Psalm 132

1 Wallfahrtslieder. Gedenke, Jahwe, David, all' seine Mühsal!

“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up.” O LORD! remember David, And all his affliction!

2 ihm, der Jahwe schwur, dem Starken Jakobs gelobte:

How he sware to Jehovah, And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:

3 “Ich will mein Wohngezelt nicht betreten, noch das Bett meines Lagers besteigen,

“I will not go into my house, Nor lie down on my bed,

4 “will meinen Augen keinen Schlaf gönnen, meinen Wimpern keinen Schlummer,

I will not give sleep to my eyes, Nor slumber to my eyelids,

5 “bis ich für Jahwe eine Stätte gefunden, eine Wohnung für den Starken Jakobs.”

Until I find a place for Jehovah, A habitation for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

6 Siehe, wir haben von ihr gehört in Ephrat, haben sie gefunden in Waldgefilden.

Behold, we heard of it at Ephratah; We found it in the fields of the forest.

7 Laßt uns in seine Wohnung eingehen, vor dem Schemel seiner Füße niederfallen!

Let us go into his habitation; Let us worship at his footstool!

8 Brich auf, Jahwe, nach deiner Ruhestätte, du und deine mächtige Lade!

Arise, O LORD! into thy rest, Thou, and the ark of thy strength!

9 Deine Priester seien angethan mit rechtem Verhalten, und deine Frommen mögen jubeln!

Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness, And thy holy ones shout for joy!

10 Um deines Knechtes Davids willen weise deinen Gesalbten nicht ab!

For the sake of thy servant David, Reject not the prayer of thine anointed!

11 Jahwe hat David einen wahrhaftigen Eid geschworen, von dem er nicht abgehen wird: “Einen, der deinem Leib entsprossen, will ich auf deinen Thron setzen!”

Jehovah hath sworn in truth unto David, And he will not depart from it: “Of the fruit of thy body will I place upon the throne for thee.

12 Wenn deine Söhne meinen Bund beobachten und meine Zeugnisse, die ich sie lehren werde, so sollen auch ihre Söhne für immer auf deinem Throne sitzen.

If thy children keep my covenant, And my statutes, which I teach them, Their children also throughout all ages Shall sit upon thy throne.”

13 Denn Jahwe hat Zion erwählt, hat es zum Wohnsitze für sich begehrt:

For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it as his dwelling-place.

14 “Dies ist für immer meine Ruhestätte; hier will ich wohnen, denn nach ihr verlangte ich.

“This is my resting-place for ever; Here will I dwell, for I have chosen it.

15 “Ich will Zion reichlich segnen, ihre Armen mit Brot sättigen.

I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread.

16 “Ihre Priester will ich mit Heil bekleiden, und ihre Frommen sollen fröhlich jubeln.

I will also clothe her priests with salvation, And her holy ones shall shout aloud for joy.

17 “Daselbst will ich David Macht verleihen, eine Leuchte zurichten meinem Gesalbten.

There will I cause to spring forth a horn for David; I have prepared a light for mine anointed.

18 “Seine Feinde will ich in Schande kleiden, doch auf ihm soll seine Krone glänzen!”

His enemies will I clothe with shame, And the crown shall glitter upon his head.”
