4 Mose 30

1 Und Mose redete zu den Stammhäuptern der Israeliten also: Dies ist's, was Jahwe befohlen hat.

And Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the children of Israel, saying, This [is] the thing which the Lord has commanded.

2 Wenn jemand Jahwe ein Gelübde thut oder einen Eid schwört, durch den er sich selbst zu einer Enthaltung verpflichtet, so soll er sein Wort nicht brechen, genau so, wie er es ausgesprochen hat, soll er handeln.

Whatsoever man shall vow a vow to the Lord, or swear an oath, or bind himself with an obligation upon his soul, he shall not break his word; all that shall come out of his mouth he shall do.

3 Und wenn eine Frauensperson Jahwe ein Gelübde thut und sich zu einer Enthaltung verpflichtet, so lange sie noch in ledigem Stand im Hause ihres Vaters ist,

And if a woman shall vow a vow to the Lord, or bind herself with an obligation in her youth in her father's house; and her father should hear her vows and her obligations, wherewith she has bound her soul, and her father should hold his peace at her, then all her vows shall stand,

4 und ihr Vater erfährt von ihrem Gelübde und der Enthaltung, zu der sie sich selbst verpflichtet hat, und schweigt dazu, so haben alle ihre Gelübde Giltigkeit, und jederlei Enthaltung, zu der sie sich selbst verpflichtet hat, hat Giltigkeit.

and all the obligations with which she has bound her soul, shall remain to her.

5 Wenn aber ihr Vater am gleichen Tag, an welchem er davon erfährt, ihr wehrt, so haben alle ihre Gelübde und die Enthaltungen, zu denen sie sich selbst verpflichtet hat, keine Giltigkeit, und Jahwe wird ihr vergeben, da ihr Vater ihr gewehrt hat.

But if her father straitly forbid [her] in the day in which he shall hear all her vows and her obligations, which she has contracted upon her soul, they shall not stand; and the Lord shall hold her guiltless, because her father forbade her.

6 Falls sie sich aber verheiraten sollte, während noch Gelübde auf ihr lasten oder ein unbedacht ausgesprochenes Wort, durch das sie sich selbst verpflichtet hat,

But if she should be indeed married, and her vows be upon her according to the utterance of her lips, [the obligations] which she has contracted upon her soul;

7 und ihr Mann erfährt davon, schweigt aber dazu an dem Tag, an welchem er es erfahren hat, so haben ihre Gelübde Giltigkeit, und ihre Enthaltungen, zu denen sie sich selbst verpflichtet hat, haben Giltigkeit.

and her husband should hear, and hold his peace at her in the day in which he should hear, then thus shall all her vows be binding, and her obligations, which she has contracted upon her soul shall stand.

8 Wenn aber ihr Mann am gleichen Tag, an welchem er davon erfährt, ihr wehrt, so macht er das Gelübde, das auf ihr lastet, und das unbedacht ausgesprochene Wort, durch das sie sich selbst verpflichtet hat, ungiltig, und Jahwe wird ihr vergeben.

But if her husband should straitly forbid [her] in the day in which he should hear her, none of her vows or obligations which she has contracted upon her soul shall stand, because her husband has disallowed her, and the Lord shall hold her guiltless.

9 Das Gelübde einer Witwe aber und einer von ihrem Manne Verstoßenen - alles, wodurch sie sich selbst verpflichtet hat, - hat Giltigkeit für sie.

And the vow of a widow and of her that is put away, whatever she shall bind upon her soul, shall stand to her.

10 Wenn sie aber im Hause ihres Mannes ein Gelübde thut oder sich selbst durch einen Eid zu einer Enthaltung verpflichtet,

And if her vow [be made] in the house of her husband, or the obligation upon her soul with an oath,

11 und ihr Mann davon erfährt, aber dazu schweigt und ihr nicht wehrt, so haben alle ihre Gelübde Giltigkeit, und jede Enthaltung, zu der sie sich selbst verpflichtet hat, hat Giltigkeit.

and her husband should hear, and hold his peace at her, and not disallow her, then all her vows shall stand, and all the obligations which she contracted against her soul, shall stand against her.

12 Wenn aber ihr Mann am gleichen Tag, an welchem er von ihnen erfährt, sie ungiltig macht, so hat nichts von dem Giltigkeit, was sie ausgesprochen hat, seien es nun Gelübde oder die Verpflichtung zu einer Enthaltung; ihr Mann hat sie ungiltig gemacht, darum wird Jahwe ihr vergeben.

But if her husband should utterly cancel the vow in the day in which he shall hear it, none of the things which shall proceed out of her lips in her vows, and in the obligations [contracted] upon her soul, shall stand to her; her husband has cancelled them, and the Lord shall hold her guiltless.

13 Jedes Gelübde und jede eidliche Angelobung einer Enthaltung zum Behufe der Selbstkasteiung kann ihr Mann giltig und kann ihr Mann ungiltig machen.

Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict her soul, her husband shall confirm it to her, or her husband shall cancel it.

14 Und zwar, wenn ihr Mann von einem Tage zum andern dazu schweigt, so macht er alle ihre Gelübde oder alle die Enthaltungen, die ihr obliegen, giltig; dadurch, daß er an dem Tag, an welchem er von ihnen erfuhr, dazu schwieg, hat er sie giltig gemacht.

But if he be wholly silent at her from day to day, then shall he bind upon her all her vows; and he shall confirm to her the obligations [which she has bound] upon herself, because he held his peace at her in the day in which he heard her.

15 Sollte er sie aber ungiltig machen, nachdem er schon einige Zeit darum gewußt hat, so lädt er die Verschuldung, die daraus für sie erwächst, auf sich.

And if her husband should in any wise cancel [them] after the day in which he heard [them], then he shall bear his iniquity.

16 Das sind die Satzungen, welche Jahwe Mose anbefohlen hat, damit sie gelten zwischen einem Mann und seinem Weibe, sowie zwischen einem Vater und seiner Tochter, so lange Sie noch in ledigem Stand im Hause ihres Vaters ist.

These [are] the ordinances which the Lord commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, and between a father and daughter in [her] youth in the house of [her] father.
