Psalm 15

1 Ein Psalm Davids. Jahwe, wer darf Gast sein in deinem Zelte, wer darf wohnen auf deinem heiligen Berge?

A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 Wer unsträflich wandelt und recht thut von von Herzen Wahrheit redet,

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

3 auf seiner Zunge nicht Verleumdung hegt, einem andern nichts Böses zufügt und nicht Schmach auf seinen Nächsten lädt;

[He that] backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

4 dem der von Gott Verworfene als verächtlich gilt, der aber die, die Jahwe fürchten, in Ehren hält, der, wann er zu seinem Schaden geschworen hat, es doch nicht abändert;

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. [He that] sweareth to [his own] hurt, and changeth not.

5 der sein Geld nicht um Zins giebt und nicht Bestechung gegen den Unschuldigen annimmt - wer so handelt, wird nimmermehr wanken!

[He that] putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these [things] shall never be moved.
