Psalm 119
1 Wohl denen, deren Weg unsträflich ist, die nach dem Gesetze Jahwes wandeln.
[ALEPH.] How happy the men of blameless life, who walk in the law of Yahweh.
2 Wohl denen, die seine Zeugnisse beachten, ihn von ganzem Herzen suchen,
How happy they who observe his testimonies, with a whole heart, they seek him.
3 auch keinen Frevel verübt haben, sondern auf seinen Wegen gewandelt sind.
Yea, they have not wrought perversity, In his ways, have they walked.
4 Du hast deine Befehle verordnet, daß man sie eifrig beobachten soll.
Thou, hast commanded thy precepts, that they should be diligently kept.
5 Möchte doch mein Wandel fest sein, daß ich deine Satzungen beobachte.
Oh would that my ways might be settled! that I might keep thy statutes.
6 Dann werde ich nicht zu Schanden werden, wenn ich auf alle deine Gebote blicke.
Then, shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7 Ich will dich mit redlichem Herzen preisen, wenn ich deine gerechten Ordnungen erlerne.
I will thank thee with uprightness of heart, when I have learned thy righteous regulations.
8 Deine Satzungen will ich beobachten: verlaß mich nicht völlig!
Thy statutes, will I keep, Do not thou forsake me utterly.
9 Wodurch kann ein Jüngling seinen Pfad rein erhalten? Indem er deine Satzungen beobachtet gemäß deinem Worte.
[BETH.] Wherewithal can a young man keep pure his way? By taking heed, according to thy word.
10 Von ganzem Herzen suche ich dich: laß mich nicht abirren von deinen Geboten!
With all my heart, have I sought thee, Suffer me not to be led astray from thy commandments.
11 In meinem Herzen berge ich dein Wort, damit ich mich nicht an dir versündige.
In my heart, have I treasured what thou hast said, to the end I may not sin against thee.
12 Gepriesen seist du, Jahwe; lehre mich deine Satzungen!
Blessed art thou, O Yahweh—Teach me thy statutes.
13 Mit meinen Lippen verkünde ich alle Ordnungen deines Mundes.
With my lips, have I recounted All the regulations of thy mouth.
14 An dem Wege, den deine Zeugnisse gebieten, freue ich mich wie über irgend welchen Reichtum.
In the way of thy testimonies, have I rejoiced, Like as over all riches.
15 Über deine Befehle will ich sinnen und deine Pfade betrachten.
In thy precepts, will I meditate, that I may discern thy paths.
16 An deinen Satzungen will ich mich ergötzen, dein Wort nicht vergessen.
In thy statutes, will I find my dear delight, I will not forget thy word.
17 Thue deinem Knechte wohl, daß ich lebe, so will ich dein Wort beobachten.
[GIMEL.] Bestow thy bounties upon thy servant—let me live, That I may observe thy word.
18 Decke meine Augen auf, damit ich erschaue Wunder aus deinem Gesetz.
Unveil thou mine eyes, that I may discern Wondrous things out of thy law.
19 Ein Gast bin ich auf Erden; verbirg deine Gebote nicht vor mir.
A sojourner, am, I, in the earth, Do not hide from me, thy commandments.
20 Meine Seele reibt sich auf vor Verlangen nach deinen Ordnungen zu jeder Zeit.
My soul is crushed with longing for thy just decisions at all times.
21 Du hast die verfluchten Übermütigen bedroht, die von deinen Geboten abirrten.
Thou hast rebuked the proud as accursed, who stray from thy commandments.
22 Wälze Schmach und Verachtung von mir ab, denn ich habe deine Zeugnisse beachtet.
Roll from off me, reproach and contempt, For, thy testimonies, have I observed.
23 Haben auch Fürsten sich hingesetzt, sich wider mich beredet - dein Knecht sinnt über deine Satzungen nach.
Even rulers have taken their seat, against me, have talked, Thy servant, will still meditate in thy statutes.
