2 Chronik 15

1 Und auf Asarja, den Sohn Odeds, kam der Geist Gottes.

The Spirit of God came on Azariah the son of Oded:

2 Der ging hinaus Assa entgegen und sprach zu ihm: Höret mir zu, Assa und ganz Juda und Benjamin! Der HERR ist mit euch, weil ihr mit ihm seid; und wenn ihr ihn suchet, wird er sich von euch finden lassen; werdet ihr aber ihn verlassen, so wird er euch auch verlassen.

and he went out to meet Asa, and said to him, "Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you, while you are with him; and if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.

3 Es werden aber viel Tage sein in Israel, daß kein rechter Gott, kein Priester, der da lehret, und kein Gesetz sein wird.

Now for a long time Israel was without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.

4 Und wenn sie sich bekehren in ihrer Not zu dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, und werden ihn suchen, so wird er sich finden lassen.

But when in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, he was found by them.

5 Zu der Zeit wird's nicht wohlgehen dem, der aus- und eingehet. Denn es werden große Getümmel sein über alle, die auf Erden wohnen.

In those times there was no peace to him who went out, nor to him who came in; but great troubles were on all the inhabitants of the lands.

6 Denn ein Volk wird das andere zerschmeißen und eine Stadt die andere; denn Gott wird sie erschrecken mit allerlei Angst.

They were broken in pieces, nation against nation, and city against city; for God troubled them with all adversity.

7 Ihr aber seid getrost und tut eure Hände nicht ab, denn euer Werk hat seinen Lohn.

But you be strong, and do not let your hands be slack; for your work shall be rewarded."

8 Da aber Assa hörete diese Worte und die Weissagung Odeds, des Propheten, ward er getrost und tat weg die Greuel aus dem ganzen Lande Juda und Benjamin und aus den Städten, die er gewonnen hatte auf dem Gebirge Ephraim, und erneuerte den Altar des HERRN, der vor der Halle des HERRN stund.

When Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Azariah the son of Oded the prophet, he took courage and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin and out of the cities which he had taken from the hill country of Ephraim; and he renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the vestibule of the LORD.

9 Und versammelte das ganze Juda und Benjamin und die Fremdlinge bei ihnen aus Ephraim, Manasse und Simeon. Denn es fielen zu ihm aus Israel die Menge, als sie sahen, daß der HERR, sein Gott, mit ihm war.

He gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those who lived with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

10 Und sie versammelten sich gen Jerusalem des dritten Monden, im fünfzehnten Jahr des Königreichs Assa,

So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.

11 und opferten desselben Tages dem HERRN von dem Raube, den sie gebracht hatten, siebenhundert Ochsen und siebentausend Schafe.

They sacrificed to the LORD in that day, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred head of cattle and seven thousand sheep.

12 Und sie traten in den Bund, daß sie suchten den HERRN, ihrer Väter Gott, von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele.

They entered into the covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul;

13 Und wer nicht würde den HERRN, den Gott Israels, suchen, sollte sterben, beide klein und groß, beide Mann und Weib.

and that whoever would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

14 Und sie schwuren dem HERRN mit lauter Stimme, mit Tönen, mit Trommeten und Posaunen.

They swore to the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.

15 Und das ganze Juda war fröhlich über dem Eide; denn sie hatten geschworen von ganzem Herzen und sie suchten ihn von ganzem Willen, und er ließ sich von ihnen finden; und der HERR gab ihnen Ruhe umher.

All Judah rejoiced at the oath; for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest all around.

16 Auch setzte Assa, der König, ab Maecha, seine Mutter, vom Amt, das sie gestiftet hatte im Hain Miplezeth. Und Assa rottete ihren Miplezeth aus und zerstieß ihn und verbrannte ihn im Bach Kidron.

Also Maacah, the mother of Asa the king, he removed from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; and Asa cut down her image, and made dust of it, and burnt it in the Kidron Valley.

17 Aber die Höhen in Israel wurden nicht abgetan; doch war das Herz Assas rechtschaffen sein Leben lang.

But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.

18 Und er brachte ein, was sein Vater geheiliget und was er geheiliget hatte, ins Haus Gottes, Silber, Gold und Gefäße.

He brought into God's house the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.

19 Und es war kein Streit bis in das fünfunddreißigste Jahr des Königreichs Assas.

There was no more war to the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.
