Psalm 121

1 Ein Lied für die Wallfahrten. Ich hebe meine Augen zu den Bergen auf: von wo wird Hilfe für mich kommen?

“A song for the degrees.” I lift up my eyes unto the mountains: whence shall come my help?

2 Meine Hilfe kommt von Jahwe, dem Schöpfer Himmels und der Erde.

My help is from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.

3 Er wird deinen Fuß nimmermehr wanken lassen; dein Hüter schläft nicht.

He will not suffer thy foot to slip: thy keeper doth not slumber.

4 Fürwahr, nicht schläft, noch schlummert der Hüter Israels.

Behold, he slumbereth not, and he sleepeth not—the keeper of Israel.

5 Jahwe ist dein Hüter, Jahwe dein Schatten zu deiner rechten Hand.

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade, he is on thy right hand.

6 Am Tage wird dich die Sonne nicht stechen, noch der Mond des Nachts.

By day the sun shall not strike thee, nor the moon by night.

7 Jahwe wird dich behüten vor allem Übel, wird deine Seele behüten.

The Lord will guard thee against all evil: he will guard thy soul.

8 Jahwe wird dein Aus- und Eingehen behüten von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.

The Lord will guard thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and for evermore.