24 Ja, deine Zeugnisse sind mein Ergötzen, deine Befehle sind meine Berater.
Yea, thy testimonies, are my dear delight, My counsellors.
25 Meine Seele klebt am Staube; belebe mich gemäß deinem Worte.
[DALETH.] My soul, cleaveth to the dust, Give me life, according to thy word.
26 Ich erzählte meine Wege, da erhörtest du mich; lehre mich deine Satzungen.
My ways, I recounted, and thou didst answer me, Teach me thy statutes.
27 Laß mich den Weg, den deine Befehle gebieten, verstehen, so will ich über deine Wunder nachsinnen.
The way of thy precepts, cause thou me to understand, and I will indeed meditate in thy wonders.
28 Meine Seele thränt vor Kummer; richte mich auf gemäß deinem Worte.
My soul weepeth itself away, for grief, Confirm thou me, according to thy word.
29 Den Weg der Lüge halte fern von mir und begnadige mich mit deinem Gesetze.
The way of falsehood, take thou from me, and, with thy law, O favour me.
30 Den Weg der Treue habe ich erwählt, deine Ordnungen vor mich hingestellt.
The way of faithfulness, have I chosen, Thy regulations, have I deemed right.
31 Ich hänge an deinen Zeugnissen; Jahwe, laß mich nicht zu Schanden werden!
I have kept close to thy testimonies, O Yahweh! do not put me to shame.
32 Den Weg deiner Gebote will ich laufen, denn du machst mir das Herz weit.
The way of thy commandments, will I run, for thou wilt enlarge my heart.
33 Lehre mich, Jahwe, den Weg deiner Satzungen, damit ich ihn bis zuletzt beachte.
[HE.] Point out to me, O Yahweh, the way of thy statutes, that I may observe it unto the end.
34 Laß mich einsichtig werden, damit ich dein Gesetz beachte und von ganzem Herzen halte.
Give me understanding, that I may observe thy law, that I may keep it with a whole heart.
35 Laß mich auf dem Pfade deiner Gebote einhergehen, denn an ihm habe ich Gefallen.
Guide me in the path of thy commandments, for, therein, do I find pleasure.
36 Neige mein Herz deinen Zeugnissen zu und nicht dem ungerechten Gewinn.
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not unto unjust gain.
37 Ziehe meine Augen davon ab, daß sie nach Eitlem schauen; belebe mich auf deinen Wegen.
Turn away mine eyes, from beholding vanity, In thy way, give me life.
38 Erfülle deinem Knechte deine Verheißung, die der Furcht vor dir gegeben ist.
Establish, unto thy servant, thy word, which pertaineth to the reverence of thee.
39 Laß die Schmach, die ich fürchte, an mir vorübergehen; denn deine Ordnungen sind gut.
Cause to pass away my reproach, that I have feared, for, thy regulations, are good.
40 Fürwahr, mich verlangt nach deinen Befehlen; belebe mich durch deine Gerechtigkeit.
Lo! I have longed for thy precepts, In thy righteousness, give me life.
41 Mögen deine Gnadenerweisungen, Jahwe, über mich kommen, dein Heil gemäß deiner Verheißung,
[WAW.] And let thy lovingkindness reach me, O Yahweh, thy salvation, according to thy word.
42 daß ich dem, der mich lästert, etwas antworten kann; denn ich vertraue auf dein Wort.
So shall I have something to answer him that reproacheth me, That I have trusted in thy word.
43 Und entziehe meinem Munde nicht völlig das Wort der Wahrheit, denn auf deine Gerichte harre ich.
And do not snatch away from my mouth the word of truth in any wise, because, for thy regulation, have I waited.
44 Und ich will dein Gesetz beständig beobachten, immer und ewig,
That I may keep thy law continually, to times age-abiding and beyond.
45 so werde ich in weitem Raume wandeln, denn ich habe deine Befehle gesucht.
That I may walk to and fro in a large place, because, thy precepts, have I sought.
