Nehemia 7
1 Als nun die Mauer gebaut war, setzte ich die Thüren ein, und es wurden die Thorhüter mit der Aufsicht betraut.
And it came to pass, when the wall was built, that I set up the doors; and then were appointed the gatekeepers and the singers and the [other] Levites [to their office].
2 Und ich beorderte zu Befehlshabern über Jerusalem meinen Bruder Hanani und Hananja, den Obersten der Burg; denn er war ein so zuverlässiger und gottesfürchtiger Mann, wie wenige.
And I gave my brother Chanani, and Chananyah the commander of the fortress, charge over Jerusalem; for he was esteemed a faithful man, and one that feared God these many days.
3 Und ich wies sie an: Die Thore Jerusalems dürfen nicht eher geöffnet werden, als bis die Sonne heiß scheint. Und während die Wachtposten noch dastehen, soll man die Thürflügel schließen und verriegeln. Und dann soll man Wachen aus den Einwohnern Jerusalems aufstellen, einen jeden auf seinem Posten und zwar einen jeden gegenüber seinem Hause.
And I said unto them, The gates of Jerusalem must not be opened until the sun be hot; and while ye stand by, let them shut the doors, and do ye bar them; and station watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one opposite to his house.
4 Es war aber die Stadt von großer Ausdehnung, jedoch nur wenig Volks in ihr, und manche Häuser waren nicht wieder aufgebaut.
But the city was roomy in space and large: while the people therein were few, and the houses were not yet built.
5 Da gab mir mein Gott in den Sinn, die Edlen und die Vorsteher und das Volk zur Anfertigung eines Geschlechtsverzeichnisses zu versammeln. Da fand ich das Geschlechtsbuch derer, die zuerst heraufgezogen waren, und fand darin geschrieben:
Then did my God put it into my heart, and I assembled together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might give in their genealogy; and I found a register of the genealogy of those who were come up at the first, and I found written therein:
6 Dies sind die Angehörigen der Provinz Juda, die aus der Gefangenschaft der Weggeführten, die Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, weggeführt hatte, heraufzogen und nach Jerusalem und Juda, ein jeder in seine Stadt, heimkehrten,
These arc the children of the province, that came up out of the captivity of the exiles, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried into exile, and who returned to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his own city;
7 die mit Serubabel, Jesua, Nehemia, Asarja, Raamja, Nahemani, Mardochai, Bilsan, Mispereth, Bigevai, Nehum und Baana kamen. Die Zahl der Männer des Volkes Israel betrug:
Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua', Nehemiah, 'Azaryah, Ra'amyah, Nachamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Misspereth, Bigvai, Nechum, Ba'anah. The number of the men of the people of Israel was:
8 Die Nachkommen Pareos': 2172.
The children of Par'osh, two thousand one hundred and seventy and two.
9 Die Nachkommen Sephatjas: 372.
The children of Shephatyah, three hundred seventy and two.
10 Die Nachkommen Arahs: 652.
The children of Arach, six hundred fifty and two.
11 Die Nachkommen Pahath-Moabs, nämlich die Nachkommen Jesuas und Joabs: 2818.
The children of Pachath-moab, of the children of Jeshua' and Joab, two thousand and eight hundred and eighteen.
12 Die Nachkommen Elams: 1254.
The children of 'Elam, one thousand two hundred fifty and four.
13 Die Nachkommen Sattus: 845.
The children of Zatthu, eight hundred forty and five.

The children of Solomon's servants: The children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Perida,
58 die Nachkommen Jaalas, die Nachkommen Darkons, die Nachkommen Giddels,
The children of Ya'ala, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,
59 die Nachkommen Sephatjas, die Nachkommen Hattils, die Nachkommen des Pochereth-Hazzebaim, die Nachkommen Amons,
The children of Shephatyah, the children of Chattil, the children of Pochereth-hazzebayim, the children of Amon.
60 sämtliche Tempeldiener und Nachkommen der Sklaven Salomos: 392.
All the temple-servants, and the children of Solomon' servants, were three hundred ninety and two.
61 Und diese sind es, die aus Tel-Melah, Tel-Harsa, Cherub, Addon und Immer heraufzogen, ohne daß sie ihre Familie und ihre Abstammung angeben konnten, ob sie aus Israel stammten:
And these were they who came up from Thel-melach, Thelcharsha, Kerub, Addon, and Immer, but they could not tell their family division and their descent, whether they were of Israel.
62 Die Nachkommen Delajas, die Nachkommen Tobias, die Nachkommen Nekodas: 642.
The children of Delayah, the children of Tobiyah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred forty and two.
63 Und von den Priestern: Die Nachkommen Habajas, die Nachkommen Hakkoz', die Nachkommen Barsillais, der eine von den Töchtern des Gileaditers Barsillai geheiratet hatte und nach ihrem Namen genannt wurde.
And of the priests: The children of Chobayah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai who had taken a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gil'adite, and was called after their name.
64 Diese suchten ihre Geschlechtsverzeichnisse, aber sie waren nicht zu finden; daher wurden sie vom Priestertum ausgeschlossen.
These sought for their family register, but it was not found: wherefore they were excluded, as unfit, from the priesthood.
65 Und der Statthalter verbot ihnen, vom Hochheiligen zu essen, bis wieder ein Priester für die Handhabung der Urim und Tummim erstehen würde.
And the Thirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there should stand up a priest with the Urim and Thummim.
66 Die ganze Gemeinde betrug zusammen 42360,
The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and sixty:
67 ungerechnet ihre Sklaven und Sklavinnen; deren gab es 7337 und dazu kamen 245 Sänger und Sängerinnen.
Besides these were their man-servants and their maid-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and they had two hundred and forty and five singing men and singing women.
68 Rosse hatten sie: 736, Maultiere: 245,
Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;
69 Kamele: 435, Esel: 6720.
[Their] camels, four hundred thirty and five: [their] asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
70 Und ein Teil der Familienhäupter spendete zum Tempeldienst. Der Statthalter spendete für den Schatz: an Gold tausend Drachmen, fünfzig Sprengschalen, 30 Priesterröcke.
And a portion of the chiefs of the divisions gave unto the work. The Thirshatha gave to the treasure, of gold one thousand drachms, fifty bowls, five hundred and thirty coats for the priests.
71 Und einige von den Familienhäuptern spendeten zum Schatze für den Tempeldienst: an Gold 20000 Drachmen und an Silber 2200 Minen.
And some of the chiefs of the divisions gave to the treasury of the work, of gold twenty thousand drachms, and of silver two thousand and two hundred manehs.
72 Und was das übrige Volk spendete, betrug an Gold 20000 Drachmen und an Silber 2000 Minen, und siebenundsechzig Priesterröcke.
And what the rest of the people gave was, of gold twenty thousand drachms, and of silver two thousand manehs, and priests coats sixty and seven.
73 Und so wohnten die Priester und die Leviten und die Thorhüter und die Sänger und ein Teil des Volks und die Tempeldiener und sämtliche Israeliten in ihren Städten.
So the priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and some of the people, and the temple-servants, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities: and so came round the seventh month, while the children of Israel were in their cities.
