Jesaja 57
1 Der Gerechte kommt um, ohne daß es jemand zu Herzen nähme, und die Frommen werden dahingerafft, ohne daß jemand darauf achtet, daß infolge der herrschenden Schlechtigkeit der Gerechte dahingerafft wurde.
The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth [it] to heart: and merciful men [are] taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come].
2 In Frieden geht er ein in sein Grab: sie ruhen auf ihren Lagerstätten, die ihres Wegs geradeaus gewandelt sind.
He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, [each one] walking [in] his uprightness.
3 Ihr aber, tretet hierher, ihr Söhne der Zauberin! Ihr Brut eines Ehebrechers und einer Hure -
But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the lewd.
4 über wen macht ihr euch doch lustig? Gegen wen reißt ihr das Maul auf, streckt ihr die Zunge heraus? Seid ihr nicht die abtrünnigen Kinder, eine Lügenbrut?
Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, [and] thrust out the tongue? [are] ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,
5 die in Brunst geraten an den Terebinthen, unter jedem grünen Baume, die ihre Kinder schlachten in den Bachthälern, unter den Klüften der Felsen.
Inflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the cliffs of the rocks?
6 An glatten Steinen im Bachthal hast du deinen Anteil, - sie, sie sind dein Los! Auch ihnen hast du Trankopfer ausgegossen, Speisopfer dargebracht. Soll ich mich darüber zufrieden geben?
Among the smooth [stones] of the stream [is] thy portion; they, they [are] thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink-offering, thou hast offered a meat-offering. Should I receive comfort in these?
7 Auf hohem und ragendem Berge hast du dein Lager hingestellt: auch dort hinauf bist du gestiegen, um Opfer zu schlachten.
Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither thou wentest up to offer sacrifice.
8 Und hinter der Thür und dem Pfosten brachtest du dein Merkzeichen an, denn abtrünnig von mir hast du dein Lager aufgedeckt und bestiegen, hast es weit gemacht, und du bedangst dir von ihnen deinen Lohn aus, du liebtest ihr Beilager, schautest aus nach jeder winkenden Hand.
Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast uncovered [thyself to another] than me, and hast gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee [a covenant] with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest [it].
9 Und du zogst hin zum Könige mit Öl und verwandtest viele Salben, und du sandtest deine Boten bis weithin und bis tief hinab in die Unterwelt. (Sheol h7585)
And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase [thyself even] to hell. (Sheol h7585)
10 Durch deine vielen Gänge wurdest du müde, sprachst aber nicht: Ich geb' es auf! Du bemerktest noch Leben in deiner Hand; darum fühltest du dich nicht zu schwach.
Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; [yet] saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thy hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.
11 Vor wen scheutest und fürchtetest du dich denn, daß du treulos werden mußtest und meiner nicht mehr gedachtest, nichts mehr von mir wissen wolltest? Nichtwahr, weil ich schweige, und zwar seit längster Zeit, - darum fürchtest du mich nicht mehr!
And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid [it] to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?
12 Ich will meine Gerechtigkeit kund werden lassen; deine Machwerke aber, - die werden dir nicht nützen.
I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.
13 Wann du schreist, mögen dich deine Götzen erretten: doch sie alle trägt ein Wind davon, nimmt ein Hauch hinweg.
When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take [them]: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
14 Und so sagt er denn: Macht Bahn, macht Bahn! Richtet her den Weg! Räumt meinem Volke jeglichen Anstoß aus dem Wege!
And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people.
15 Denn so spricht der Hohe und Erhabene, der ewig Thronende, dessen Name Heiliger ist: In der Höhe und als Heiliger wohne ich, und die, die zerknirscht und demütiges Geistes sind - neu beleben will ich den Geist Demütiger und neu beleben das Herz Zerknirschter!
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
16 Denn nicht auf immer will ich hadern, noch will ich ewig zürnen; denn ihr Geist würde vor mir dahinschmachten, und die Seelen, die ich selbst geschaffen habe.
For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit would fail before me, and the souls [which] I have made.
17 Um seiner Verschuldung willen zürnte ich eine kleine Weile und strafte ihn, indem ich zürnend mich verhüllte: da ging er abtrünnig dahin auf selbstgewähltem Wege.
For the iniquity of his covetousness I was wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.
18 Ich sah seine Wege und ich will ihn heilen, will ihn leiten und Tröstung zukommen lassen ihm, das ist seinen Trauernden.
I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.
19 Er, der Frucht der Lippen schafft: Heil, Heil den Fernen und den Nahen, spricht Jahwe, und ich will ihn heilen!
I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to [him that is] far off, and to [him that is] near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.
20 Aber die Gottlosen sind wie das aufgewühlte Meer, denn es vermag nicht zur Ruhe zu kommen, und so wühlen seine Wasser immer wieder Schlamm und Kot herauf.
But the wicked [are] like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
21 Keinen Frieden, spricht mein Gott, giebt es für die Gottlosen!
[There is] no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
