Psalm 102
1 Gebet eines Elenden, wenn er schmachtet und vor Jahwe seine Klage ausschüttet. Jahwe, höre mein Gebet und laß mein Schreien vor dich kommen!
“A prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out before the Lord his complaint.” O Lord, hear my prayer, and let my cry come unto thee.
2 Verbirg dein Antlitz nicht vor mir, wenn mir angst ist! Neige dein Ohr zu mir; wenn ich rufe, eilends erhöre mich!
Hide not thy face from me on the day when I am distressed; incline unto me thy ear; on the day when I call, answer me speedily.
3 Denn meine Tage sind wie ein Rauch verschwunden, und meine Gebeine sind wie von Brand durchglüht.
For my days vanish in smoke, and my bones are burning like a hearth.
4 Mein Herz ward versengt und verdorrte wie Gras; denn ich vergesse, mein Brot zu essen.
Struck [by heat] like the herb and dried up is my heart; for I forget to eat my bread.
5 Von meinem lauten Stöhnen klebt mein Gebein an meinem Fleisch.
Because of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my flesh.
6 Ich gleiche dem Pelikan in der Wüste, bin wie ein Käuzlein in Ruinen.
I am like the pelican of the wilderness: I am become like the owl amid ruins.
7 Ich bin schlaflos und klage wie ein einsamer Vogel auf dem Dach.
I watch, and I am become like a [night-]bird sitting alone upon the housetop.
8 Unaufhörlich lästern mich meine Feinde; die wider mich toben, schwören bei mir.
All the day my enemies reproach me: they that mock me swear by me.
9 Denn ich esse Asche wie Brot und mische meinen Trank mit Thränen
For ashes do I eat like bread, and my drink I mingle with weeping;
10 wegen deines Grimms und deines Zorns; denn du hast mich emporgehoben und hingeschleudert.
Because of thy indignation and thy wrath; for thou hadst lifted me up, and hast cast me down.
11 Meine Tage gleichen einem langgestreckten Schatten, und ich verdorre wie Gras.
My days are like a shadow that declineth; and like the herb I wither.
12 Du aber, Jahwe, thronst ewig, und dein Name währt durch alle Geschlechter.
But thou, O Lord, wilt sit enthroned for ever; and thy memorial is unto all generations.
13 Du wirst dich erheben, dich Zions zu erbarmen; denn es ist Zeit, sie zu begnadigen, denn die ihr bestimmte Frist ist eingetreten.
Thou wilt indeed arise; thou wilt have mercy upon Zion; for it is time to favor her, for the appointed time is coming.
14 Denn deine Knechte hängen mit Liebe an ihren Steinen und jammern über ihren Schutt.
For thy servants hold dear her stones, and her very dust they cherish.
15 Und die Heiden werden den Namen Jahwes fürchten, und alle Könige der Erde deine Herrlichkeit,
Then shall nations fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory:
16 weil Jahwe Zion wieder aufgebaut hat, erschienen ist in seiner Herrlichkeit,
When the Lord shalt have built up Zion, he appeareth in his glory;
17 sich dem Gebete des Nackten zugewendet und ihr Gebet nicht verschmäht hat.
[When] he hath regarded the prayer of the forsaken, and doth not despise their prayer.
18 Aufgeschrieben werde solches vom kommenden Geschlecht, und das Volk, das geschaffen werden soll, preise Jahwe,
This shall be written down for the latest generation; and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.
19 daß er von seiner heiligen Höhe herabgeschaut, Jahwe vom Himmel auf die Erde geblickt hat,
For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; the Lord hath cast from heaven his view to the earth:
20 um das Seufzen des Gefangenen zu hören, die dem Tode Verfallenen loszumachen,
To hear the sighing of the prisoner; to loosen those that are doomed to death:
21 daß man in Zion den Namen Jahwes verkünde und seinen Ruhm in Jerusalem,
That men may proclaim in Zion the name of the Lord, and his praise in Jerusalem;
22 wenn sich die Völker allzumal versammeln und die Königreiche, um Jahwe zu dienen.
When people are gathered together, and kingdoms, to serve the Lord.—
23 Er hat auf dem Wege meine Kraft gebeugt, meine Lebenstage verkürzt.
He hath weakened on the way my strength; he hath shortened my days.
24 Ich spreche: Mein Gott, nimm mich nicht hinweg in der Hälfte meiner Tage, du, dessen Jahre durch alle Geschlechter währen.
I will say, O my God! take me not away in the midst of my days: throughout all generations are thy years.
25 Du hast vor Zeiten die Erde gegründet, und der Himmel ist deiner Hände Werk.
In olden times didst thou lay the foundations of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
26 Sie werden vergehen, du aber bleibst: Sie werden insgesamt wie ein Gewand zerfallen; wie ein Kleid wirst du sie wechseln, und sie werden dahinfahren.
These will indeed perish, but thou wilt ever exist: yea, all of them will wear out like a garment; as a vesture wilt thou change them, and they will be changed;
27 Du aber bist derselbe, und deine Jahre nehmen kein Ende.
But thou art ever the same, and thy years will have no end.
28 Die Kinder deiner Knechte werden sicher wohnen, und ihre Nachkommen beständig vor dir bleiben.
The children of thy servants will dwell [securely], and their seed will be firmly established before thee.
