Richter 1
1 Nach Josuas Tode aber fragten die Israeliten Jahwe: Wer von uns soll zuerst gegen die Kanaaniter ziehen, um mit ihnen zu kämpfen?
And it was after [the] death of Joshua and they enquired [the] people of Israel by Yahweh saying who? will he go up for us against the Canaanite[s] at the first to engage in battle against him.
2 Jahwe sprach: Juda soll hinziehen; ich werde das Land in seine Gewalt geben!
And he said Yahweh Judah he will go up here! I have given the land in hand his.
3 Juda aber sprach zu seinem Bruder Simeon: Ziehe mit mir hin in meinen Anteil, daß wir die Kanaaniter bekämpfen, so will ich dann auch mit dir in deinen Anteil ziehn! So zog Simeon mit ihm.
And he said Judah to Simeon brother his come up with me in lot my so let us fight against the Canaanite[s] and I will go also I with you in lot your and he went with him Simeon.
4 Und Juda zog hin und Jahwe gab die Kanaaniter und Pheresiter in ihre Gewalt, so daß sie sie bei Besek schlugen - 10000 Mann.
And he went up Judah and he gave Yahweh the Canaanite[s] and the Perizzite[s] in hand their and they defeated them at Bezek ten thousand man.
5 Und sie stießen auf Adonibesek bei Besek, kämpften mit ihm und schlugen die Kanaaniter und Pheresiter.
And they found Adoni-Bezek at Bezek and they fought against him and they defeated the Canaanite[s] and the Perizzite[s].
6 Adonibesek aber floh und sie jagten ihm nach, ergriffen ihn und hieben ihm die Daumen und die großen Zehen ab.
And he fled Adoni-Bezek and they pursued after him and they seized him and they cut off [the] thumbs of hands his and feet his.
7 Da sprach Adonibesek: Siebzig Könige mit abgehauenen Daumen und großen Zehen lasen unter meinem Tische Brocken auf: wie ich gethan habe, so vergilt mir Gott! Sodann brachten sie ihn nach Jerusalem, dort starb er.
And he said Adoni-Bezek seventy - kings [the] thumbs of hands their and feet their cut off they were gathering up under table my just as I have done so he has repaid to me God and they brought him Jerusalem and he died there.
8 Die Judäer aber kämpften gegen Jerusalem, nahmen es ein und eroberten es in blutigem Kampf und die Stadt steckten sie in Brand.
And they fought [the] descendants of Judah against Jerusalem and they captured it and they struck it to [the] mouth of [the] sword and the city they sent in fire.
9 Darnach zogen die Judäer hinab, um die Kanaaniter, die das Gebirge, das Südland und die Niederung bewohnten, zu bekämpfen.
And after they went down [the] descendants of Judah to fight against the Canaanite[s] [who] dwelt of the hill country and the Negev and the Shephelah.
10 Und Juda zog gegen die Kanaaniter, die Hebron bewohnten. Hebron aber hieß früher Kirjath Arba. Und sie besiegten Sesai, Ahiman und Thalmai, die Sprößlinge Enaks.
And he went Judah against the Canaanite[s] who dwelt in Hebron and [the] name of Hebron before [was] Kiriath Arba and they defeated Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai.
11 Von dort zog er gegen die Bewohner von Debir; Debir aber hieß früher Kirjath Sepher.
And he went from there against [the] inhabitants of Debir and [the] name of Debir before [was] Kiriath Sepher.
12 Und Kaleb verhieß: Wer Kirjath Sepher bezwingt und es einnimmt, dem will ich meine Tochter Achsa zum Weibe geben.
And he said Caleb [the one] who he will strike Kiriath Sepher and he will capture it and I will give to him Achsah daughter my to a wife.
13 Da nahm es Othniel, der Sohn des Kenas, der jüngere Bruder Kalebs, ein, und er gab ihm seine Tochter Achsa zum Weibe.
And he captured it Othniel [the] son of Kenaz [the] brother of Caleb young more than him and he gave to him Achsah daughter his to a wife.