46 Und ich will von deinen Zeugnissen vor Königen reden und mich nicht schämen.
That I may speak of thy testimonies before kings, and not be ashamed.
47 Ich ergötze mich an deinen Geboten, die ich lieb gewonnen habe.
That I may find dear delight in thy commandments, which I have loved.
48 Und ich erhebe meine Hände zu deinen Geboten, die ich lieb gewonnen, und will nachsinnen über deine Satzungen.
That I may lift up my hands unto thy commandments, which I have loved, and may meditate in thy statutes.
49 Gedenke des Worts an deinen Knecht, dieweil du mich harren ließest.
[ZAYIN.] Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
50 Das ist mein Trost in meinem Elend, daß mich dein Wort neu belebte.
This, is my comfort in mine affliction, that, thy word, hath given me life.
51 Übermütige haben mich gar sehr verspottet; von deinem Gesetze bin ich nicht abgewichen.
Insolent men, have derided me exceedingly, From thy law, have I not swerved.
52 Ich gedachte deiner Gerichte von Uralters her, Jahwe, da tröstete ich mich.
I have remembered thy regulations, [which have come down] from age-past times, O Yahweh, and have consoled myself.
53 Zornglut hat mich erfaßt wegen der Gottlosen, die dein Gesetz verlassen.
A raging heat, hath seized me, by reason of the lawless, who forsake thy law.
54 Anlaß zu Lobpreis wurden mir deine Satzungen da, wo ich als Fremdling weile.
Songs, have thy statutes become to me, in my house of sojourn.
55 Ich gedachte des Nachts an deinen Namen, Jahwe, und beobachtete dein Gesetz.
I have remembered, in the night, thy Name, O Yahweh, and have kept thy law.
56 Solches ward mir zu teil, denn ich habe deine Befehle beachtet.
This, have I had, because, thy precepts, have I observed.
57 Ich sprach: Mein Teil ist, Jahwe, deine Worte zu beobachten.
[HETH.] My portion, is Yahweh, I have promised that I would keep thy words.
58 Von ganzem Herzen habe ich deine Gunst gesucht; sei mir gnädig gemäß deiner Verheißung.
I have sought the smile of thy face with all my heart, Show me favour, according to thy word.
59 Ich überdachte meine Wege und lenkte meine Füße deinen Zeugnissen zu.
I have thought upon my ways, and have turned my feet unto thy testimonies.
60 Ich eilte und zauderte nicht, deine Gebote zu beobachten.
I have hastened, and not delayed, to keep thy commandments.
61 Die Stricke der Gottlosen umgaben mich; dein Gesetz habe ich nicht vergessen.
The meshes of the lawless, have surrounded me, Thy law, have I not forgotten.
62 Mitten in der Nacht erhebe ich mich, dir wegen deiner gerechten Ordnungen zu danken.
At midnight, I arise to give thanks unto thee, For thy righteous regulations.
63 Ich bin ein Genosse aller derer, die dich fürchten und deine Befehle beobachten.
Companion, am I, to all who revere thee, and to them who keep thy precepts.
64 Von deiner Gnade, Jahwe, ist die Erde voll; lehre mich deine Satzungen.
Of thy lovingkindness, O Yahweh, the earth, is full, Thy statutes, teach thou me.
65 Du hast deinem Knechte Gutes erwiesen, Jahwe, gemäß deinem Worte.
[TETH.] Well, hast thou dealt with thy servant, O Yahweh, according to thy word.
66 Rechte Einsicht und Erkenntnis lehre mich, denn ich vertraue auf deine Gebote.
Good judgment and knowledge, teach thou me, For, in thy commandments, have I trusted.
67 Bevor ich gedemütigt ward, ging ich irre, nun aber beobachte ich dein Wort.
Before I was afflicted, I myself was going astray, but, now, thy word, have I kept.
68 Gütig bist du und thust wohl; lehre mich deine Satzungen.
Good, thou art, and doing good, Teach me thy statutes.
