Hesekiel 1
1 Es ereignete sich im dreißigsten Jahr im vierten Monat, am fünften des Monats, als ich mich unter den Weggeführten am Flusse Kebar befand, da that sich der Himmel auf, und ich sah ein göttliches Gesicht.
It came to passe in the thirtieth yere in the fourth moneth, and in the fift day of the moneth (as I was among the captiues by the riuer Chebar) that the heauens were opened and I sawe visions of GOD.
2 Am fünften des Monats - es war das fünfte Jahr nach der Wegführung des Königs Jojachin -,
In the fift day of the moneth (which was the fift yere of King Ioiachins captiuitie)
3 da erging das Wort Jahwes an Hesekiel, den Sohn Busis, den Priester, im Lande der Chaldäer am Flusse Kebar, und es kam dort über ihn die Hand Jahwes.
The word of the Lord came vnto Ezekiel the Priest, the sonne of Buzi, in the lande of the Caldeans, by the riuer Chebar, where the hande of the Lord was vpon him.
4 Ich sah aber, wie ein Sturmwind von Norden her kam und eine große Wolke und zusammengeballtes Feuer, und rings um jene her waren Strahlen, und aus diesem heraus blinkte es wie Glanzerz.
And I looked, and beholde, a whirlewinde came out of the North, a great cloude and a fire wrapped about it, and a brightnesse was about it, and in the middes thereof, to wit, in the middes of the fire came out as the likenesse of amber.
5 Und zwar schienen aus ihm die Gestalten von vier Wesen hervor. Und dies war ihr Aussehen: Menschengestalt hatten sie.
Also out of the middes therof came the likenesse of foure beastes, and this was their forme: they had the appearance of a man.
6 Und ein jedes hatte vier Gesichter und ein jedes von ihnen vier Flügel.
And euery one had foure faces, and euery one had foure wings.
7 Und ihre Beine waren gerade und ihre Fußsohlen wie die eines Kalbes, und sie funkelten, wie geglättetes Erz funkelt.
And their feete were streight feete, and the sole of their feete was like the sole of a calues foote, and they sparkled like the appearance of bright brasse.
8 Und unter ihren Flügeln an ihren vier Seiten hatten sie Menschenhände. Und die Angesichter der Viere und ihre Flügel -
And the handes of a man came out from vnder their wings in the foure parts of them, and they foure had their faces, and their wings.
9 es berührten nämlich ihre Flügel immer einer den andern - wandten sich nicht um, wenn sie gingen: jedes ging gerade vor sich hin.
They where ioyned by their wings one to another, and when they went forth, they returned not, but euery one went streight forward.
10 Ihre Gesichter aber sahen so aus: vorn war ein Menschengesicht, auf der rechten Seite ein Löwengesicht, auf der linken Seite ein Stiergesicht und ein Adlergesicht
And the similitude of their faces was as the face of a man: and they foure had the face of a lyon on the right side, and they foure had the face of a bullocke on the left side: they foure also had the face of an eagle.
11 nach innen zu. Und ihre Flügel waren nach oben hin ausgespannt: je zwei hatten sie miteinander verbunden, und zwei bedeckten ihre Leiber.
Thus were their faces: but their wings were spred out aboue: two wings of euery one were ioined one to another, and two couered their bodies.
12 Und sie gingen ein jedes gerade vor sich hin; wohin sie der Geist zu gehen trieb, dahin gingen sie; wenn sie gingen, machten sie keine Wendungen.
And euery one went streight forward: they went whither their spirit led them, and they returned not when they went forth.
13 Und zwischen den Wesen sah es aus, wie wenn feurige Kohlen glühten; es war wie wenn Fackeln zwischen den Wesen hin und her führen, und das Feuer hatte einen hellen Glanz, und von dem Feuer gingen Blitze aus.
The similitude also of the beasts, and their appearance was like burning coles of fire, and like the appearance of lampes: for the fire ran among the beastes, and the fire gaue a glister, and out of the fire there went lightning.
14 Und die Tiere liefen hin und her wie der Schein des Blitzes.
And the beastes ranne, and returned like vnto lightning.
15 Und weiter sah ich, daß auf der Erde neben den vier Wesen je ein Rad war.
Nowe as I behelde the beastes, beholde, a wheele appeared vpon the earth by the beastes, hauing foure faces.
16 Und die Räder waren anzusehen, wie das Blinken von Chrysolith. Und die Viere hatten einerlei Gestalt, und ihre Arbeit war, als wenn ein Rad innerhalb des andern wäre.
