Jeremia 33

1 Da erging das Wort Jahwes an Jeremia, während er noch im Wachthofe in Haft gehalten wurde, zum zweiten Male also:

And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still confined to the atrium of the prison, saying:

2 So spricht Jahwe, der es ausführt, Jahwe, der es plant, um es zu verwirklichen - Jahwe ist sein Name! -:

“Thus says the Lord, who will prepare, and form, and accomplish it; the Lord is his name.

3 Rufe mich an, so will ich dir antworten und dir Großes und Unbegreifliches, das du bisher nicht kanntest, verkündigen!

Cry out to me and I will heed you. And I will announce to you great things, things that are certain, though you do not know them.

4 Ja, so spricht Jahwe, der Gott Israels, in betreff der Häuser dieser Stadt und in betreff der Paläste der Könige von Juda, die da zertrümmert wurden für die Belagerungswälle und für das Schwert.

For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to the houses of this city, and to the houses of the king of Judah, which have been destroyed, and to the fortifications, and to the sword

5 Es kommen welche, um mit den Chaldäern zu streiten und die Häuser mit den Leichen der Menschen anzufüllen, die ich in meinem Zorn und in meinem Grimm erschlagen und um deren gesamter Bosheit willen ich mein Antlitz vor dieser Stadt verhüllt habe.

of those who have arrived, so that they may fight with the Chaldeans, and so that they may have their fill of the dead bodies of the men whom I have struck down in my fury and in my indignation, concealing my face from this city, because of all their wickedness:

6 Fürwahr, ich will ihr einen Verband und Heilmittel auflegen und ihnen Heilung schaffen und ihnen Überfluß an beständigem Heil eröffnen

Behold, I will lead over them scars and health, and I will cure them. And I will reveal to them an invocation of peace and truth.

7 und will die Gefangenen Judas und die Gefangenen Israels zurückbringen und wiederherstellen wie zuvor.

And I will convert the turning away of Judah and the turning away of Jerusalem. And I will build them up, just as from the beginning.

8 Und ich will sie reinigen von aller ihrer Verschuldung, die sie gegen mich begangen haben, und will ihnen alle Verschuldungen verzeihen, die sie gegen mich begangen haben und mit denen sie sich gegen mich empört haben,

And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, by which they have sinned against me. And I will forgive all their iniquities, by which they have offended against me and have despised me.

9 daß sie mir zum Ruhme, zur Wonne, zum Preise und zur Verherrlichung gereichen soll bei allen Völkern der Erde, die, wenn sie von all' dem Guten hören, das ich ihnen erweise, beben und zittern werden ob all' des Guten und all' des Heils, das ich ihr erweise.

And this will be for me: a name, and a joy, and a praise, and an exultation, among all the nations of the earth who will hear about all the good things that I will accomplish for them. And they will be afraid and troubled over all these good things, and over all the peace, that I will accomplish for them.

10 So spricht Jahwe: Man soll an diesem Orte, von dem ihr sagt: Verödet ist er, bewohnerlos und ohne Vieh! in den Städten Judas und auf den Gassen Jerusalems, den verödeten, die da menschenleer und ohne Bewohner und ohne Vieh sind,

Thus says the Lord: Still shall there be heard in this place, (which you say is desolate, because there is neither man nor beast, ) and in the cities of Judah and outside of Jerusalem, (which are desolate, without man, and without an inhabitant and without cattle, )

11 wiederum vernehmen Wonnejubel und Freudenjubel, Bräutigamsjubel und Brautjubel, Jubel derer, die da rufen: Preiset Jahwe der Heerscharen, denn gütig ist Jahwe, denn immerdar währt seine Huld! die da Dankopfer zum Tempel Jahwes bringen: denn ich werde die Gefangenen des Landes heimkehren lassen, daß sie seien wie zuvor, - spricht Jahwe.

the voice of gladness and the voice of rejoicing, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say: ‘Confess to the Lord of hosts! For the Lord is good! For his mercy is eternal!’ and the voice of those fulfilling their vows in the house of the Lord. For I will lead back the turning away of the land, just as from the beginning, says the Lord.”

12 So spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen: Es soll an diesem Orte, der da verödet, leer von Menschen wie von Vieh ist, und in allen seinen Städten wiederum eine Aue bevölkert von Hirten, die ihre Herde sich lagern lassen, vorhanden sein;

Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Still shall there be in this place, (which is desolate without man and without beast, ) and in all of its cities: a habitation for the shepherds giving rest to their flocks.