69 Die Übermütigen haben mir Lüge angedichtet; ich aber beachte von ganzem Herzen deine Befehle.
Insolent men have plastered falsehood over me, I, with a whole heart, will observe thy precepts.
70 Stumpf wie Fett ist ihr Sinn; ich aber ergötze mich an deinem Gesetze.
Gross, like fat, is their heart, I, in thy law, have found dear delight.
71 Es war heilsam für mich, daß ich gedemütigt ward, damit ich deine Satzungen lernte.
It is, well for me, that I was afflicted, That I might learn thy statutes.
72 Das Gesetz deines Mundes ist köstlicher für mich, als Tausende Goldes und Silbers.
Better to me, is the law of thy mouth, than thousands of gold and silver.
73 Deine Hände haben mich geschaffen und bereiteten mich; laß mich einsichtig werden, damit ich deine Gebote lerne.
[YODH.] Thine own hands, have made me, and formed me. Give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.
74 Die dich fürchten, werden mich sehen und sich freuen, denn ich harre auf dein Wort.
They who revere thee, shall see me and rejoice, that, for thy word, I waited.
75 Ich weiß, Jahwe, daß deine Gerichte gerecht sind, und daß du in Treue mich gedemütigt hast.
I know, O Yahweh, that righteous are thy regulations, and, in faithfulness, didst thou afflict me.
76 Möchte doch deine Gnade dienen, mich zu trösten, nach deiner Verheißung an deinen Knecht.
Let thy lovingkindness, I beseech thee, serve to comfort me, according to thy word to thy servant.
77 Möchte dein Erbarmen über mich kommen, daß ich lebe, denn dein Gesetz ist mein Ergötzen.
Let thy compassions reach me, that I may live, for, thy law, is my dear delight.
78 Laß die Übermütigen zu Schanden werden, weil sie mich ohne Grund gebeugt haben; ich sinne nach über deine Befehle.
Let insolent men, be ashamed, because, by means of falsehood, they have dealt with me perversely, I, will meditate in thy precepts.
79 Mir mögen sich zuwenden, die dich fürchten und die deine Zeugnisse kennen.
Let them who revere thee, turn unto me, even they who know thy testimonies.
80 Möge mein Herz in deinen Satzungen unsträflich sein, damit ich nicht zu Schanden werde.
Let my heart be thorough in thy statutes, that I may not be ashamed.
81 Meine Seele schmachtet nach deinem Heil; ich harre auf dein Wort.
[KAPH.] My soul, hath languished for thy salvation, For thy word, have I hoped.
82 Meine Augen schmachten nach deinem Wort und fragen: “Wann wirst du mich trösten?”
Mine eyes have failed for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?
83 Denn ich gleiche einem Schlauch im Rauche; deine Satzungen habe ich nicht vergessen.
Though I have been like a wine-skin in the smoke, thy statutes, have I not forgotten.
84 Wie viel sind der Lebenstage deines Knechts? Wann wirst du an meinen Verfolgern das Gericht vollstrecken?
How few are the days of thy servant! When wilt thou execute sentence on my persecutors?
85 Die Übermütigen haben mir Gruben gegraben, sie, die deinem Gesetze nicht entsprechen.
Insolent men digged for me pits, men who are not according to thy law.
86 Alle deine Gebote sind Wahrheit. Ohne Grund verfolgen sie mich: hilf mir!
All thy commandments, are faithful, With falsehood, have they persecuted me, O help me!
87 Gar leicht hätten sie mich auf Erden aufgerieben, obgleich ich von deinen Befehlen nicht gelassen habe.
A little more, and they had consumed me in the earth, but, I, forsake not thy precepts.
88 Gemäß deiner Gnade erhalte mich am Leben, damit ich das Zeugnis deines Mundes beobachte.
According to thy lovingkindness, give thou me life, so will I keep the testimonies of thy mouth.
89 Auf ewig, Jahwe, steht dein Wort im Himmel fest.
[LAMED.] Age-abidingly, O Yahweh, hath thy word been set up in the heavens.
