Psalm 65
1 Dem Musikmeister. Ein Psalm Davids. Ein Lied. Dir gebührt Lobpreis, o Gott, auf Zion, und dir bezahle man Gelübde!
Praise waits for thee, O God, in Zion. And to thee the vow shall be performed.
2 Der du Gebete hörst, zu dir kommt alles Fleisch.
O thou who hear prayer, to thee all flesh shall come.
3 Meine Verschuldungen hatten mich überwältigt, aber du deckst unsere Vergehungen zu.
Iniquities prevail against me. As for our transgressions, thou will forgive them.
4 Wohl dem, den du erwählst und nahen lässest, daß er in deinen Vorhöfen wohne, damit wir uns ersättigen an den Gütern deines Hauses, deines heiligen Tempels.
Blessed is the man whom thou choose and cause to approach, that he may dwell in thy courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, thy holy temple.
5 Mit furchtbaren Thaten antwortest du uns nach deiner Gerechtigkeit, du Gott, der du unser Heil bist, du Zuversicht aller der fernen Enden der Erde und des Meers,
By awesome things thou will answer us in righteousness, O God of our salvation, thou who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of those who are afar off upon the sea,
6 der durch seine Kraft die Berge feststellt, mit Stärke gegürtet ist,
who by his strength sets firm the mountains, being girded about with might,
7 der das Brausen des Meeres stillt, das Brausen seiner Wellen und das Toben der Völker,
who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples.
8 so daß sich die Bewohner der äußersten Enden vor deinem Zeichen fürchten: die Länder gegen Morgen und gegen Abend versetzest du in Jubel.
They also who dwell in the outermost parts are afraid at thy signs. Thou make the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.
9 Du hast das Land heimgesucht und hast es getränkt, hast es gar reich gemacht mit einem Gottesbache voll Wasser, bereitest Getreide für sie, denn also bereitest du das Land.
Thou visit the earth, and water it; thou greatly enrich it. The river of God is full of water. Thou provide them grain when thou have so prepared the earth.
10 Du tränkst seine Furchen, lockerst seine Schollen, weichst es durch Regenschauer auf, segnest sein Gewächs.
Thou water its furrows abundantly. Thou settle the ridges of it. Thou make it soft with showers. Thou bless the springing of it.
11 Du kröntest das Jahr mit deiner Güte, und deine Geleise triefen von Fett.
Thou crown the year with thy goodness, and thy paths drop fatness.
12 Es triefen die Auen der Steppe, und mit Jubel gürten sich die Hügel.
They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness, and the hills are girded with joy.
13 Die Anger sind mit Herden von Schafen bekleidet, und die Thalgründe hüllen sich in Korn: sie jauchzen einander zu und singen.
The pastures are clothed with flocks. The valleys also are covered over with grain. They shout for joy; they also sing.
