Psalm 35
1 Von David. Streite, Jahwe, mit denen, die wider mich streiten; kämpfe mit denen, die wider mich kämpfen.
[A Psalm] of David. Plead [my cause], O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
2 Ergreife Schild und Tartsche und erhebe dich als Hilfe für mich.
Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help.
3 Ziehe die Lanze heraus und sperre den Weg entgegen meinen Verfolgern; sprich zu meiner Seele: Ich bin deine Hilfe!
Draw out also the spear, and stop [the way] against them that persecute me: say to my soul, I [am] thy salvation.
4 Beschämt und zu Schanden müssen werden, die mir nach dem Leben trachten, zurückweichen und enttäuscht werden, die mein Unglück sinnen.
Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
5 Sie müssen wie Spreu vor dem Winde werden, indem sie der Engel Jahwes umstößt.
Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase [them].
6 Ihr Weg müsse finster und schlüpfrig sein, während sie der Engel Jahwes verfolgt.
Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.
7 Denn ohne Ursache haben sie mir heimlich ihr Netz gelegt, ohne Ursache mir eine Grube gegraben.
For without cause they have hid for me their net [in] a pit, [which] without cause they have digged for my soul.
8 Möge ihn unversehens Verderben überfallen, und sein Netz, das er heimlich gelegt, ihn fangen: ins Verderben stürze er hinein!
Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.
9 Aber meine Seele wird über Jahwe frohlocken, sich über seine Hilfe freun!
And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
10 Alle meine Gebeine werden sprechen: “Jahwe, wer ist wie du? der den Elenden errettet von dem, der ihm zu stark ist, und den Elenden und Armen von dem, der ihn beraubt.”
All my bones shall say, LORD, who [is] like thee, who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, even the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?
11 Es treten frevelhafte Zeugen auf; wovon ich nichts weiß, danach fragen sie mich.
False witnesses arose; they laid to my charge [things] that I knew not.
12 Sie vergelten mir Böses für Gutes, Kinderlosigkeit ward mir zu teil.
They rewarded me evil for good [to] the spoiling of my soul.
13 Ich aber bekleidete mich, als sie krank waren, mit einem Trauergewand, kasteite mich mit Fasten, und mein Gebet kehrte zurück in meinen Busen.
But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing [was] sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into my own bosom.
14 Wie um einen Freund, einen Bruder von mir ging ich trauernd einher, war gebeugt wie einer, der um seine Mutter trauert.
I behaved myself as though [he had been] my friend [or] brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth [for his] mother.
15 Aber bei meinem Falle freuen sie sich und rotten sich wider mich zusammen. Es rotten sich Fremde wider mich zusammen und die ich nicht kenne; sie lästern ohne Aufhören.
But in my adversity they rejoiced, and assembled themselves: [yes], the abjects assembled themselves against me, and I knew [it] not; they did tear [me], and ceased not:
16 Sie höhnen mich, spotten und spotten, indem sie gegen mich mit den Zähnen knirschen.
With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
17 O Herr, wie lange willst du zusehen? Erquicke meine Seele und befreie sie von ihrem Gebrüll, von den jungen Löwen meine Verlassene.
LORD, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.
18 Ich will dich preisen in großer Versammlung, unter zahlreichem Volke dich rühmen.
I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among many people.
19 Laß sich nicht freuen über mich, die mich grundlos befeinden, noch mit dem Auge blinzeln, die mich ohne Ursache hassen.
Let not them that are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: [neither] let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.
20 Denn sie reden nicht, was zum Frieden dient, und wider die Stillen im Land ersinnen sie trügerische Worte.
For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against [them that are] quiet in the land.
21 Sie rissen ihr Maul weit auf wider mich, riefen: “Ha, ha! Wir haben's mit eigenem Auge gesehen!”
Yes, they opened their mouth wide against me, [and] said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen [it].
22 Du hast's gesehen, Jahwe; schweige nicht! Herr, sei nicht fern von mir!
[This] thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O LORD, be not far from me.
23 Wache auf, ja erwache, mir Recht zu schaffen, mein Gott und Herr, meine Sache zu führen!
Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, [even] to my cause, my God and my LORD.
24 Schaffe mir Recht nach deiner Gerechtigkeit, Jahwe, mein Gott, und laß sie sich nicht über mich freuen!
Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.
25 Laß sie nicht in ihrem Herzen sprechen: Ha, unsere Mordlust! Laß sie nicht sprechen: Wir haben ihn zu Grunde gerichtet!
Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
26 Laß sie insgesamt beschämt und enttäuscht werden, die sich über mein Unglück freuen, in Scham und Schande sich hüllen, die wider mich groß thun.
Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at my hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify [themselves] against me.
27 Laß jubeln und sich freuen, die Gerechtigkeit für mich wollen; laß sie allezeit sprechen: Groß ist Jahwe, der das Heil seines Knechtes will!
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yes, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, who hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
28 Und meine Zunge soll deine Gerechtigkeit preisen, alle Zeit deinen Ruhm.
And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness [and] of thy praise all the day long.