90 Durch alle Geschlechter währt deine Treue; du hast die Erde hingestellt und sie blieb stehen.
To generation after generation, is thy faithfulness, Thou hast established the earth, and it standeth.
91 Nach deinen Ordnungen stehen sie noch heut, denn das alles sind deine Diener.
By thy regulations, do they stand to-day, for, all, are thy servants.
92 Wenn nicht dein Gesetz mein Ergötzen gewesen wäre, so wäre ich vergangen in meinem Elend.
Had not thy law been my dear delight, then, had I perished in mine affliction.
93 Nimmermehr will ich deine Befehle vergessen, denn durch sie hast du mich am Leben erhalten.
Unto times age-abiding, will I not forget thy precepts, For, by them, hast thou given me life.
94 Dein bin ich, hilf mir! denn ich suche deine Befehle.
Thine, am I, —oh save me! For, thy precepts, have I sought.
95 Die Gottlosen haben auf mich gelauert, mich umzubringen. Ich merke auf deine Zeugnisse.
For me, have the lawless waited, to destroy me, Thy testimonies, will I diligently consider.
96 Von allem sonstigen Umfang habe ich ein Ende gesehen: überaus weitreichend ist dein Gebot.
To all perfection, have I seen an end, Broad is thy commandment, exceedingly.
97 Wie liebe ich dein Gesetz! Allezeit ist es mein Sinnen.
[MEM.] Oh how I love thy law! All the day, is it my (meditation)
98 Dein Gebot macht mich weiser, als es meine Feinde sind, denn es ist für immer mein.
Beyond mine enemies, will thy commandment make me wise, for, age-abidingly, shall it be mine.
99 Ich bin klüger als alle, die mich gelehrt haben, denn deine Zeugnisse sind mein Sinnen.
Beyond all my teachers, have I shown discretion, for, thy testimonies, are my (meditation)
100 Ich bin einsichtiger als Greise, denn ich beachte deine Befehle.
Beyond the elders, will I show understanding, for, thy precepts, have I observed.
101 Von jedem schlimmen Pfade hielt ich meine Füße zurück, um dein Wort zu beobachten.
From every way of wickedness, have I withheld my feet, that I might keep thy word.
102 Von deinen Ordnungen wich ich nicht, denn du unterwiesest mich.
From thy regulations, have I not turned aside, for, thou, hast directed me.
103 Wie süß sind meinem Gaumen deine Verheißungen, süßer als Honig meinem Munde.
How smooth to my palate is thy speech, More than honey, to my mouth.
104 Durch deine Befehle werde ich einsichtig, darum hasse ich jeden Lügenpfad.
Out of thy precepts, will I get understanding, For this cause, do I hate every false way.
105 Dein Wort ist meines Fußes Leuchte und ein Licht für meinen Pfad.
[NUN.] A lamp to my feet, is thy word, and a light to my path.
106 Ich habe geschworen und hielt es, deine gerechten Ordnungen zu beobachten.
I sware, and have fulfilled, To keep thy righteous regulations.
107 Ich bin schwer gebeugt; Jahwe, belebe mich nach deinem Worte.
I have been afflicted exceedingly, —O Yahweh, give me life according to thy word.
108 Laß dir, Jahwe, die freiwilligen Opfer meines Mundes gefallen und lehre mich deine Ordnungen.
The freewill offerings of my mouth, accept, I pray thee, O Yahweh, And, thy regulations, teach thou me.
109 Ich trage mein Leben beständig in meiner Hand und habe dein Gesetz nicht vergessen.
My life, is in my hand continually, Yet, thy law, have I not forgotten.
110 Die Gottlosen haben mir eine Schlinge gelegt, und von deinen Befehlen bin ich nicht abgeirrt.
The lawless have set a snare for me, Yet, from thy precepts, have I not strayed.
