Richter 16
1 Simson aber ging nach Gaza. Dort lernte er eine Buhlerin kennen und wohnte ihr bei.
And he went Samson Gaza towards and he saw there a woman a prostitute and he went into her.
2 Als aber den Gaziten hinterbracht wurde: Simson ist hierher gekommen! da umzingelten sie die Stadt und lauerten ihm die ganze Nacht hindurch am Stadtthor auf, verhielten sich aber die ganze Nacht stille, weil sie dachten: Bis der Morgen tagt, werden wir ihn erschlagen.
To the Gazites - saying he has come Samson here and they surrounded and they lay in wait for him all the night at [the] gate of the city and they were silent all the night saying until [the] light of the morning and we will kill him.
3 Simson aber blieb bis Mitternacht liegen. Um Mitternacht aber stand er auf, faßte die beiden Flügel des Stadtthors samt den beiden Pfosten und hob sie zugleich mit dem Riegel aus. Sodann legte er sie auf seine Schultern und trug sie auf den Gipfel des Bergs, der Hebron gegenüber liegt.
And he lay down Samson until [the] middle of the night and he arose - in [the] middle of the night and he took hold on [the] doors of [the] gate of the city and on [the] two the doorposts and he pulled up them with the bar and he put [them] on shoulders his and he carried up them to [the] top of the mountain which [is] on [the] face of Hebron.
4 Späterhin begab es sich, daß er am Bache Sorek ein Weib liebgewann namens Delila.
And it was after thus and he loved a woman in [the] valley of Sorek and name her [was] Delilah.
5 Da kamen die Fürsten der Philister zu ihr herauf und redeten ihr zu: Berede ihn, damit du erfährst, worauf es beruht, daß er so stark ist, und womit wir ihm beikommen können, daß wir ihn fesseln und bezwingen, so wollen wir dir Mann für Mann 1100 Silbersekel geben!
And they went up to her [the] rulers of [the] Philistines and they said to her entice him and see how? [is] strength his great and how? will we prevail to him and we will bind him to humble him and we we will give to you each one thousand and one hundred silver.
6 Da redete Delila Simson zu: Verrate mir doch, worauf es beruht, daß du so stark bist, und womit man dich fesseln müßte, um dich zu bezwingen!
And she said Delilah to Samson tell! please to me how? [is] strength your great and how? will you be bound to humble you.
7 Simson erwiderte ihr: Wenn man mich mit sieben frischen Schnüren bände, die nicht ausgetrocknet sind, würde ich schwach und wäre wie ein anderer Mensch.
And he said to her Samson if people will bind me with seven cords fresh which not they have been dried and I will be weak and I will be like one of humankind.
8 Da brachten ihr die Fürsten der Philister sieben frische Schnüre, die nicht ausgetrocknet waren, und sie band ihn damit.
And they brought up to her [the] rulers of [the] Philistines seven cords fresh which not they had been dried and she bound him with them.
9 Es saßen aber auf ihr Anstiften Leute zum Auflauern im inneren Gemach. Als sie ihm nun zurief: Die Philister sind an dir, Simson! da zerriß er die Schnüre, wie man einen Wergfaden zerreißt, wenn er dem Feuer zu nahe kommt, - aber das Geheimnis seiner Kraft ward nicht kund.
And the ambusher [was] sitting of her in the chamber and she said to him [the] Philistines [are] on you O Samson and he tore apart the cords just as it is torn apart thread of tow when smells it fire and not it was known strength his.
10 Da hielt Delila Simson vor: Du hast mich also hintergangen und mir Lügen vorgeredet! So sage mir denn jetzt, womit man dich fesseln kann!
And she said Delilah to Samson here! you have deceived me and you have spoken to me lies now tell! please to me how? will you be bound.
11 Er erwiderte ihr: Wenn man mich mit neuen Stricken bände, mit denen noch keinerlei Arbeit gethan ist, so würde ich schwach und wäre wie ein anderer Mensch.
And he said to her certainly [if] they will bind me with ropes new which not it has been done with them work and I will be weak and I will be like one of humankind.
