Psalm 52
1 Dem Musikmeister. Ein Maskil von David, als der Edomiter Doeg kam und Saul meldete und zu ihm sprach: David ist ins Haus Ahimelechs gekommen. Was rühmst du dich der Bosheit, du Tyrann? Die Gnade Gottes währt allezeit!
For the Chief Musician. Maschil of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God [endureth] continually.
2 Deine Zunge sinnt Verderben wie ein scharfes Schermesser, du Arglist Verübender!
Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3 Du willst lieber Böses, als Gutes, redest lieber Lügen, als Wahrheit. (Sela)
Thou lovest evil more than good, And lying rather than to speak righteousness. (Selah)
4 Du willst nur verderbliche Reden, nur trügerische Zunge.
Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
5 So wird dich Gott auch für immer zertrümmern, dich wegraffen und aus dem Zelte reißen und dich auswurzeln aus dem Lande der Lebendigen. (Sela)
God will likewise destroy thee for ever; He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, And root thee out of the land of the living. (Selah)
6 Die Frommen aber werden es sehen und sich fürchten und werden über ihn lachen:
The righteous also shall see [it], and fear, And shall laugh at him, [saying],
7 “Das ist der Mann, der Gott nicht zu seiner Schutzwehr machte, sondern sich auf seinen großen Reichtum verließ und auf seine Schätze trotzte!”
Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.
8 Ich aber bin wie ein grünender Ölbaum im Hause Gottes, verlasse mich auf Gottes Gnade immer und ewig.
But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I trust in the lovingkindness of God for ever and ever.
9 Ich will dich immerdar preisen, daß du es gethan hast, will angesichts deiner Frommen verkündigen, daß dein Name so gütig ist.
I will give thee thanks for ever, because thou hast done it; And I will hope in thy name, for it is good, in the presence of thy saints.
