Richter 19
1 Es begab sich aber zu jener Zeit - es gab nämlich noch keinen König in Israel -, da hielt sich ein levitischer Mann im Innern des Gebirges Ephraim als Fremdling auf; der nahm sich ein Mädchen aus Bethlehem in Juda zum Kebsweibe.
And it was in the days those and [was] a king there not in Israel and he was - a man a Levite sojourning in [the] remotest parts of [the] hill country of Ephraim and he took for himself a woman a concubine from Beth-lehem Judah.
2 Aber dieses sein Kebsweib wurde zornig auf ihn und entlief ihm und ging zu ihrer Familie nach Bethlehem in Juda und verweilte dort eine Zeit von vier Monaten.
And she was angry towards him concubine his and she went from with him to [the] house of father her to Beth-lehem Judah and she was there days four months.
3 Darauf machte sich ihr Mann ihr nach auf den Weg, um ihr zuzureden und sie zurückzuholen; er hatte seinen Diener und ein Paar Esel bei sich. Als er nun zu ihrer Familie gelangt war, und der Vater des Mädchens ihn erblickte, war er erfreut über seine Ankunft.
And he arose husband her and he went after her to speak to heart her (to bring back her *QK) and servant his [was] with him and a pair of donkeys and she brought him [the] house of father her and he saw him [the] father of the young woman and he was glad to meet him.
4 Sein Schwiegervater, der Vater des Mädchens, nahm ihn bei der Hand und führte ihn hinein, und er blieb drei Tage bei ihm. Sie aßen und tranken und blieben dort über Nacht.
And he took hold on him father-in-law his [the] father of the young woman and he remained with him three days and they ate and they drank and they spent [the] night there.
5 Am vierten Tag aber, als sie sich des Morgens erhoben hatten, und er sich auf den Weg machen wollte, sagte der Vater des Mädchens zu seinem Eidam: Stärke dich erst mit einem Bissen Brot, hernach mögt ihr reisen!
And it was on the day fourth and they rose early in the morning and he arose to go and he said [the] father of the young woman to son-in-law his sustain heart your a morsel of bread and after you will go.
6 So blieben sie denn und die beiden aßen und tranken zusammen; dann aber bat der Vater des Mädchens den Mann: Laß es dir doch gefallen und bleibe über Nacht und sei guter Dinge!
And they sat down and they ate [the] two of them together and they drank and he said [the] father of the young woman to the man be willing please and spend [the] night so it may be good heart your.
7 Aber der Mann erhob sich zum Weggehen; sein Schwiegervater nötigte ihn jedoch, daß er noch einmal über Nacht dablieb.
And he arose the man to go and he urged him father-in-law his and he turned back and he spent [the] night there.
8 Als er sich dann am fünften Tage frühmorgens aufmachte, um zu gehen, sagte der Vater des Mädchens: Stärke dich doch erst, und verzieht, bis der Tag sich neigt! So aßen die beiden zusammen.
And he rose early in the morning on the day fifth to go and he said - [the] father of the young woman sustain please heart your and delay until declines the day and they ate [the] two of them.
9 Als dann der Mann aufstand, um mit seinem Kebsweib und seinem Diener zu gehen, sagte sein Schwiegervater, der Vater des Mädchens, zu ihm: Sieh' doch, wie der Tag abgenommen hat, es wird Abend: bleibt doch über Nacht! Sieh', wie der Tag sich neigt: bleibe hier über Nacht und sei guter Dinge! Morgen früh mögt ihr dann eures Weges ziehen, damit du heim gelangst.
And he arose the man to go he and concubine his and servant his and he said to him father-in-law his [the] father of the young woman here! please it is sinking the day to become evening spend [the] night please here! to decline the day spend [the] night here so it may be good heart your and you will rise early tomorrow for journey your and you will go to tent your.
10 Aber der Mann weigerte sich, über Nacht zu bleiben, machte sich auf den Weg und gelangte bis gegenüber von Jebus, das ist Jerusalem. Er hatte aber ein Paar gesattelter Esel und sein Kebsweib bei sich.
