Psalm 60
1 Dem Musikmeister, nach “Lilie des Zeugnisses”. Ein Mikhtam von David, zum Lehren, als er mit den Aramäern von Mesopotamien und den Aramäern von Zoba stritt, und Joab umkehrte und die Edomiter im Salzthale schlug, zwölftausend Mann. Gott, du hast uns verworfen, hast und zersprengt; du zürntest - stelle uns wieder her!
To the chief Musician upon Shushan-eduth, Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand. O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.
2 Du hast die Erde erschüttert, hast sie gespalten; heile ihre Brüche, denn sie wankt!
Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
3 Du ließest dein Volk Schweres erleben, tränktest uns mit Taumelwein.
Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.
4 Du gabst denen, die dich fürchten, ein Panier, sich zu erheben um der Wahrheit willen. (Sela)
Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. (Selah)
5 Damit deine Geliebten errettet werden, so hilf nun mit deiner Rechten und erhöre uns.
That thy beloved may be delivered; save [with] thy right hand, and hear me.
6 Gott hat in seinem Heiligtume geredet: “Ich will frohlocken! Ich will Sichem verteilen und das Thal Sukkoth ausmessen.
God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
7 Mein ist Gilead und mein ist Manasse, und Ephraim ist die Schutzwehr meines Hauptes, Juda mein Herrscherstab!
Gilead [is] mine, and Manasseh [is] mine; Ephraim also [is] the strength of mine head; Judah [is] my lawgiver;
8 Moab ist mein Waschbecken; auf Edom werfe ich meinen Schuh, über Philistäa jauchze ich”.
Moab [is] my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.
9 Wer führt mich nach der festen Stadt? Wer geleitet mich nach Edom?
Who will bring me [into] the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
10 Hast nicht du, o Gott, uns verworfen und ziehst nicht aus, o Gott, mit unseren Heeren?
[Wilt] not thou, O God, [which] hadst cast us off? and [thou], O God, [which] didst not go out with our armies?
11 Schaffe uns Hilfe gegen den Feind,
Give us help from trouble: for vain [is] the help of man.
12 Mit Gott werden wir Heldenthaten verrichten,
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he [it is that] shall tread down our enemies.
