1 Und dies sind ihre Familienhäupter - samt den in ihrem Geschlechte Verzeichneten -, die unter der Regierung des Königs Arthahsastha mit mir aus Babel heraufzogen.
Now, these, are their ancestral heads, and their genealogical register, —even of those who came up with me, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king, out of Babylon: —
2 Von den Nachkommen des Pinehas: Gersom. Von den Nachkommen Ithamars: Daniel. Von den Nachkommen Davids: Hattus,
Of the sons of Phinehas, Gershom, of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel, —of the sons of David, Hattush;
3 der Sohn Sechanjas. Von den Nachkommen Pareos': Sacharja, und mit ihm verzeichnet an Mannspersonen 150.
Of the sons of Shecaniah, of the sons of Parosh, Zechariah, —and, with him—by genealogical registry of males, a hundred and fifty:
4 Von den Nachkommen Pahath-Moabs: Eljehoënai, der Sohn Serahjas, und mit ihm 200 Mannspersonen.
Of the sons of Pahath-moab, Eliehoenai, son of Zerahiah, —and, with him, two hundred males;
5 Von den Nachkommen Sattus: Sechanja, der Sohn Jehasïels, und mit ihm 300 Mannspersonen.
Of the sons of Zattu, Shecaniah, the son of Jehaziel, —and, with him, three hundred males;
6 Von den Nachkommen Adins: Ebed, der Sohn Jonathans, und mit ihm 50 Mannspersonen.
And, of the sons of Adin, Ebed, son of Jonathan, —and, with him, fifty males;
7 Von den Nachkommen Elams: Jesaja, der Sohn Athaljas, und mit ihm 70 Mannspersonen.
And, of the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah, son of Athaliah, —and, with him, seventy males;
8 Von den Nachkommen Sephatjas: Sebadja, der Sohn Michaëls, und mit ihm 80 Mannspersonen.
And, of the sons of Shephatiah, Zebadiah, son of Michael, —and, with him, eighty males;
9 Von den Nachkommen Joabs: Obadja, der Sohn Jehiels, und mit ihm 218 Mannspersonen.
Of the sons of Joab, Obadiah, son of Jehiel, and, with him, two hundred and eighteen males;
10 Von den Nachkommen Banis: Selomith, der Sohn Josiphjas, und mit ihm 160 Mannspersonen.
And, of the sons of Bani, Shelomith, son of Josiphiah, —and, with him, a hundred and sixty males;
11 Von den Nachkommen Bebais: Sacharja, der Sohn Bebais, und mit ihm 28 Mannspersonen.
And, of the sons of Bebai, Zechariah, son of Bebai, and, with him, twenty-eight males;
12 Von den Nachkommen Asgads: Johanan, der Sohn Hakkatans, und mit ihm 110 Mannspersonen.
And, of the sons of Azgad, Johanan, son of Hakkatan, —and, with him, a hundred and ten males;
13 Von den Nachkommen Adonikams: Spätlinge, und zwar mit Namen: Eliphelet, Jeïel und Semaja, und mit ihnen 60 Mannspersonen.
And, of the later sons of Adonikam, these being their names, Eliphelet, Jeuel, and Shemaiah, —and, with them, sixty males;
14 Von den Nachkommen Bigevais: Uthai und Sabbud, und mit ihnen 70 Mannspersonen.
And, of the sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zabbud, —and, with him, seventy males.
15 Und ich versammelte sie an dem Flusse, der nach Ahawa hinfließt, und wir lagerten dort drei Tage. Als ich aber das Volk und die Priester näher in Augenschein nahm, fand ich keinen von den Leviten dort.
And I gathered them together, unto the river that cometh into Ahava, and we encamped there three days, —and I informed myself among the people and the priests, and, of the sons of Levi, found I none there.
16 Da entsandte ich Elïeser, Arïel, Semaja, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Sacharja und Mesullam, sämtlich Häupter, und Jojarib und Elnathan, beides Lehrer,
So I sent for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men, —also for Joiarib and for Elnathan, teachers.
17 und beorderte sie an Iddo, das Haupt, in der Ortschaft Kasiphja und legte ihnen in den Mund, was sie Iddo, seinen Brüdern und den Tempeldienern in der Ortschaft Kasiphja wörtlich ausrichten sollten, um uns Diener für den Tempel unseres Gottes zuzuführen.
And I sent them forth unto Iddo the chief, at the place Casiphia, —and I put into their mouth words, to speak unto Iddo and his brethren the Nethinim, at the place Casiphia, to bring unto us attendants for the house of our God.
18 Und da die Hand unseres Gottes gnädig über uns waltete, brachten sie uns einen einsichtigen Mann von den Nachkommen Mahelis, des Sohnes Levis, des Sohnes Israels, und zwar Serebja mit seinen Söhnen und Brüdern, zusammen achtzehn,
So they brought unto us, according to the good hand of our God upon us, a man of discretion, of the sons of Mahli, son of Levi, son of Israel, —and Sherebiah, and his sons and his brethren, eighteen;
19 und Hosabja und mit ihm Jesaja von den Nachkommen Meraris, seine Brüder und ihre Söhne, zusammen zwanzig;
and Hashabiah, and, with him, Jeshaiah, of the sons of Merari, —his brethren and their sons, twenty;
20 und von den Tempeldienern, die David und seine Obersten zur Bedienung der Leviten hergegeben hatten: 220 Tempeldiener; sie alle sind mit Namen angegeben.
and, of the Nethinim whom David and the rulers had given for the service of the Levites, Nethinim, two hundred and twenty, —all of them, expressed by name.