12 Da nahm Delila neue Stricke und band ihn damit; dann rief sie ihm zu: Die Philister sind an dir, Simson! während Leute zum Auflauern im inneren Gemache saßen. Er aber riß sie von seinen Armen ab wie einen Faden.
And she took Delilah ropes new and she bound him with them and she said to him [the] Philistines [are] on you O Samson and the ambusher [was] sitting in the chamber and he tore apart them from on arms his like thread.
13 Nun hielt Delila Simson vor: Bisher hast du mich hintergangen und mir Lügen vorgeredet: verrate mir doch, womit man dich fesseln kann! Er erwiderte ihr: Wenn du die sieben Locken auf meinem Haupte mit dem Aufzug eines Gewebes verflöchtest
And she said Delilah to Samson until now you have deceived me and you have spoken to me lies tell! to me how? will you be bound and he said to her if you will weave seven [the] plaits of head my with the web. (And you will strike with a pin to the wall and I will be weak and I will be like one man. *X)
14 und mit dem Webepflock befestigtest, würde ich schwach und wäre wie ein anderer Mensch. Als er nun schlief, nahm Delila die sieben Locken auf seinem Haupte, verflocht sie mit dem Aufzug und befestigte ihn mit dem Webepflock. Dann rief sie ihm zu: Die Philister sind an dir, Simson! Da erwachte er aus seinem Schlaf und riß den Webepflock samt dem Aufzug heraus.
(And she made sleep him and she wove seven [the] plaits head his with the web *X) and she thrust with the pin and she said to him [the] Philistines [are] on you O Samson and he awoke from sleep his and he pulled out the pin of the loom and the web.
15 Da hielt ihm Delila vor: Wie kannst du sagen: ich liebe dich! während dein Herz mir entfremdet ist? Dreimal hast du mich nun hintergangen und mir nicht verraten, worauf es beruht, daß du so stark bist!
And she said to him how? will you say I love you and heart your not [is] with me this three times you have deceived me and not you have told to me how? [is] strength your great.
16 Als sie ihm aber mit ihren Reden unaufhörlich zusetzte und ihn so quälte, daß ihm das Leben ganz verleidet war,
And it was that she pressed him with words her all the days and she urged him and it was short self his to die.
17 da entdeckte er ihr die volle Wahrheit und sprach zu ihr: Auf mein Haupt ist noch kein Schermesser gekommen, denn ich bin ein Gottgeweihter von Mutterleibe an: - würde ich beschoren, so würde meine Kraft von mir weichen; ich würde schwach und wäre wie jeder andere Mensch.
And he told to her all heart his and he said to her a razor not it has come up on head my for [am] a Nazirite of God I from [the] womb of mother my if I was shaved and it will depart from me strength my and I will be weak and I will be like every man.
18 Da nun Delila erkannte, daß er ihr die volle Wahrheit entdeckt hatte, sandte sie hin und ließ die Philisterfürsten rufen, indem sie ihnen sagen ließ: Diesmal müßt ihr herkommen, denn er hat mir die volle Wahrheit entdeckt! Da kamen die Philisterfürsten und brachten das Geld mit sich.
And she saw Delilah that he had told to her all heart his and she sent and she summoned [the] rulers of [the] Philistines saying come up this time for he has told (to me *QK) all heart his and they came up to her [the] rulers of [the] Philistines and they brought up the silver in hand their.
19 Sie aber ließ ihn auf ihrem Schoß einschlafen; dann rief sie einen Mann, der schor die sieben Locken auf seinem Haupte ab. Da wurde er schwächer und schwächer, und seine Stärke verließ ihn.
And she made sleep him on knees her and she summoned the man and she shaved off seven [the] plaits of head his and she began to humble him and it departed strength his from on him.
20 Als sie nun rief: Die Philister sind an dir, Simson! und er aus seinem Schlaf erwachte, dachte er: Ich komme davon, wie immer, und schüttle mich frei! - er wußte nämlich nicht, daß Jahwe von ihm gewichen war.
And she said [the] Philistines [are] on you O Samson and he awoke from sleep his and he said I will go out as time on time so I may shake myself free and he not he knew that Yahweh he had departed from with him.
21 Da nahmen ihn die Philister fest und stachen ihm die Augen aus. Dann brachten sie ihn hinunter nach Gaza und schlugen ihn in eherne Fesseln, und er mußte im Gefängnis die Mühle drehen.