And not he was willing the man to spend [the] night and he arose and he went and he came to opposite Jebus that [is] Jerusalem and [were] with him a pair of donkeys saddled and concubine his [was] with him.
11 Als sie sich nun bei Jebus befanden, und der Tag schon stark abgenommen hatte, sprach der Diener zu seinem Herrn: Komm, laß uns in der Jebusiterstadt da einkehren und darin übernachten!
They [were] near Jebus and the day it had gone down exceedingly and he said the servant to master his come! please so let us turn aside to [the] city of the Jebusite[s] this so we may spend [the] night in it.
12 Sein Herr entgegnete ihm: Wir wollen nicht in einer Stadt der Fremden einkehren, wo keine Israeliten wohnen, sondern wollen bis Gibea weiter ziehen.
And he said to him master his not we will turn aside to a city foreign who not [are] of [the] people of Israel they and we will pass on to Gibeah.
13 Und er sprach zu seinem Diener: Komm, wir wollen nach einer der Ortschaften hingehen und in Gibea oder Rama übernachten.
And he said to servant his (come! *QK) so let us drew near at one of the places and we will spend [the] night in Gibeah or in Ramah.
14 So zogen sie des Weges weiter, aber nahe bei Gibea, das zu Benjamin gehört, ging ihnen die Sonne unter.
And they passed on and they went and it went for them the sun beside Gibeah which [belongs] to Benjamin.
15 Da kehrte sie dort ein, um in Gibea zu übernachten. Als er nun hinkam, verweilte er auf dem freien Platze der Stadt - aber da war niemand, der sie zum Übernachten in sein Haus aufgenommen hätte.
And they turned aside there to go to spend [the] night in Gibeah and he went and he sat in [the] open square of the city and not anyone [was] receiving them the house towards to spend [the] night.
16 Es erschien aber ein alter Mann, der des Abends von seiner Arbeit vom Felde heimkehrte; er stammte vom Gebirge Ephraim und verweilte als Fremdling in Gibea, während die Leute des Orts Benjaminiten waren.
And there! - a man old [was] coming from work his from the field in the evening and the man [was] from [the] hill country of Ephraim and he [was] sojourning in Gibeah and [the] men of the place [were] Ben-jaminites.
17 Als dieser nun aufsah und den Wanderer auf dem freien Platze der Stadt erblickte, fragte der alte Mann: Wohin gehst du und woher kommst du?
And he lifted up eyes his and he saw the man who was traveling in [the] open square of the city and he said the man old where? are you going and from where? are you coming.
18 Er antwortete ihm: Wir sind auf der Durchreise von Bethlehem in Juda nach dem Innern des Gebirges Ephraim; von da bin ich her. Ich bin nach Bethlehem in Juda gereist und bin nun unterwegs nach meinem Hause - aber da ist niemand, der mich in sein Haus aufnimmt!
And he said to him [are] passing we from Beth-lehem Judah to [the] remotest parts of [the] hill country of Ephraim [am] from there I and I went to Beth-lehem Judah and [the] house of Yahweh I [am] going and not anyone [was] receiving me the house towards.
19 Wir haben sowohl Stroh, als Futter für unsere Esel; ebenso haben wir Brot und Wein für mich und deine Magd und für den Diener, den deine Sklaven bei sich haben: an gar nichts fehlt es.
And [are] both straw as well as fodder there for donkeys our and [are] also food and wine there for me and for maidservant your and for the servant with servants your there not [is] lack of any thing.
20 Da sagte der alte Mann: Willkommen! Nur, wenn es dir an irgend etwas gebricht, überlaß mir die Sorge! Jedenfalls aber darfst du nicht im Freien übernachten.
And he said the man old peace [be] to you certainly all lack your [is] on me only in the open square may not you spend [the] night.
