Markus 14
1 Es war aber noch zwei Tage bis zum Passa und Ungesäuerten, und die Hohenpriester und die Schriftgelehrten sannen, wie sie ihn mit List fassen und töten könnten.
It was now two days before the festival of the Pesac ·Passover· (Nissan 12), also called the festival of Matzah ·Unleavened bread·, and the chief priests and the Torah-Teachers sought how they might seize him by deception, and kill him.
2 Denn sie sagten: nicht am Feste, auf daß es keine Unruhen gibt im Volk.
For they said, “Not during the feast, because there might be a riot of the people.”
3 Und da er in Bethania war, im Hause Simons des Aussätzigen, kam eine Frau, wie er zu Tische saß, mit einer Alabasterflasche ächter kostbarer Nardensalbe, schlug die Flasche auf und goß es ihm über das Haupt.
While he was at Bethany [House of affliction], in the house of Simeon [Hearing] the leper, as he sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster jar of ointment of pure nard— very costly. She broke the jar, and poured it over his head.
4 Es waren aber etliche da, die unter sich zankten: wozu das, diese Salbe zu vergeuden?
But there were some who were indignant among themselves, saying, “Why has this ointment been wasted?
5 hätte man doch diese Salbe verkaufen können um mehr als dreihundert Denare und es den Armen geben; und sie fuhren sie an.
For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii (300 days wages), and given to the poor.” They grumbled against her.
6 Jesus aber sagte: lasset sie; was beschwert ihr sie? Sie hat ein gutes Werk an mir gethan.
But Yeshua [Salvation] said, “Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me.
7 Denn die Armen habt ihr allezeit bei euch und könnet ihnen allezeit Gutes thun, wann ihr wollt; mich aber habt ihr nicht allezeit.
For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want to, you can do them good; but you will not always have me.
8 Sie hat gethan, was sie vermochte; sie hat meinen Leib zum voraus gesalbt zum Begräbnis.
She has done what she could. She has anointed my body beforehand for the burying.
9 Wahrlich aber, ich sage euch, wo in aller Welt das Evangelium verkündigt wird, wird auch von ihrer That geredet werden zu ihrem Gedächtnis.
Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News may be preached throughout the whole world, that which this woman has done will also be spoken of for a memorial of her.”
10 Und Judas Iskarioth, einer von den Zwölfen gieng hin zu den Hohenpriestern, ihn an dieselben auszuliefern.
Judas Iscariot [Praised Dagger-man], who was one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might deliver him to them.
11 Sie aber freuten sich wie sie es hörten, und versprachen ihm Geld zu geben; und er suchte, wie er ihn bei guter Gelegenheit ausliefern möge.
They, when they heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. He sought how he might conveniently deliver him.
12 Und am ersten Tage des Ungesäuerten, da man das Passa schlachtete, sagen seine Jünger zu ihm: wo, willst du, daß wir hingehen und dir das Passamahl zu essen richten?
On the first day of Matzah ·Unleavened bread· (Nissan 14), when they sacrificed the Pesac ·Passover· lamb, his disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and prepare your Seder ·Order / Passover meal·?”
13 Und er sendet zwei von seinen Jüngern aus und sagt zu ihnen: gehet hin in die Stadt, so wird euch ein Mensch begegnen, der einen Wasserkrug trägt; dem folget nach;
He sent two of his disciples, and said to them, “Go into the city, and there you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him,
14 und wo er eintritt, da saget dem Hausherrn: der Meister läßt sagen: wo ist meine Herberge, da ich das Passa mit meinen Jüngern essen möge?
and wherever he enters in, tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Pesac ·Passover· with my disciples?”’
15 So wird er euch ein großes teppichbelegtes bereitgestelltes Oberzimmer zeigen; da richtet ihr es für uns.
He will himself show you a large upper room furnished and ready. Get ready for us there.”