And they seized him [the] Philistines and they gouged out eyes his and they brought down him Gaza towards and they bound him with bronze fetters and he was grinding in [the] house of (those imprisoned. *QK)
22 Aber sein Haupthaar begann, nachdem es geschoren war, wieder zu wachsen.
And it began [the] hair of head his to grow back when it had been shaved.
23 Nun kamen einst die Fürsten der Philister zusammen, um ihrem Gotte Dagon ein großes Opferfest zu veranstalten und ein Freudenfest zu feiern, weil sie sich sagten: Unser Gott hat unsern Feind Simson in unsere Gewalt gegeben!
And [the] rulers of [the] Philistines they gathered to sacrifice a sacrifice great to Dagon god their and for joy and they said he has given god our in hand our Samson enemies our.
24 Als ihn nun das Volk erblickte, priesen sie ihren Gott, weil sie sich sagten: Unser Gott hat unsern Feind, den Verwüster unseres Landes, den, der uns so viele erschlagen hat, in unsere Gewalt gegeben!
And they saw him the people and they praised god their for they said he has given god our in hand our enemy our and [the] desolator of land our and who he has multiplied slain [ones] our.
25 Als sie nun guter Dinge wurden, riefen sie: Laßt Simson holen, daß er uns belustige! Da ließ man Simson aus dem Gefängnis holen und er mußte sie belustigen; und zwar hatte man ihn zwischen die Säulen gestellt.
And it was (like good *QK) heart their and they said summon Samson so he may make sport for us and they summoned Samson from [the] house of (those imprisoned *QK) and he made sport before them and they made stand him between the pillars.
26 Da bat Simson den Diener, der ihn an der Hand hielt: Laß mich einmal los, daß ich die Säulen ertaste, auf denen das Haus ruht, und mich an sie lehne!
And he said Samson to the young man who kept hold on hand his permit! me (and let feel me *QK) the pillars which the house [is] established on them so I may lean on them.
27 Das Haus war aber voll von Männern und Weibern; auch waren alle Fürsten der Philister anwesend, und auf dem Dache befanden sich gegen 3000 Männer und Weiber, die dem Spiele Simsons zusahen.
And the house [was] full men and women and [were] there all [the] rulers of [the] Philistines and [were] on the roof about three thousand man and woman who were looking when sported Samson.
28 Da rief Simson Jahwe an und sprach: Herr Jahwe! Gedenke doch meiner und gieb mir doch nur dies eine Mal noch Kraft, o Gott, damit ich für meine beiden Augen mit einem Schlag an den Philistern Rache nehme!
And he called out Samson to Yahweh and he said O Lord Yahweh remember me please and strengthen me please only the time this O God so let me avenge myself vengeance of one from [the] two eyes my from [the] Philistines.
29 Hierauf umfaßte Simson die beiden Mittelsäulen, auf denen das Haus ruhte, eine mit seiner Rechten, die andere mit seiner Linken, und drückte auf sie.
And he grasped Samson [the] two - [the] pillars of the middle which the house [was] established on them and he supported himself on them one in right [hand] his and one in left [hand] his.
30 Dabei rief Simson: Nun will ich mit den Philistern umkommen! und neigte sich mit Macht, so daß das Haus auf die Fürsten und auf alles Volk, das sich darin befand, herabstürzte, und der Toten, die er bei seinem Tode getötet, mehr waren, als derer, die er bei Lebzeiten getötet hatte.
And he said Samson let it die life my with [the] Philistines and he stretched out with strength and it fell the house on the rulers and on all the people which [was] in it and they were the dead whom he killed in death his many more than [those] whom he had killed in life his.
31 Da kamen seine Brüder und seine ganze Familie herab, holten ihn hinauf und begruben ihn zwischen Zorea und Esthaol in der Gruft seines Vaters Manoah. Zwanzig Jahre lang hatte er Israel gerichtet.
And they went down brothers his and all [the] household of father his and they carried him and they brought [him] up - and they buried him between Zorah and between Eshtaol in [the] tomb of Manoah father his and he he judged Israel twenty year[s].