The facion of the wheeles and their worke was like vnto a chrysolite: and they foure had one forme, and their facion, and their worke was as one wheele in another wheele.
17 Nach ihren vier Seiten gingen sie: nicht wandten sie sich, wenn sie gingen.
Whe they went, they went vpon their foure sides, and they returned not when they went.
18 Und als ich ihre Felgen ansah, - da waren ihre Felgen ringsum voll Augen bei den Vieren.
They had also rings, and height, and were fearefull to beholde, and their rings were full of eyes, round about them foure.
19 Und wenn die Tiere gingen, so gingen die Räder neben ihnen mit, und wenn sich die Tiere von der Erde erhoben, so erhoben sich auch die Räder.
And when the beastes went, the wheeles went with them: and when the beasts were lift vp from the earth, the wheeles were lift vp.
20 Wohin der Geist jene zu gehen trieb, dahin gingen sie, und die Räder erhoben sich jedesmal gleichzeitig mit ihnen; denn der Geist der Tiere war in den Rädern.
Whither the spirit led them, they went, and thither did the spirite of the wheeles leade them, and the wheeles were lifted vp besides them: for the spirit of the beastes was in the wheeles.
21 Wenn jene gingen, so gingen auch sie, und wenn jene stehen blieben, so blieben auch sie stehen, und wenn sich jene von der Erde erhoben, dann erhoben sich auch die Räder gleichzeitig mit ihnen; denn der Geist der Tiere war in den Rädern.
When the beastes went, they went, and when they stoode, they stoode, and when they were lifted vp from the earth, the wheeles were lifted vp besides them: for the spirite of the beastes was in the wheeles.
22 Und über den Häuptern der Tiere war ein Gebilde wie eine Veste, glänzend wie Krystall; oben über ihren Häuptern war sie ausgebreitet.
And the similitude of the firmament vpon the heads of the beasts was wonderfull, like vnto chrystall, spred ouer their heads aboue.
23 Und unter der Veste waren ihre Flügel einer gegen den andern ausgebreitet; ein jedes aber hatte zwei, welche ihre Leiber bedeckten.
And vnder the firmament were their wings streight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which couered the, and euery one had two, which couered their bodies.
24 Und ich hörte das Rauschen ihrer Flügel wie das Rauschen gewaltiger Wasser, wenn sie gingen; wenn sie standen, hingen ihre Flügel schlaff herab.
And when they went foorth, I heard the noyse of their wings, like the noyse of great waters, and as the voyce of the Almightie, euen the voyce of speach, as the noyse of an host: and when they stood, they let downe their wings.
25 Es war aber ein Getöse oberhalb der Veste, die sich über ihrem Haupt befand; wenn sie standen, hingen ihre Flügel schlaff herab.
And there was a voyce from the firmament, that was ouer their heads, when they stoode, and had let downe their wings.
26 Oben über der Veste aber, die sich über ihrem Haupte befand, war es anzusehen wie ein Sapphirstein; da war ein Gebilde wie ein Thron, und auf dem Throngebilde war ein Gebilde, anzusehen wie ein Mensch, oben darauf.
And aboue the firmament that was ouer their heads, was the facion of a throne like vnto a saphir stone, and vpon the similitude of the throne was by appearance, as the similitude of a man aboue vpon it.
27 Und ich sah es leuchten wie Glanzerz von dem an, was wie seine Hüften aussah, nach oben hin; und von dem an, was wie seine Hüften aussah, nach unten zu hatte ich einen Anblick wie von Feuer. Und rings um ihn her war Glanz:
And I sawe as the appearance of amber, and as the similitude of fire round about within it to looke to, euen from his loynes vpwarde: and to looke to, euen from his loynes downewarde, I sawe as a likenesse of fire, and brightnesse round about it.
28 wie der Bogen aussieht, der sich am Regentag im Gewölke zu zeigen pflegt, so war der Glanz ringsum anzusehen. So war die Erscheinung der Herrlichkeit Jahwes anzusehen. Und als ich sie erblickte, da fiel ich auf mein Angesicht. Und ich hörte die Stimme eines, der da redete.
As the likenesse of the bowe, that is in the cloude in the day of raine, so was the appearance of the light round about. This was the appearance of the similitude of the glorie of the Lord: and when I sawe it, I fell vpon my face, and I heard a voyce of one that spake.
