1 Mose 26
1 Es kam aber eine Hungersnot über das Land - eine andere, als jene frühere Hungersnot, die zu Abrahams Zeit gewesen war -, da zog Isaak zu Abimelech, dem Könige der Philister, nach Gerar.
And it was a famine in the land besides the famine former which it was in [the] days of Abraham and he went Isaac to Abimelech [the] king of [the] Philistines Gerar towards.
2 Da erschien ihm Jahwe und sprach: ziehe nicht hinab nach Ägypten! Bleibe in dem Lande, das ich dir sagen werde!
And he appeared to him Yahweh and he said may not you go down Egypt towards dwell in the land which I will say to you.
3 Weile als Fremdling in diesem Lande, so will ich mit dir sein und dich segnen. Denn dir und deinen Nachkommen will ich alle diese Länder geben und werde den Schwur aufrecht erhalten, den ich deinem Vater Abraham geschworen habe.
Sojourn in the land this so I may be with you and I will bless you for to you and to offspring your I will give all the lands these and I will establish the oath which I swore to Abraham father your.
4 Und ich werde deine Nachkommen so zahlreich werden lassen, wie die Sterne am Himmel, und werde deinen Nachkommen alle diese Länder geben, und durch deine Nachkommen sollen alle Völker auf Erden gesegnet werden,
And I will multiply offspring your like [the] stars of the heavens and I will give to offspring your all the lands these and they will bless themselves by offspring your all [the] nations of the earth.
5 zum Lohne dafür, daß Abraham meinem Befehl gehorcht und alles beobachtet hat, was ich von ihm forderte, meine Gebote, meine Satzungen und meine Weisungen.
Consequence that he listened Abraham to voice my and he kept duty my commandments my statutes my and laws my.
6 So blieb Isaak in Gerar.
And he dwelt Isaac in Gerar.
7 Als sich aber die Bewohner des Orts nach seinem Weibe erkundigen, da sprach er: Sie ist meine Schwester! Denn er fürchtete sich zu sagen: Sie ist mein Weib; denn, dachte er, die Bewohner des Orts könnten mich sonst umbringen wegen Rebeka, weil sie so schön ist.
And they asked [the] men of the place of wife his and he said [is] sister my she for he was afraid to say wife my lest they should kill me [the] men of the place on Rebekah for [was] good of appearance she.
8 Als er nun längere Zeit dort gewohnt hatte, da schaute einst Abimelech, der König der Philister, zum Fenster hinaus und sah, wie Isaak mit seinem Weibe Rebeka scherzte.
And it was that they had become long to him there the days and he looked down Abimelech [the] king of [the] Philistines through the window and he saw and there! Isaac [was] playing with Rebekah wife his.
9 Da ließ Abimelech den Isaak rufen und sprach: Also dein Weib ist sie! Wie konntest du da sagen: Sie ist meine Schwester? Isaak antwortete ihm: Ja, ich dachte, ich könnte ihretwegen etwa gar sterben müssen.
And he summoned Abimelech Isaac and he said surely here! [is] wife your she and how? did you say [is] sister my she and he said to him Isaac for I thought lest I should die on her.
10 Da sprach Abimelech: Was hast du uns da angethan! Wie leicht konnte irgend einer deinem Weibe beiwohnen, und du hättest damit schwere Schuld auf uns geladen.
And he said Abimelech what? this have you done to us like a little he lay with one of the people wife your and you will bring on us guilt.
11 Hierauf gebot Abimelech allem Volke: Wer diesen Mann und sein Weib antastet, soll mit dem Tode bestraft werden!
And he commanded Abimelech all the people saying who [-ever] touches the man this and wife his certainly he will be put to death.
12 Isaak aber säete in jenem Land und erntete in jenem Jahre hundertfältig, denn Jahwe segnete ihn.
And he sowed Isaac in the land that and he found in the year that one hundred measures and he blessed him Yahweh.
13 So wurde der Mann reich und wurde immer reicher, bis er sehr reich war;
And he became great the man and he went continuously and becoming great until for he became great exceedingly.
14 und er besaß Schafherden und Rinderherden und viele Leibeigene, so daß die Philister ihn beneideten.
And it be[longed] to him livestock of flock and livestock of herd and service much and they envied him [the] Philistines.
15 Es hatten aber die Philister alle die Brunnen, welche die Sklaven seines Vaters bei Lebzeiten seines Vaters Abraham gegraben hatten, verschüttet und mit Erde angefüllt.
And all the wells which they had dug [the] servants of father his in [the] days of Abraham father his they stopped up them [the] Philistines and they filled them earth.
16 Da sprach Abimelech zu Isaak: Ziehe hinweg von uns, denn du bist uns zu mächtig geworden!
And he said Abimelech to Isaac go from with us for you have become [too] powerful for us much.
17 Da zog Isaak von dort hinweg, schlug sein Lager im Thale von Gerar auf und blieb daselbst.
And he went from there Isaac and he encamped in [the] wadi of Gerar and he dwelt there.