16 Und die Jünger giengen aus und kamen in die Stadt, und fanden es, wie er ihnen gesagt hatte und richteten das Passamahl.
His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found things as he had said to them, and they prepared the Seder · Order / Passover meal·.
17 Und da es Abend geworden, kam er mit den Zwölf.
When it was evening he came with the twelve.
18 Und da sie am Essen saßen, sprach Jesus: wahrlich ich sage euch, einer von euch, der mit mir isset, wird mich verraten.
As they sat and were eating, Yeshua [Salvation] said, “Most certainly I tell you, one of you will betray me— he who eats with me.”
19 Sie fiengen an sich zu betrüben und zu ihm zu sagen, einer nach dem andern: doch nicht ich?
They began to be sorrowful, and to ask him one by one, “Surely not I?” And another said, “Surely not I?”
20 er aber sagte zu ihnen, einer von den Zwölf, der mit mir in die Schüssel taucht.
He answered them, “It is one of the twelve, he who dips matzah ·unleavened bread· with me in the dish (of bitter herbs).
21 Ja, der Sohn des Menschen geht wohl dahin, wie von ihm geschrieben steht; wehe aber jenem Menschen, durch welchen der Sohn des Menschen verraten wird: diesem Menschen wäre es besser, wenn er nicht geboren wäre.
For the Son of Man goes, even as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”
22 Und als sie aßen, nahm er Brot, segnete und brach, und gab es ihnen, und sagte: nehmet, das ist mein Leib.
As they were eating, Yeshua [Salvation] took matzah ·unleavened bread·, and when he had blessed, he broke it, and gave to them, and said, “Take, eat. This is my body.”
23 Und er nahm einen Becher, dankte und gab es ihnen, und sie tranken alle daraus;
He took the (third) cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave to them. They all drank of it.
24 und er sagte zu ihnen: das ist mein Bundesblut, das für viele vergossen wird.
He said to them, “This is my blood of the new covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties·, which is poured out for many.
25 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: nicht mehr werde ich trinken vom Gewächse des Weinstocks, bis auf den Tag, da ich es neu trinken werde im Reiche Gottes.
Most certainly I tell you, I will no more drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it anew in God’s Kingdom.”
26 Und nach dem Lobgesang zogen sie hinaus zum Oelberg,
When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
27 und Jesus sagt zu ihnen: ihr werdet alle Anstoß nehmen, denn es steht geschrieben: Ich werde den Hirten schlagen, und die Schafe werden zerstreut werden.
Yeshua [Salvation] said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’
28 Aber nach meiner Auferweckung werde ich euch nach Galiläa vorausgehen.
However, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee [District, Circuit].”
29 Petrus aber sagte zu ihm: wenn auch alle Anstoß nehmen, so doch ich nicht.
But Peter [Rock] said to him, “Although all will be offended, yet I will not.”
30 Und Jesus sagt zu ihm: wahrlich, ich sage dir: heute in dieser Nacht, ehe der Hahn zweimal kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen.
Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “Most certainly I tell you, that you today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”
31 Er aber redete nur um so eifriger: wenn ich mit dir sterben müßte, werde ich dich nimmermehr verleugnen. Ebenso aber sprachen sie auch alle.
But he spoke all the more, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” They all said the same thing.
32 Und sie kommen in ein Grundstück mit Namen Gethsemane, und er sagt zu seinen Jüngern: setzet euch hier, indeß ich bete.
They came to a place which was named Gethsemane [Olive oil press]. He said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I pray.”
33 Und er nimmt den Petrus und Jakobus und Johannes mit sich, und fieng an zu zittern und zu zagen,
He took with him Peter [Rock], James [Surplanter], and John [Yah is gracious], and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.
34 und sagt zu ihnen: meine Seele ist tief betrübt bis zum Tode; bleibt hier und wachet.
He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here, and watch.”
35 Und er gieng eine kleine Strecke vor, warf sich auf die Erde und betete, daß, wo möglich, diese Stunde an ihm vorüber gehe,
He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.
