3 Mose 3

1 Ist aber seine Opfergabe ein Heilsopfer, und er will sie von den Rindern darbringen, so muß es ein fehlloses männliches oder weibliches Tier sein, welches er vor Jahwe bringt.

[“Also tell the people], ‘When the offering that you bring to Yahweh is to maintain good fellowship [with him], you may bring a bull or a cow from your herd [of cattle], but what you present to Yahweh must be an animal that has no defects.

2 Sodann stemme er die Hand auf den Kopf seines Opfers und schlachte es vor der Thüre des OffenbarungszeItes; die Söhne Aarons aber, die Priester, sollen das Blut ringsum an den Altar sprengen.

You must bring the animal to the entrance to the Sacred Tent. You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it [and drain some of its blood in a bowl]. Then one of Aaron’s sons, one of the priests, will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.

3 Hierauf soll er von dem Heilsopfer Jahwe ein Feueropfer darbringen, nämlich das Fett, das die Eingeweide bedeckt, und alles Fett an den Eingeweiden,

From that offering, you must offer to Yahweh, as a sacrifice that will be burned in the fire, all the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal, or which is attached to them—

4 dazu die beiden Nieren samt dem Fett an ihnen, an den Lendenmuskeln, und das Anhängsel an der Leber; bei den Nieren soll er es wegnehmen.

the kidneys and the fat that is attached to them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

5 Die Söhne Aarons aber sollen es auf dem Altar über dem Brandopfer, das auf den Holzscheiten über dem Feuer liegt, in Rauch aufgehn lassen als ein Jahwe dargebrachtes Feueropfer lieblichen Geruchs.

Then one of the priests will burn those things on the altar, along with the other parts of the animal that will be completely burned to be an offering [to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh.

6 Ist aber die Opfergabe, die er zu einem Heilsopfer für Jahwe bestimmt hat, dem Kleinvieh entnommen, so soll es ein fehlloses männliches oder weibliches Tier sein, welches er darbringt.

If that offering to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh is a sheep or a goat, it must also be an animal that has no defects.

7 Will er ein Lamm als Opfergabe darbringen, so bringe er sie vor Jahwe,

If you offer a lamb, you must present it to Yahweh [at the entrance to the Sacred Tent]. You must lay your hands on the lamb’s head and then slaughter it. [‘You must drain some of its blood in a bowl].

8 stemme seine Hand auf den Kopf seine Opfers und schlachte es sodann vor dem Offenbarungszelte; die Söhne Aarons aber sollen das Blut ringsum an den Altar sprengen.

Then one of the priests will sprinkle that blood against all sides of the altar.

9 Hierauf soll er von dem Heilsopfer Jahwe ein Feueropfer darbringen, und zwar das Fett desselben: den ganzen Fettschwanz - dicht am Schwanzbein soll er ihn wegnehmen -, dazu das Fett, das die Eingeweide bedeckt, samt allem Fett an den Eingeweiden,

You must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: Its fat, the fat tail that you must cut off close to the backbone, and all the fat that covers the inner parts of the lamb or which is attached to them—

10 die beiden Nieren samt dem Fett an ihnen, an den Lendenmuskeln, und das Anhängsel an der Leber; bei den Nieren soll er es wegnehmen.

the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

11 Und der Priester soll es auf dem AItar in Rauch aufgehn lassen als Feueropferspeise für Jahwe.

One of the priests will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh].

12 Besteht aber sein Opfer in einer Ziege, so bringe er es vor Jahwe,

‘If your offering is a goat, you must take/present it to Yahweh.

13 stemme die Hand auf seinen Kopf und schlachte es sodann vor dem Offenbarungszelte; die Söhne Aarons aber sollen das Blut ringsum an den Altar sprengen.

You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it in front of the Sacred Tent. Then one of Aaron’s sons will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.

14 Hierauf bringe er seine Opfergabe davon dar, als Feueropfer für Jahwe, nämlich das Fett, das die Eingeweide bedeckt, und alles Fett an den Eingeweiden,

From that offering you must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: All the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal or which is attached to them,

15 die beiden Nieren samt dem Fett an ihnen, an den Lendenmuskeln, und das Anhängsel an der Leber; bei den Nieren soll er es wegnehmen.

the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

16 Und der Priester soll es auf dem Altar in Rauch aufgehn lassen als eine Jahwe dargebrachte Feueropferspeise lieblichen Geruchs. Alles Fett gehört Jahwe zu!

The priest will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh. All the fat [of the animals that are sacrificed] belongs to Yahweh.

17 Das ist eine für alle Zeiten geltende Satzung, die ihr beobachten sollt von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht in allen euren Wohnsitzen: unter keinen Umständen dürft ihr Fett oder Blut genießen!

‘This is a command that must be obeyed by you and your descendants forever, wherever you live: You must not eat the fat or the blood [of any animal].’”