21 Und ich ließ dort am Flusse Ahawa ein Fasten ausrufen, damit wir uns vor unserem Gotte demütigten, um glückliche Reise für uns und unsere Kinder und alle unsere Habe von ihm zu erbitten.
Then proclaimed I there a fast, by the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, —to seek of him a smooth way, for us and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
22 Denn ich schämte mich, vom Könige Heeresmacht und Reiter zu verlangen, damit sie uns auf dem Wege vor Feinden schützten. Denn wir hatten dem Könige gesagt: Unseres Gottes Hand waltet über allen, die ihn suchen, zu ihrem Besten; aber sein machtvoller Zorn wendet sich gegen alle, die von ihm abfallen.
For I was ashamed to ask of the king, a band of soldiers and horsemen, to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God, is upon all who seek him, for good, But, his power and his anger, are against all who forsake him.
23 Und so fasteten wir und baten unseren Gott dieserhalb um Erhörung, und er ließ sich von uns erbitten.
So we fasted and sought of our God, concerning this, —and he suffered himself to be entreated by us.
24 Hierauf erwählte ich zwölf aus den Obersten der Priester und Serebja, Hasabja und mit ihnen zehn von ihren Brüdern,
Then I separated, from among the rulers of the priests, twelve, —even Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and, with them, from among their brethren, ten;
25 und wog ihnen das Silber und das Gold und die Gefäße dar - die Weihgeschenke für den Tempel unseres Gottes, die der König und seine Räte und seine Obersten und alle Israeliten, die sich dort befanden, gestiftet hatten.
and weighed unto them, the silver and the gold, and the utensils, —the heave-offering for the house of our God, which the king and his counselors and his rulers and all Israel who were present, had offered:
26 Und so wog ich ihnen in ihre Hände dar: 650 Talente Silber; hundert silberne Gefäße im Werte von .... Talenten; an Gold: hundert Talente;
I even weighed unto their hand, of silver, six hundred and fifty talents, and, of utensils of silver, a hundred talents, —of gold, a hundred talents;
27 dazu zwanzig goldene Becher im Werte von tausend Drachmen und zwei Gefäße von feinem, goldglänzendem Erz, so kostbar wie Gold.
and, bowls of gold, twenty, of a thousand drams, —and, utensils of fine bright bronze, two, precious as gold.
28 Und ich sprach zu ihnen: Ihr seid Jahwe heilig, und die Geräte sind heilig, und das Silber und das Gold sind eine freiwillige Spende für Jahwe, den Gott eurer Väter.
Then said I unto them, Ye, are hallowed unto Yahweh, and, the utensils, are hallowed, —and, the silver and the gold, are a freewill offering, unto Yahweh, God of your fathers:
29 So verwahrt es denn sorgsam, bis ihr es vor den Obersten der Priester und der Leviten und den Familien-Obersten Israels in Jerusalem, in die Zellen des Tempels Jahwes darwägt!
Watch and guard, until ye weigh [them] before the rulers of the priests and the Levites and the ancestral rulers of Israel, in Jerusalem, —in the chambers of the house of Yahweh.
30 Da übernahmen die Priester und die Leviten das Silber und das Gold und die Gefäße nach dem Gewicht, um es nach Jerusalem, zum Tempel unseres Gottes zu bringen.
So the priests and the Levites accepted the weight of the silver and the gold, and the utensils, —to bring to Jerusalem, unto the house of our God.
31 Da brachen wir auf vom Flusse Ahawa am zwölften Tage des ersten Monats, um nach Jerusalem zu ziehen, und die Hand unseres Gottes waltete über uns, so daß er uns aus der Gewalt der Feinde und Wegelagerer errettete.
Then brake we up from the river of Ahava, on the twelfth of the first month, to journey unto Jerusalem, —and, the hand of our God, was upon us, and he delivered us from the grasp of the enemy and of the lier in wait, by the way.
32 Und so gelangten wir nach Jerusalem und verweilten dort drei Tage.
So we came to Jerusalem, —and we rested there, three days.
33 Am vierten Tag aber wurde das Silber und das Gold und die Geräte im Tempel unseres Gottes dargewogen in die Hände des Priesters Meremoth, des Sohnes Urias, - und bei ihm war Eleasar, der Sohn Pinehas', und diesen wieder waren zugesellt die Leviten Josabad, der Sohn Jesuas, und Noadja, der Sohn Binnuis -
And, on the fourth day, was weighed—the silver and the gold and the utensils, in the house of our God, unto the hand of Meremoth son of Uriah, the priest, and, with him, was Eleazar son of Phinehas, —and, with them, were Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui, Levites:
34 insgesamt nach Zahl und Gewicht dargewogen; und das gesamte Gewicht wurde damals aufgeschrieben.
by the number and by the weight of the whole, —and all the weight, was written down, at that time.
35 Die aus der Gefangenschaft Angelangten brachten dem Gott Israels Brandopfer dar: 12 Stiere für ganz Israel, 96 Widder, 77 Lämmer, 12 Böcke zum Sündopfer - alles als Brandopfer für Jahwe.
They who came in out of the captivity, Sons of the Exile, offered as ascending-sacrifices unto the God of Israel—bullocks twelve for all Israel, rams ninety-six, young sheep seventy-seven, he-goats for bearing sin, twelve, —the whole, as an ascending-sacrifice unto Yahweh.
36 Und sie übergaben die Verordnungen des Königs an die königlichen Satrapen und die Statthalter des Gebiets jenseits des Stroms, und sie unterstützen das Volk und den Tempel Gottes.
Then delivered they the decrees of the king, unto the satraps of the king, and the pashas Beyond the River, —and they upheld the people and the house of God.