36 und sprach: Abba, Vater, dir ist alles möglich; nimm diesen Becher von mir; doch nicht wie ich will, sondern wie du.
He said, “Abba, Dear Dad, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire.”
37 Und er kommt und findet sie schlafend und sagt zu Petrus: Simon, du schläfst? Vermochtest du nicht eine Stunde zu wachen?
He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter [Rock], “Simeon [Hearing], are you sleeping? Couldn’t you watch one hour?
38 Wachet und betet, damit ihr nicht in Versuchung fallet. Der Geist ist willig, aber das Fleisch ist schwach.
Watch and pray, that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
39 Und abermals gieng er hin, und betete mit den gleichen Worten.
Again he went away, and prayed, saying the same words.
40 Und wieder kam er und fand sie schlafend; ihre Augen fielen ihnen zu, und sie hatten keine Gedanken zum antworten.
Again he teshuvah ·completely returned·, and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they didn’t know what to answer him.
41 Und er kommt zum drittenmal und sagt zu ihnen: ihr schlafet fort und ruhet? Es ist genug; die Stunde ist gekommen, siehe der Sohn des Menschen wird in die Hände der Sünder ausgeliefert.
He came the third time, and said to them, “Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
42 Auf, lasset uns gehen; siehe, der mich ausliefert, ist angekommen.
Arise, let us be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”
43 Und alsbald, da er noch sprach, erscheint Judas, einer von den Zwölf und mit ihm eine Menge mit Schwertern und Stöcken von den Hohenpriestern und den Schriftgelehrten und den Aeltesten her.
Immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas [Praised], one of the twelve, came— and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the Torah-Teachers, and the elders.
44 Es hatte ihnen aber der Verräter ein Zeichen gegeben also: den ich küsse, der ist es; den greifet und bringt ihn in Sicherheit.
Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I will phileo ·affectionate love, kiss·, he is the one. Seize him, and lead him away safely.”
45 Und da er kam, trat er alsbald zu ihm und sagt: Rabbi, und küßte ihn.
When he had come, immediately he came to him, and said, “Rabbi, Rabbi! ·Teacher, Teacher·!” and kissed him.
46 Sie aber legten Hand an ihn und griffen ihn.
They laid their hands on him, and seized him.
47 Einer aber von denen, die dabei standen, zog das Schwert und schlug nach dem Knecht des Hohenpriesters und hieb ihm das Ohr ab.
But a certain one of those who stood by drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
48 Und Jesus redete sie an: wie gegen einen Räuber seid ihr ausgezogen mit Schwertern und Stöcken, mich gefangen zu nehmen.
Yeshua [Salvation] answered them, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to seize me?
49 Täglich war ich bei euch im Tempel lehrend, und ihr habt mich nicht gegriffen; aber die Schriften sollten erfüllt werden.
I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me. But this is so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled.”
50 Und sie verließen ihn und flohen alle davon;
They all left him, and fled.
51 und ein Jüngling war in seinem Gefolge, der ein feines Leinengewand auf dem bloßen Leib trug, und sie greifen ihn;
A certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth thrown around himself, over his naked body. The young men grabbed him,
52 er aber ließ das Leinengewand fahren und floh nackt.
but he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.
53 Und sie führten Jesus ab zu dem Hohenpriester, und es versammeln sich die sämmtlichen Hohenpriester und Aeltesten und Schriftgelehrten.
They led Yeshua [Salvation] away to the high priest. All the chief priests, the elders, and the Torah-Teachers came together with him.
54 Und Petrus folgte ihm von weitem bis hinein in den Hof des Hohenpriesters, und setzte sich zu den Dienern und wärmte sich am Feuer.
Peter [Rock] had followed him from a distance, until he came into the court of the high priest. He was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light of the fire.
55 Die Hohenpriester aber und das ganze Synedrium suchten Zeugnis gegen Jesus um ihn zu töten, und fanden keines:
Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witnesses against Yeshua [Salvation] to put him to death, and found none.
