Psalm 103
1 Von David. Preise, meine Seele, Jahwe, und alles, was in mir ist, seinen heiligen Namen!
A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, [bless] his holy name.
2 Preise, meine Seele, Jahwe, und vergiß nicht, was er dir alles gethan hat!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Der dir alle deine Schuld vergab, alle deine Gebrechen heilte,
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 der dein Leben aus der Grube erlöste, mit Gnade und Barmherzigkeit dich krönte,
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies:
5 der dein Verlangen mit Gutem sättigte; dem Adler gleich erneuert sich deine Jugend!
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; [so that] thy youth is renewed like the eagle.
6 Gerechtigkeit schafft Jahwe und Recht für alle Unterdrückten.
The LORD executeth righteous acts, and judgments for all that are oppressed.
7 Er ließ seine Wege Mose kund werden, den Söhnen Israels seine großen Thaten.
He made known his ways unto Moses, his doings unto the children of Israel.
8 Barmherzig und gnädig ist Jahwe, langsam zum Zorn und reich an Huld.
The LORD is full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9 Nicht für immer hadert er, noch trägt er ewig nach.
He will not always chide; neither will he keep [his anger] for ever.
10 Er verfuhr mit uns nicht nach unseren Sünden und vergalt uns nicht nach unseren Verschuldungen,
He hath not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us after our iniquities.
11 sondern so hoch der Himmel über der Erde ist, ist seine Gnade mächtig über denen, die ihn fürchten.
For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 So fern der Sonnenaufgang vom Untergang, hat er unsere Vergehungen von uns entfernt.
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Wie sich ein Vater über Kinder erbarmt, hat sich Jahwe erbarmt über die, die ihn fürchten.
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
14 Denn er weiß, woraus wir geformt sind, ist eingedenk, daß wir Staub sind.
For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
15 Des Menschen Lebenstage sind wie das Gras; wie eine Blume auf dem Felde, also blüht er.
As for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 Wenn ein Windhauch über ihn dahingefahren, ist er dahin, und seine Stätte kennt ihn nicht mehr.
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17 Die Gnade Jahwes aber währt von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit über denen, die ihn fürchten, und seine Gerechtigkeit auf Kindeskinder
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
18 derer, die seinen Bund halten und seiner Gebote eingedenk sind, daß sie danach thun.
To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his precepts to do them.
19 Jahwe hat seinen Thron im Himmel aufgerichtet, und sein Königtum herrscht über das All.
The LORD hath established his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
20 Preist Jahwe, ihr, seine Engel, ihr starken Helden, die ihr seinen Befehl ausrichtet, indem sie auf den Schall seines Wortes hören.
Bless the LORD, ye angels of his: ye mighty in strength, that fulfill his word, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
21 Preist Jahwe, ihr, all sein Heer, seine Diener, die ihr seinen Willen vollzieht.
Bless the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
22 Preist Jahwe, alle seine Werke an allen Orten seiner Herrschaft. Preise, meine Seele, Jahwe!
Bless the LORD, all ye his works, in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.
