemite killed the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
20 Und es erhub sich noch ein Krieg zu Gath. Da war ein langer Mann, der hatte sechs Finger an seinen Händen und sechs Zehen an seinen Füßen, das ist vierundzwanzig an der Zahl; und er war auch geboren von Rapha.
There was another battle at Gath, where there was a man of great stature who had on six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot, twenty four in number, and he also was a descendant of Raphah.
21 Und da er Israel Hohn sprach, schlug ihn Jonathan, der Sohn Simeas, des Bruders Davids.
When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimeah, David's brother, killed him.
22 Diese vier waren geboren dem Rapha zu Gath und fielen durch die Hand Davids und seiner Knechte.
These four were descendants of Raphah in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