14 Als sie ihm nun zugeführt wurde, reizte er sie an, sie möge von ihrem Vater ein Feld verlangen. Sie glitt vom Esel herab, so daß Kaleb sie fragte: Was ist dir?
And it was when came she and she incited him to ask from with father her the field and she went down from on the donkey and he said to her Caleb what? [is] to you.
15 Sie erwiderte ihm: Gieb mir doch ein Abschiedsgeschenk! Denn du hast mich nach dem dürren Südland vergeben, so gieb mir denn Wasserbrunnen! Da gab ihr Kaleb Brunnen in der Höhe und Brunnen in der Niederung.
And she said to him give! to me a blessing for [the] land of the Negev you have given to me and you will give to me springs of water and he gave to her Caleb springs upper and springs lower.
16 Und die Söhne des Keniters, des Schwagers Moses, waren mit den Judäern aus der Palmenstadt heraufgezogen nach der Wüste Juda, die am Abhange von Arad liegt, und sie gingen hin und ließen sich bei den Amalekitern nieder.
And [the] descendants of [the] Kenite [the] father-in-law of Moses they went up from [the] city of the palm trees with [the] descendants of Judah [the] wilderness of Judah which [is] in [the] Negev Arad and he went and he dwelt with the people.
17 Juda aber zog mit seinem Bruder Simeon und sie besiegten die Kanaaniter, die die Stadt Sephat bewohnten, und vollstreckten den Bann an ihr; daher heißt die Stadt Horma.
And he went Judah with Simeon brother his and they attacked the Canaanite[s] [who] dwelt of Zephath and they totally destroyed it and he called [the] name of the city Hormah.
18 Und Juda eroberte Gaza und ihr Gebiet und Askalon und ihr Gebiet und Ekron und ihr Gebiet.
And he captured Judah Gaza and territory its and Ashkelon and territory its and Ekron and territory its.
19 Und Jahwe war mit Juda, so daß er das Bergland eroberte. Die Bewohner der Ebene nämlich vermochte er nicht zu vertreiben, weil sie eiserne Wagen besaßen.
And he was Yahweh with Judah and it took possession of the hill country for not to dispossess [the] inhabitants of the valley for chariotry of iron [belonged] to them.
20 Und sie verliehen Kaleb Hebron, wie Mose geboten hatte, und er vertrieb von dort die drei Sprößlinge Enaks.
And people gave to Caleb Hebron just as he had said Moses and he dispossessed from there three [the] sons of Anak.
21 Aber die Jebusiter, die Bewohner Jerusalems, vermochten die Judäer nicht zu vertreiben. So blieben die Jebusiter bei den Judäern in Jerusalem wohnen bis auf den heutigen Tag.
And the Jebusite[s] [who] dwelt of Jerusalem not they dispossessed [the] descendants of Benjamin and he has dwelt the Jebusite[s] with [the] descendants of Benjamin in Jerusalem until the day this.
22 Die Söhne Josephs aber zogen ihrerseits hinauf gegen Bethel, und Jahwe war mit ihnen.
And they went up [the] house of Joseph also they Beth-el and Yahweh [was] with them.
23 Und die Söhne Josephs ließen Bethel auskundschaften; die Stadt hieß jedoch früher Lus.
And they caused to spy out [the] house of Joseph at Beth-el and [the] name of the city before [was] Luz.
24 Da sahen die Spione einen Mann, der zur Stadt herauskam. Zu dem sagten sie: zeige uns doch, wo wir in die Stadt eindringen können, so werden wir dir Gutes erweisen!
And they saw those [who] watched a man coming out from the city and they said to him show us please [the] entrance of the city and we will do with you loyalty.
25 Da zeigte er ihnen, wo sie in die Stadt eindringen konnten, und sie eroberten die Stadt in blutigem Kampfe, den Mann aber und sein ganzes Geschlecht ließen sie abziehen.
And he showed them [the] entrance of the city and they struck the city to [the] mouth of [the] sword and the man and all family his they let go.