111 Ich habe deine Zeugnisse für immer zum Besitz erhalten, denn sie sind die Wonne meines Herzens.
As an inheritance have I taken thy testimonies unto times age-abiding, for, the joy of my heart, they are.
112 Ich neige mein Herz dazu, nach deinen Satzungen zu thun, für immer, bis zuletzt.
I have inclined my heart to perform thy statutes, Age-abidingly, to the end.
113 Zwiespältige hasse ich und dein Gesetz habe ich lieb.
[SAMECH.] Half-hearted ones, do I hate, but, thy law, do I love.
114 Du bist mein Schirm und mein Schild, auf dein Wort harre ich.
My hiding-place and my buckler, thou art, For thy word, have I waited.
115 Weicht von mir, ihr Bösewichter, daß ich die Gebote meines Gottes beachte.
Depart from me, ye evil-doers, —that I may observe the commandments of my God.
116 Stütze mich deiner Verheißung gemäß, daß ich lebe, und laß mich mit meiner Hoffnung nicht zu Schanden werden.
Uphold me according to thy word, that I may live, and do not shame me out of my hope!
117 Stärke mich, daß mir geholfen werde, so will ich mich an deinen Satzungen beständig ergötzen.
Sustain me, that I may be saved, and may find dear delight in thy statutes continually.
118 Du verwirfst alle, die sich von deinen Satzungen verirren, denn fruchtlos ist ihr Trügen.
Thou hast made light of all who stray from thy statutes, for their fraud is, falsehood.
119 Für Schlacken erachtest du alle Gottlosen auf Erden; darum liebe ich deine Zeugnisse.
Dross, have I accounted all the lawless of the earth, therefore do I love thy testimonies.
120 Mein Leib schaudert aus Furcht vor dir, und ich bange vor deinen Gerichten.
My flesh, bristled up from dread of thee, and, of thy regulations, stand I in fear.
121 Ich habe Recht und Gerechtigkeit geübt; überlasse mich nicht meinen Unterdrückern.
[AYIN.] I have done justice and righteousness, —Do not leave me to mine oppressors.
122 Tritt für deinen Knecht zu seinem Heile ein; laß die Übermütigen mich nicht unterdrücken.
Be thou surety for thy servant for good, Let not insolent men oppress me.
123 Meine Augen schmachten nach deiner Hilfe und nach deinem gerechten Spruche.
Mine eyes, have become dim for thy salvation, and for thy righteous word.
124 Verfahre mit deinem Knechte deiner Gnade gemäß und lehre mich deine Satzungen.
Deal with thy servant according to thy lovingkindness, and, thy statutes, teach thou me.
125 Dein Knecht bin ich; laß mich einsichtig werden, damit ich deine Zeugnisse erkenne.
Thy servant, I am—give me understanding, so shall I get to know thy testimonies.
126 Zeit ist's zu handeln für Jahwe; sie haben dein Gesetz gebrochen.
It is time that Yahweh should work, They have frustrated thy law!
127 Darum liebe ich deine Gebote mehr als Gold und als Feingold.
For this cause, do I love thy commandments, More than gold, yea than fine gold!
128 Darum halte ich alle deine Befehle für recht; jeden Lügenpfad hasse ich.
For this cause, all thy precepts concerning all things, I deem right, Every way of falsehood, I hate.
129 Wunderbar sind deine Zeugnisse; darum hat sie meine Seele beachtet.
[PE.] Wonderful are thy testimonies, For this cause, hath my soul observed them.
130 Das Thor deiner Worte leuchtet, macht die Einfältigen verständig.
The opening of thy words, sheddeth light, Giving understanding to the simple.
131 Ich sperre meinen Mund auf und lechze, denn mich verlangt nach deinen Geboten.
My mouth, have I opened wide, and panted, because, for thy commandments, have I longed.
132 Wende dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig, nach dem Rechte derer, die deinen Namen lieben.
Turn thyself unto me, and show me favour, —As is befitting, to the lovers of thy Name.