18 Hierauf ließ Isaak die Brunnen wieder aufgraben, die die Sklaven seines Vaters Abraham gegraben und welche die Philister nach Abrahams Tode verschüttet hatten, und benannte sie wieder mit den Namen, die ihnen sein Vater gegeben hatte.
And he returned Isaac and he dug - [the] wells of water which people had dug in [the] days of Abraham father his and they had stopped up them [the] Philistines after [the] death of Abraham and he called them names like the names which he had called them father his.
19 Da gruben die Sklaven Isaaks im Thalgrunde nach und fanden daselbst eine Quelle mit fließendem Wasser.
And they dug [the] servants of Isaac in the wadi and they found there a well of water living.
20 Die Hirten von Gerar aber gerieten in Streit mit den Hirten Isaaks und sprachen: Uns gehört das Wasser! Da nannte er die Quelle “Esek”, weil sie mit ihm gezankt hatten.
And they disputed [the] herdsmen of Gerar with [the] herdsmen of Isaac saying [belongs] to us the water and he called [the] name of the well Esek for they quarreled with him.
21 Hierauf gruben sie einen anderen Brunnen, aber sie gerieten auch seinetwegen in Streit; daher nannte er ihn “Sitna”.
And they dug a well another and they disputed also on it and he called name its Sitnah.
22 Dann zog er weiter von dort hinweg und grub einen anderen Brunnen. Über den gerieten sie nicht in Streit; daher nannte er ihn “Rehoboth” und sprach: Nun hat uns Jahwe freien Raum geschafft, daß wir uns ausbreiten können im Lande!
And he moved on from there and he dug a well another and not they disputed on it and he called name its Rehoboth and he said that now he has made space Yahweh for us and we will be fruitful in the land.
23 Alsdann zog er von dort hinauf nach Beerseba.
And he went up from there Beer Sheba.
24 Da erschien ihm Jahwe in selbiger Nacht und sprach: Ich bin der Gott deines Vaters Abraham! Sei getrost, denn ich bin mit dir; und ich will dich segnen und deine Nachkommen zahlreich werden lassen um meines Dieners Abraham willen!
And he appeared to him Yahweh in the night that and he said I [am] [the] God of Abraham father your may not you be afraid for [am] with you I and I will bless you and I will multiply offspring your for sake of Abraham servant my.
25 Da erbaute er daselbst einen Altar, rief den Namen Jahwes an und schlug daselbst sein Zelt auf. Hierauf gruben die Sklaven Isaaks dort einen Brunnen.
And he built there an altar and he called on [the] name of Yahweh and he pitched there tent his and they dug there [the] servants of Isaac a well.
26 Es war aber Abimelech mit Ahusat, seinem vertrauten Rat, und mit Pichol, seinem Heerführer, von Gerar zu ihm gekommen.
And Abimelech he came to him from Gerar and Ahuzzah close friend his and Phicol [the] commander of army his.
27 Da sprach Isaak zu ihnen: Warum kommt ihr zu mir, da ihr doch feindlich gegen mich gesinnt seid und mich von euch getrieben habt?
And he said to them Isaac why? have you come to me and you you hate me and you sent away me from with you.
28 Sie sprachen: Wir haben wohl gesehen, daß Jahwe mit dir war; da beschlossen wir, es müsse eine gegenseitige Verpflichtung von uns und dir beschworen werden, und wollen einen Vertrag mit dir schließen,
And they said certainly we have seen that he has been Yahweh - with you and we said let it be please an oath between us between us and between you and let us make a covenant with you.
29 daß du uns nicht Böses zufügen willst, wie auch wir dich nicht angetastet und dir nur Gutes erwiesen haben, indem wir dich in Frieden ziehen ließen. Du bist nun einmal der Gesegnete Jahwes!
If you will do with us harm just as not we have touched you and just as we have done with you only good and we sent away you in peace you now [are] blessed of Yahweh.
30 Da bereitete er ihnen ein Mahl, und sie aßen und tranken.
And he prepared for them a feast and they ate and they drank.
31 Am andern Morgen früh aber schwuren sie sich gegenseitig; hierauf verabschiedete sie Isaak, und sie gingen in Frieden von ihm.
And they rose early in the morning and they swore an oath each to brother his and he sent off them Isaac and they went from with him in peace.
32 An demselben Tage kamen die Sklaven Isaaks und berichteten ihm in betreff des Brunnens, den sie gegraben hatten, und sprachen zu ihm: Wir haben Wasser gefunden!
And it was - on the day that and they came [the] servants of Isaac and they told to him on [the] causes of the well which they had dug and they said to him we have found water.
33 Da nannte er ihn Siba; daher hießt die Stadt Beerseba bis auf den heutigen Tag.
And he called it Shibah there-fore [the] name of the city [is] Beer Sheba until the day this.
34 Als nun Esau vierzig Jahre alt war, heiratete er Judith, die Tochter des Hethiters Beeri, und Basmath, die Tochter des Hethiters Elon.
And he was Esau a son of forty year[s] and he took a wife Judith [the] daughter of Beeri the Hittite and Basemath [the] daughter of Elon the Hittite.
35 Die waren ein schwerer Kummer für Isaak und Rebeka.
And they were bitterness of spirit to Isaac and to Rebekah.