21 Hierauf führte er ihn in sein Haus und gab den Eseln Futter; und sie wuschen ihre Füße und aßen und tranken.
And he brought him to house his (and he fed *Qk) the donkeys and they washed feet their and they ate and they drank.
22 Während sie so sich gütlich thaten, da umringen plötzlich die Männer der Stadt, nichtswürdige Menschen, das Haus, drängten gegen die Thür und riefen dem alten Manne, dem Hausherrn zu: Gieb den Mann heraus, der in deinem Haus eingekehrt ist, daß wir ihm beiwohnen!
They [were] making good heart their and there! [the] men of the city men of sons of worthlessness they surrounded the house beating violently on the door and they said to the man [the] master of the house old saying bring out the man who he came to house your so we may know him.
23 Da ging der Mann, der Hausherr, zu ihnen hinaus und sprach zu ihnen: Nicht doch, ihr Brüder! Begeht kein Unrecht! Nachdem dieser Mann in mein Haus eingekehrt ist, dürft ihr eine solche Schandthat nicht verüben!
And he went out to them the man [the] master of the house and he said to them may [you] not O brothers my may not you do evil please after that he has come the man this may [you] not house my may not you do the disgraceful folly this.
24 Da ist ja meine jungfräuliche Tochter und sein Kebsweib; die will ich euch herausgeben, und ihr mögt ihnen Gewalt anthun und mit ihnen verfahren, wie es euch gutdünkt. Aber an diesem Manne dürft ihr eine derartige Schandthat nicht verüben!
Here! daughter my the virgin and concubine his let me bring out please them and afflict them and do to them the good in eyes your and to the man this not you must do [the] thing of disgraceful folly this.
25 Aber die Männer wollten nicht auf ihn hören. Da faßte der Mann sein Kebsweib und führte sie zu ihnen hinaus auf die Straße, und sie wohnten ihr bei und trieben ihren Mutwillen mit ihr die ganze Nacht hindurch bis an den Morgen und ließen sie erst los, als die Morgenröte aufging.
And not they were willing the men to listen to him and he took hold the man on concubine his and he brought [her] out to them outside and they knew her and they abused her all the night until the morning and they let go her (just as came up *QK) the dawn.
26 Als nun der Morgen anbrach, kam das Weib und brach vor der Hausthüre des Mannes, bei dem ihr Herr weilte, zusammen und blieb liegen bis zum lichten Tag.
And she came the woman to [the] turning of the morning and she fell [the] entrance of [the] house of the man where master her [was] there until the light.
27 Als aber ihr Herr am Morgen aufstand, die Hausthür öffnete und heraustrat, um seines Weges zu ziehen, - da lag das Weib, sein Kebsweib, vor der Thüre des Hauses mit den Händen auf der Schwelle.
And he arose master her in the morning and he opened [the] doors of the house and he went out to go to way his and there! the woman concubine his [was] falling [the] entrance of the house and hands her [were] on the threshold.
28 Er redete sie an: Steh' auf, wir wollen gehn! - aber es erfolgte keine Antwort. Da lud er sie auf den Esel und der Mann machte sich auf den Weg nach seinem Wohnsitz.
And he said to her get up so let us go and there not [was one who] answered and he took her on the donkey and he arose the man and he went to place his.
29 Als er aber heimkam, nahm er ein Messer, erfaßte sein Kebsweib, zerstückte sie vollständig in zwölf Stücke und sandte sie im ganzen Bereich Israels umher.
And he came to house his and he took the knife and he took hold on concubine his and he cut in pieces her to bones her into two plus ten pieces and he sent out her in all [the] territory of Israel.
30 Da rief dann ein jeder, der es zu Gesichte bekam: So etwas ist nicht geschehen, noch gesehen worden seit der Zeit, wo die Israeliten aus Ägypten wegzogen bis auf den heutigen Tag! Nun bedenkt euch darüber, ratet und sprecht!
And it was every [one who] saw and he said not it has occurred and not it has been seen like this from [the] day came up [the] people of Israel from [the] land of Egypt until the day this set for yourselves on it take counsel and speak.