56 Denn Viele legten falsches Zeugnis gegen ihn ab; und die Zeugnisse waren nicht gleich.
For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony didn’t agree with each other.
57 Und etliche standen auf und legten falsches Zeugnis gegen ihn ab, also:
Some stood up, and gave false testimony against him, saying,
58 wir haben ihn sagen gehört: ich will diesen mit Händen gemachten Tempel abbrechen, und in drei Tagen einen andern aufbauen, der nicht mit Händen gemacht ist.
“We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.’”
59 Und auch so war ihr Zeugnis noch nicht gleich.
Even so, their testimony did not agree.
60 Und der Hohepriester trat vor und befragte Jesus: antwortest du gar nichts, auf das, was diese gegen dich zeugen?
The high priest stood up in the middle, and asked Yeshua [Salvation], “Have you no answer? What is it which these testify against you?”
61 Er aber schwieg, und antwortete nichts. Wiederum befragte ihn der Hohepriester und sagt zu ihm: bist du der Christus, der Sohn des Hochgelobten?
But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah [Anointed one], the Son of the Blessed?”
62 Jesus aber sagte: ich bin es, und ihr werdet den Sohn des Menschen sitzen sehen zur Rechten der Macht und kommen mit den Wolken des Himmels.
Yeshua [Salvation] said, “Ena Na [I AM (the Living God)]. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky.”
63 Der Hohepriester aber zerriß seine Kleider und sagt: was brauchen wir noch Zeugen!
The high priest tore his clothes, and said, “What further need have we of witnesses?
64 Ihr habt die Lästerung gehört; wie scheint es euch? Sie aber verurteilten ihn alle zum Tode.
You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?” They all condemned him to be worthy of death.
65 Und etliche fiengen an ihn anzuspeien und sein Gesicht zuzudecken, und ihn mit Fäusten zu schlagen und zu ihm zu sagen: weissage; und die Diener griffen ihn mit Stockschlägen an.
Some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with fists, and to tell him, “Prophesy!” The officers struck him with the palms of their hands.
66 Und da Petrus unten im Hofe war, kommt eine von den Mägden des Hohenpriesters
As Peter [Rock] was in the courtyard below, one of the maids of the high priest came,
67 und da sie Petrus sich wärmen sah, blickte sie ihn an und sagt: du warst auch mit dem Nazarener, dem Jesus.
and seeing Peter [Rock] warming himself, she looked at him, and said, “You were also with the Nazarene [person from Branch, Separated one], Yeshua [Salvation]!”
68 Er aber leugnete: ich weiß nicht und begreife nicht, was du meinst. Und er gieng hinaus in die Vorhalle, und der Hahn krähte.
But he denied it, saying, “I neither know, nor understand what you are saying.” He went out on the porch, and the rooster crowed.
69 Und die Magd sah ihn, und fieng abermals an zu den Umstehenden zu sagen: das ist einer von ihnen.
The maid saw him, and began again to tell those who stood by, “This is one of them.”
70 Er aber leugnete abermals. Und bald darauf sagten noch einmal die Umstehenden zu Petrus: du bist wahrhaftig einer von ihnen: bist du doch auch ein Galiläer.
But he again denied it. After a little while again those who stood by said to Peter [Rock], “You truly are one of them, for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.”
71 Er aber begann sich zu verfluchen und zu verschwören: ich kenne diesen Menschen nicht, von dem ihr sagt.
But he began to curse, and to swear, “I don’t know this man of whom you speak!”
72 Und alsbald krähte der Hahn zum zweitenmal. Und Petrus gedachte des Wortes, wie Jesus zu ihm gesagt hatte: ehe der Hahn zweimal kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen. Und er bedachte es und weinte.
The rooster crowed the second time. Peter [Rock] remembered the word, how that Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” When he thought about that, he wept.
