Psalm 87

1 Von den Korachiten. Ein Psalm. Ein Lied. Seine Gründung liegt auf heiligen Bergen.

Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. A Song. His foundation is in the mountains of holiness.

2 Jahwe liebt die Thore Zions mehr, denn alle anderen Wohnstätten Jakobs.

Jehovah loveth the gates of Zion more than all the habitations of Jacob.

3 Herrliches ist von dir verheißen, du Stadt Gottes! (Sela)

Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. (Selah)

4 “Ich nenne Rahab und Babel meine Bekenner, ja Philistäa und Tyrus samt Kusch: dieser ist dort geboren!”

I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon among them that know me; behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: this [man] was born there.

5 Aber von Zion wird es heißen: “Mann für Mann ist in ihr geboren und er, der Höchste, festigt sie.”

And of Zion it shall be said, This one and that one was born in her; and the Most High himself shall establish her.

6 Jahwe wird zählen, wenn er die Völker verzeichnet: “Dieser ist dort geboren.” (Sela)

Jehovah will count, when he inscribeth the peoples, This [man] was born there. (Selah)

7 Und man singt, wie solche, die den Reigen tanzen; alle meine Quellen sind in dir.

As well the singers as the dancers [shall say], All my springs are in thee.