26 Der Mann zog ins Land der Hethiter, erbaute eine Stadt und nannte sie Lus; so heißt sie bis auf den heutigen Tag.
And he went the man [the] land of the Hittites and he built a city and he called name its Luz that [is] name its until the day this.
27 Und Manasse vertrieb nicht die Bewohner von Beth Sean und den zugehörigen Ortschaften, Thaanach und den zugehörigen Ortschaften, die Bewohner von Dor und den zugehörigen Ortschaften, die Bewohner von Jibleam und den zugehörigen Ortschaften und die Bewohner von Megiddo und den zugehörigen Ortschaften. So gelang es den Kanaanitern, in dieser Gegend wohnen zu bleiben.
And not it took possession of Manasseh Beth Shean and daughters its and Taanach and daughters its and ([the] inhabitants of *QK) Dor and daughters its and [the] inhabitants of Ibleam and daughters its and [the] inhabitants of Megiddo and daughters its and it was determined the Canaanite[s] to dwell in the land this.
28 Als aber Israel erstarkt war, machte es die Kanaaniter fronpflichtig; zu vertreiben aber vermochte es sie nicht.
And it was that it became strong Israel and it made the Canaanite[s] into forced labor and certainly not it dispossessed him.
29 Ephraim vertrieb nicht die Kanaaniter, die in Geser wohnten; so blieben die Kanaaniter in seiner Mitte in Geser wohnen.
And Ephraim not it dispossessed the Canaanite[s] who dwelt in Gezer and it dwelt the Canaanite[s] in midst its in Gezer.
30 Sebulon vertrieb nicht die Bewohner von Kitron und die Bewohner von Nahalol; so blieben die Kanaaniter in seiner Mitte wohnen und wurden schließlich fronpflichtig.
Zebulun not it dispossessed [the] inhabitants of Kitron and [the] inhabitants of Nahalol and it dwelt the Canaanite[s] in midst its and they became forced labor.
31 Asser vertrieb nicht die Bewohner von Akko und die Bewohner von Sidon, ferner Ahlab, Achsib, Helba, Aphik und Rehob.
Asher not it dispossessed [the] inhabitants of Acco and [the] inhabitants of Sidon and Ahlab and Aczib and Helbah and Aphek and Rehob.
32 So wohnten die Asseriten inmitten der Kanaaniter, die das Land inne hatten, weil sie sie nicht vertreiben konnten.
And it dwelt the Asherite[s] in [the] midst of the Canaanite[s] [the] inhabitants of the land for not it dispossessed it.
33 Naphthali vertrieb nicht die Bewohner von Beth Semes und die Bewohner von Beth Anath. So wohnte er inmitten der Kanaaniter, die das Land inne hatten, aber die Bewohner von Beth Semes und Beth Anath wurden ihnen fronpflichtig.
Naphtali not it dispossessed [the] inhabitants of Beth Shemesh and [the] inhabitants of Beth Anath and it dwelt in [the] midst of the Canaanite[s] [the] inhabitants of the land and [the] inhabitants of Beth Shemesh and Beth Anath they became for them forced labor.
34 Die Amoriter aber drängten die Daniten auf das Gebirge und ließen sie nicht in die Ebene herabsteigen.
And they pressed the Amorite[s] [the] descendants of Dan the hill country towards for not it permitted it to go down to the valley.
35 So gelang es den Amoritern, in Har Heres, in Ajalon und in Saalbim wohnen zu bleiben. Als ihnen aber das Haus Josephs überlegen war, wurden sie fronpflichtig.
And it was determined the Amorite[s] to dwell in [the] mountain of Heres in Aijalon and in Shaalbim and it was heavy [the] hand of [the] house of Joseph and they became forced labor.
36 Und das Gebiet der Edomiter erstreckte sich von der Skorpionenstiege bis Sela und weiter hinauf.
And [the] border of the Amorite[s] [was] from [the] ascent of scorpions from Sela and up-wards.