133 Festige meine Tritte in deinem Wort und laß keinerlei Böses über mich herrschen.
My steps, direct thou by thy word, and let no iniquity, have dominion over me.
134 Erlöse mich von Menschenbedrückung, damit ich deine Befehle halte.
Set me free from the oppression of man, so will I keep thy precepts.
135 Laß deinem Knechte dein Antlitz leuchten und lehre mich deine Satzungen.
Thy face, light thou up on thy servant, and teach me thy statutes.
136 Von Wasserbächen strömten meine Augen über, weil sie dein Gesetz nicht beobachtet haben.
Streams of water, have run down mine eyes, because men have not kept thy law.
137 Du bist gerecht, Jahwe, und deine Ordnungen sind recht.
[ZADHE.] Righteous art thou, O Yahweh, —and, equitable, are thy regulations.
138 Du hast in Gerechtigkeit deine Zeugnisse geboten und in Treue überaus.
Thou hast righteously commanded thy testimonies, yea in great faithfulness.
139 Mich hat mein Eifer verzehrt, weil meine Bedränger deine Worte vergaßen.
My zeal, hath put an end to me, for mine adversaries have forgotten thy words.
140 Dein Wort ist überaus geläutert, und dein Knecht hat es lieb.
Refined is thy word, to the uttermost, and, thy servant loveth it.
141 Ich bin klein und verachtet; deine Befehle vergaß ich nicht.
Small, am I, and despised, Thy precepts, have I not forgotten.
142 Deine Gerechtigkeit ist Gerechtigkeit für immer, und dein Gesetz ist Wahrheit.
Thy righteousness, is righteous to times age-abiding, and, thy law, is truth.
143 Not und Drangsal haben mich betroffen; deine Gebote sind mein Ergötzen.
Straitness and distress, have befallen me, Thy commandments, are my dear delights.
144 Gerechtigkeit sind deine Zeugnisse für immer; laß mich einsichtig werden, damit ich lebe.
Righteous are thy testimonies, unto times age-abiding, Give me understanding, that I may live.
145 Ich rufe von ganzem Herzen: Erhöre mich, Jahwe! Deine Satzungen will ich beachten.
[KOPH.] I have cried out with all my heart, answer me, O Yahweh; Thy statutes, will I observe.
146 Ich rufe dich, hilf mir, damit ich deine Satzungen beobachte.
I have cried out unto thee, oh save me, That I may keep thy testimonies.
147 Ich komme der Morgendämmerung zuvor und schreie, indem ich harre auf dein Wort.
I forestalled the twilight, and cried for help, For thy word, I waited.
148 Meine Augen kommen den Nachtwachen zuvor, um über dein Wort nachzusinnen.
Mine eyes forestalled the night-watches, To meditate in thy word.
149 Höre meine Stimme gemäß deiner Gnade; Jahwe, deinen Ordnungen gemäß belebe mich.
My voice, O hear, according to thy lovingkindness, O Yahweh! according to thy wont, give me life.
150 Nahe sind, die mich mit Arglist verfolgen, sich von deinem Gesetze fernhalten;
They have drawn near, who pursue villainy, From thy law, have they gone far away.
151 aber du bist nahe, Jahwe, und alle deine Gebote sind Wahrheit.
Near art thou, O Yahweh, and, all thy commandments, are truth.
152 Von längst her weiß ich aus deinen Zeugnissen, daß du sie für ewig gegründet hast.
Long, have I known, from thy testimonies, That, to times age-abiding, thou didst establish them.
153 Siehe mein Elend und reiße mich heraus, denn dein Gesetz vergaß ich nicht.
[RESH.] Behold mine affliction, and rescue me, For, thy law, have I not forgotten.
154 Führe meine Sache und erlöse mich; deiner Verheißung gemäß belebe mich.
Plead my cause, and redeem me, By thy word, give me life
155 Den Gottlosen bleibt die Hilfe fern, denn sie fragen nichts nach deinen Satzungen.
Far from the lawless, is salvation, For, thy statutes, have they not sought.