13 in den Städten auf dem Gebirge, in den Städten in der Niederung und in den Städten des Südlandes und im Lande Benjamin und in der Umgebung von Jerusalem und in den Städten Judas sollen die Schafe wiederum an dem sie zählenden vorüberziehen - spricht Jahwe.

For even in the cities on the mountains, and in the cities on the plains, and in the cities that are toward the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and all around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, still shall the flocks travel by the hand of him who numbers them, says the Lord.

14 Fürwahr, es kommt die Zeit, ist der Spruch Jahwes, da will ich die freundliche Verheißung, die ich in betreff des Hauses Israel und des Hauses Juda gegeben habe, in Erfüllung gehen lassen:

Behold, the days are approaching, says the Lord, when I will fulfill the good word that I have spoken to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

15 in jenen Tagen und zu jener Zeit will ich David sprossen lassen einen rechten Sproß, daß er Recht und Gerechtigkeit im Lande übe!

In those days and at that time, I will cause the seedling of justice to spring up from David, and he will accomplish judgment and justice upon the earth.

16 In jenen Tagen wird Juda geholfen werden, und Jerusalem in Sicherheit wohnen, und das wird der Name sein, mit dem man es benennen wird: “Jahwe ist unsere Gerechtigkeit!”

In those days, Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in confidence. And this is the name that they will call him: ‘The Lord, our Just One.’

17 Denn so spricht Jahwe: Es soll David nie an einem Nachkommen fehlen, der auf dem Throne des Hauses Israel sitze,

For thus says the Lord: There shall not cease to be a man from David sitting upon the throne of the house of Israel.

18 und den levitischen Priestern soll es nie an einem Nachkommen fehlen, der vor mir stehe, der Brandopfer darbringe und Speisopfer in Rauch aufgehen lasse und Schlachtopfer zurichte allezeit!

And there shall not cease to be a man from the priests and from the Levites before my face, who offers holocausts, and burns sacrifices, and kills victims, for days without end.”

19 Da erging das Wort Jahwes an Jeremia folgendermaßen:

And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:

20 So spricht Jahwe: So wenig ihr meinen Bund mit dem Tag und meinen Bund mit der Nacht aufzuheben vermögt, daß Tag und Nacht nicht mehr zu ihrer Zeit einträten,

“Thus says the Lord: If my covenant with the day is able to be nullified, or my covenant with the night, such that there would be no day and no night in their time,

21 so wenig wird auch mein Bund mit meinem Knechte David aufgehoben werden, daß er nicht mehr einen Abkömmling haben sollte, der auf seinem Throne herrsche, und mit meinen Dienern, den priesterlichen Leviten.

then, too, my covenant with David, my servant, may be nullified, such that he would not have a son who reigns upon his throne, with both the Levites and the priests as my ministers.

22 Wie das Heer des Himmels nicht gezählt, und der Sand des Meers nicht gemessen werden kann, - so unzählbar will ich die Nachkommen meines Knechtes David machen und die Leviten, die mir dienen.

Just as the stars of heaven are not able to be numbered, and the sand of the sea is not able to be measured, so will I multiply the offspring of David, my servant, and the Levites, my ministers.”

23 Da erging das Wort Jahwes an Jeremia folgendermaßen:

And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:

24 Hast du nicht wahrgenommen, was diese Leute da reden, indem sie sagen: Die beiden Reiche, die Jahwe erwählt hatte, die hat er verworfen! und daß sie von meinem Volke lästerlich sagen, es sei in ihren Augen kein Volk mehr?

“Have you not seen what this people has spoken? They say: ‘The two families which the Lord had chosen have been rejected.’ And so they have despised my people, as if they were no longer a nation in their sight.

25 So spricht Jahwe: So gewiß mein Bund mit Tag und Nacht besteht, so gewiß ich die Ordnungen des Himmels und der Erde geschaffen habe,

Thus says the Lord: If I have not established my covenant with the day and the night, and my laws over heaven and earth,

26 so wenig will ich die Nachkommen Jakobs und meines Knechtes David verwerfen, daß ich aus seinen Nachkommen nicht mehr Herrscher über die Nachkommen Abrahams, Isaaks und Jakobs entnehmen sollte; denn ich will ihr Geschick wenden und mich ihrer wiederum erbarmen!

then truly I will also cast aside the offspring of Jacob, and of David, my servant, so that I do not take up any of his offspring to be leaders over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will lead back their turning away, and I will take pity on them.”
