Johannes 17

1 Dieses hatte Jesus geredet, da hob er seine Augen auf zum Himmel und sagte: Vater, die Stunde ist gekommen, damit der Sohn dich verherrliche.

These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son, that your Son also may glorify you:

2 Wie du ihm Vollmacht gegeben hast über alles Fleisch, damit er, was alles du ihm gegeben hast, denselben ewiges Leben gebe. (aiōnios g166)

As you have given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as you have given him. (aiōnios g166)

3 Dies aber ist das ewige Leben, daß sie dich erkennen, den allein wahrhaften Gott, und den du gesandt hast, Jesus Christus. (aiōnios g166)

And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (aiōnios g166)

4 Ich habe dich auf Erden verherrlicht, indem ich das Werk vollbracht habe, das du mir aufgegeben hast, daß ich es vollbringe.

I have glorified you on the earth: I have finished the work which you gave me to do.

5 Und nun verherrliche du mich, o Vater, bei dir mit der Herrlichkeit, welche ich bei dir hatte, ehe die Welt war.

And now, O Father, glorify you me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world was.

6 Ich habe deinen Namen den Menschen geoffenbart, die du mir aus der Welt gegeben hast. Sie waren dein, und du hast sie mir gegeben und sie haben dein Wort bewahrt.

I have manifested your name unto the men which you gave me out of the world: your they were, and you gave them me; and they have kept your word. (logos)

7 Nun haben sie erkannt, daß alles was du mir gegeben hast, von dir ist;

Now they have known that all things whatsoever you have given me are of you.

8 weil ich die Worte, die du mir gegeben hattest, ihnen gegeben habe; und sie haben sie angenommen und haben wahrhaft erkannt, daß ich von dir ausgegangen bin, und geglaubt, daß du mich abgesandt hast.

For I have given unto them the words (rhema) which you gave me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from you, and they have believed that you did send me.

9 Ich bitte für sie; nicht für die Welt bitte ich, sondern für die, die du mir gegeben hast, weil sie dein sind,

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which you have given me; for they are yours.

10 und was mein ist, alles dein ist, und was dein ist, mein, und ich an ihnen verherrlicht bin.

And all mine are yours, and your are mine; and I am glorified in them.

11 Ich wohl bin nicht mehr in der Welt, doch sie sind in der Welt, da ich zu dir gehe. Heiliger Vater, bewahre sie in deinem Namen, den du mir gegeben hast, damit sie eins seien, so wie wir.

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to you. Holy Father, keep through your own name those whom you have given me, that they may be one, as we are.

12 Als ich bei ihnen war, habe ich sie in deinem Namen bewahrt, den du mir gegeben hast, und habe sie behütet, und keiner von ihnen ist verdorben, als der Sohn des Verderbens, damit die Schrift erfüllt würde;

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name: those that you gave me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

13 jetzt aber komme ich zu dir. Und dieses rede ich in der Welt, damit sie meine Freude vollkommen in sich haben.

And now come I to you; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

14 Ich habe ihnen dein Wort gegeben, und die Welt hat sie gehaßt, weil sie nicht von der Welt sind, so wie ich nicht von der Welt bin.

I have given them your word; (logos) and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 Ich bitte nicht, daß du sie aus der Welt wegnehmest, aber daß du sie vor dem Bösen bewahrest.

I pray not that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil.

16 Sie sind nicht von der Welt, so wie ich nicht von der Welt bin.

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17 Heilige sie in der Wahrheit; dein Wort ist Wahrheit.

Sanctify them through your truth: your word (logos) is truth.

18 So wie du mich in die Welt gesandt hast, so habe auch ich sie in die Welt gesandt.

As you have sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

19 Und ich heilige mich für sie, daß auch sie geheiligt seien in Wahrheit.

And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

20 Nicht für diese allein aber bitte ich, sondern auch für die, welche durch ihr Wort an mich glauben:

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; (logos)

21 auf daß alle eins seien, so wie du, Vater, in mir und ich in dir, daß auch sie in uns seien, auf daß die Welt glaube, daß du mich gesandt hast.

That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me.

22 Und zwar habe ich ihnen die Herrlichkeit gegeben, die du mir gegeben hast, auf daß sie eins seien, so wie wir eins sind,

And the glory which you gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 ich in ihnen und du in mir, auf daß sie zur Einheit vollendet seien, damit die Welt erkenne, daß du mich gesandt hast, und sie geliebt hast, so wie du mich geliebt hast.

I in them, and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them, as you have loved me.

24 Vater, was du mir gegeben hast, ich will, daß wo ich bin, auch sie bei mir seien, daß sie meine Herrlichkeit schauen, die du mir gegeben hast, weil du mich geliebt hast vor Grundlegung der Welt.

Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the world.

25 Gerechter Vater, wohl hat dich die Welt nicht erkannt, doch ich habe dich erkannt, und diese haben erkannt, daß du mich gesandt hast.

O righteous Father, the world has not known you: but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me.

26 Und ich habe ihnen deinen Namen kundgethan, und werde ihnen denselben kund thun, damit die Liebe, mit der du mich geliebt hast, in ihnen sei, und ich in ihnen.

And I have declared unto them your name, and will declare it: that the love (agape) wherewith you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