156 Deine Barmherzigkeit ist groß, Jahwe; deinen Ordnungen gemäß belebe mich.
Thy compassions, are great, O Yahweh, According to thy regulations, give me life.
157 Zahlreich sind meine Verfolger und Bedränger; von deinen Zeugnissen wich ich nicht ab.
Many, are my persecutors and mine adversaries, From thy testimonies, have I not swerved.
158 Ich gewahrte Abtrünnige und empfand Ekel - solche, die dein Wort nicht beobachteten.
I have seen traitors, and felt loathing, Because, thy word, they kept not.
159 Sieh, daß ich deine Befehle liebe; Jahwe, deiner Gnade gemäß belebe mich.
See thou that, thy precepts, I have loved, O Yahweh, according to thy lovingkindness, give me life.
160 Die Summe deines Worts ist Treue, und auf ewig währt alle deine gerechte Ordnung.
The sum of thy word, is truth, and, age-abiding, is every one of thy righteous regulations.
161 Fürsten verfolgen mich ohne Ursache, und vor deinem Worte bebt mein Herz.
[SHIN.] Rulers, have persecuted me, without cause, But, of thy word, hath my heart stood in awe.
162 Ich bin erfreut über deine Verheißung wie einer, der große Beute fand.
Joyful am I over thy word, Like the finder of spoil in abundance.
163 Lüge hasse und verabscheue ich; dein Gesetz habe ich lieb.
Falsehood, I hate and abhor, Thy law, do I love.
164 Siebenmal des Tages preise ich dich wegen deiner gerechten Ordnungen.
Seven times in the day, have I praised thee, For thy righteous regulations.
165 Großes Heil wird denen, die dein Gesetz lieb haben, und es giebt für sie keinen Anstoß.
Blessing in abundance, have the lovers of thy law, and nothing to make them stumble.
166 Ich hoffe auf deine Hilfe, Jahwe; habe ich doch nach deinen Geboten gethan.
I have looked for thy salvation, O Yahweh, and, thy commandments, have I done.
167 Meine Seele hat deine Zeugnisse beobachtet, und ich gewann sie überaus lieb.
My soul hath kept thy testimonies, yea I have loved them greatly.
168 Ich habe deine Befehle und deine Zeugnisse beobachtet, denn alle meine Wege sind dir gegenwärtig.
I have kept thy precepts, and thy testimonies, For, all my ways, are before thee.
169 Mein Jammern komme nahe vor dein Angesicht, Jahwe; deinem Worte gemäß laß mich einsichtig werden.
[TAU] Let my shouting come near before thee, O Yahweh, According to thy word, give me understanding.
170 Mein Flehen komme vor dein Angesicht; deiner Verheißung gemäß errette mich.
Let my supplication come in before thee, According to thy word, deliver me.
171 Meine Lippen sollen Lobpreis ausströmen, denn du lehrst mich deine Satzungen.
My lips, shall pour out, praise, When thou shalt teach me thy statutes.
172 Meine Zunge soll von deinem Worte singen, denn alle deine Gebote sind Gerechtigkeit.
My tongue, shall respond, with thy word, For, all thy commandments, are righteous.
173 Möge deine Hand bereit sein, mir zu helfen, denn deine Befehle habe ich erwählt.
Be thy hand ready to help me, For, thy statutes, have I chosen.
174 Mich verlangt nach deiner Hilfe, Jahwe, und dein Gesetz ist mein Ergötzen.
I have longed for thy salvation, O Yahweh, and, thy law, is my dear delight.
175 Möge meine Seele leben, daß sie dich preise, und deine Gerichte mögen mir helfen.
Let my soul live, that it may praise thee, So shall thy regulation help me.
176 Ich gehe in der Irre: wie ein verlorenes Schaf suche deinen Knecht; denn deine Gebote vergaß ich nicht.
I have strayed like a wandering sheep, O seek thy servant, For, thy commandments, have I not forgotten.
