2 Samuel 22
1 David richtete an Jahwe die Worte dieses Lieds zu der Zeit, als Jahwe ihn aus der Hand aller seiner Feinde und aus der Hand Sauls errettet hatte.
And David spake unto Yahweh, the words of this song, in the day when Yahweh had rescued him, out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul;
2 Er sprach: Jahwe ist mein Fels in meiner Drangsal und der mir Rettung schafft.
and he said, —Yahweh, was my mountain crag and my stronghold, and my deliverer—mine;
3 Mein Gott ist mein Hort, bei dem ich Zuflucht suche, mein Schild und mein Heilshorn, meine Burg und meine Zuflucht, mein Befreier, der du von Gewaltthat mich befreist.
My God, was my rock, I sought refuge in him, —My shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, My Saviour! from violence, thou didst save me.
4 Den Preiswürdigen rufe ich, Jahwe, so werde ich von meinen Feinden befreit.
As one worthy to be praised, called I on Yahweh, —And, from my foes, was I saved.
5 Denn umringt hatten mich Wasserwogen, tückische Bäche schreckten mich;
When the breakers of death had encompassed me, —the torrents of perdition, made me afraid, —
the meshes of hades, had surrounded me, —the snares of death had confronted me, (Sheol h7585)
7 Da mir angst ward, rief ich Jahwe an und zu meinem Gotte schrie ich: Er erhörte aus seinem Palaste meine Stimme und mein Geschrei drang zu seinen Ohren.
In my distress, called I on Yahweh, Yea, unto my God, did I call, —and he hearkened, out of his temple, unto my voice, and, my cry for help, was in his ears!
8 Er blickte her - da wankte die Erde; des Himmels Grundfesten erbebten und schwankten hin und her, weil er ergrimmt war.
Then did the earth shake and quake, the foundations of the heavens, were deeply moved, —yea they did shake, because he was angry,
9 Rauch stieg auf in seiner Nase, und Feuer fraß aus seinem Munde, glühende Kohlen brannten von ihm aus.
There went up a smoke in his nostrils, and, a fire out of his mouth, devoured, —live coals, were kindled from it:
10 Er neigte den Himmel und ließ sich herab, während Dunkel unter seinen Füßen war.
Then he stretched out the heavens, and came down, —and, thick gloom, was under his feet;
11 Er bestieg einen Kerub und flog dahin und schwebte einher auf den Fittigen des Windes.
Then he rode on a cherub, and flew, —and was seen on the wings of the wind;
12 Er umgab sich mit Finsternis als einer Hütte, mit Wasserdunkel, dichte Wolken.
And made of the darkness around him, pavilions, —gathering of waters, clouds of vapours.
13 Vom Glanze vor ihm brachen hervor Hagel und Feuerkohlen;
Out of the brightness before him, were kindled live coals of fire;
14 es donnerte vom Himmel Jahwe und der Höchste ließ seine Stimme erschallen.
Thunder from the heavens, did Yahweh give forth, —yea, the Highest, uttered his voice;
15 Er schleuderte Pfeile und zerstreute sie, blitzte Blitze und scheuchte sie.
And he sent forth arrows, and scattered them, —lightning, and confused them;
16 Da wurden sichtbar die Betten des Meeres, bloßgelegt die Grundfesten des Erdkreises vor dem Schelten Jahwes, vor dem Schnauben des Odems seiner Nase.
Then appeared the channels of the sea, were uncovered the foundations of the world, —at the rebuke of Yahweh, the blast of the breath of his nostrils;
17 Er langte herab aus der Höhe, ergriff mich, zog mich aus großen Wassern.
He sent from on high, he took me, —he drew me out of many waters;
18 Er entriß mich meinem starken Feinde, meinen Hassern, weil sie mir zu mächtig waren.
He rescued me from my foe, in his might, —from them who hated me, because they were too strong for me:
19 Sie überfielen mich an meinem Unglückstage, aber Jahwe ward meine Stütze.
They confronted me, in the day of my necessity, —then became Yahweh my stay:
20 Er führte mich heraus in freien Raum, riß mich heraus, weil er Wohlgefallen an mir hatte.
And brought out, into a large place, even me, —he delivered me, because he delighted in me:
21 Jahwe erweist mir nach meiner Gerechtigkeit, nach der Reinheit meiner Hände vergilt er mir.
Yahweh rewarded me, according to my righteousness—according to the cleanness of my hands, he repaid me:
22 Denn ich hielt inne die Wege Jahwes und frevelte nicht gegen meinen Gott.
For I had kept the ways of Yahweh, —and not broken away from my God;
23 Denn alle seine Rechte sind mir gegenwärtig, und seine Satzungen schob ich nicht beiseite.
For, all his regulations, were before me, —and, as for his statutes, I turned not from them.
24 Ich war redlich gegen ihn und hütete mich vor meiner Verschuldung:
So became I blameless towards him, —and kept myself from mine iniquity:
25 Da vergalt mir Jahwe nach meiner Gerechtigkeit, nach der Reinheit meiner Hände vor seinen Augen.
Yahweh therefore repaid me, according to my righteousness, —according to my pureness before his eyes.
26 Gegen die Liebreichen zeigst du dich liebreich, gegen die Redlichen zeigst du dich redlich.
With the loving, thou didst show thyself loving, —with the blameless hero, thou didst show thyself blameless;
27 gegen den Lauteren zeigst du dich lauter und gegen den Verkehrten zeigst du dich verdreht.
With the pure, thou didst show thyself pure, —but, with the perverse, thou didst shew thyself ready to contend:
28 Und du schaffst Hilfe gedrücktem Volke, aber die Augen aller Hoffärtigen erniedrigst du.
And, a patient people, thou didst save, —but, thine eyes, were on the lofty—thou layedst them low;
29 Denn du bist mein Leuchte, Jahwe, und Jahwe erhellt meine Finsternis.
For, thou, wast my lamp, O Yahweh, —and, Yahweh, enlightened my darkness;
30 Denn durch dich zerbreche ich Mauern, mit meinem Gotte springe ich über Wälle.
For, by thee, I ran through a troop, —by my God, I leapt over a wall.
31 Gottes Weg ist vollkommen! Das Wort Jahwes ist durchläutert: ein Schild ist er allen, die bei ihm Zuflucht suchen.
As for God, blameless is his way, —the speech of Yahweh, hath been proved, a shield, he is to all who seek refuge in him.
32 Denn wer ist Gott außer Jahwe, und wer ein Hort außer unserem Gott?
For who is a GOD, save Yahweh? and who a Rock, save our God?
33 Dem Gott, der mich mit Stärke gürtet und meinen Weg eben macht;
GOD, is my fortress of strength, —and shewed to the blameless his way;
34 der meine Füße den Hindinnen gleich macht und mich auf Höhen stellt;
Planting my feet like the hinds’, —yea, on my high places, he caused me to stand;
35 der meine Hände streiten lehrt, daß meine Arme den ehernen Bogen spannen.
Teaching my hands, to war, —so that a bow of bronze was bent by mine arms;
36 Und du gabst mir den Schild deines Heils und deine Herablassung machte mich groß.
Thus didst thou grant me, as a shield, thy salvation, —and, thy condescension, made me great.
37 Du machtest weiten Raum für meinen Schritt, und meine Knöchel wanken nicht.
Thou didst widen my stepping-places, under me, —so that mine ankles faltered not:
38 Ich verfolgte meine Feinde und holte sie ein und kehrte nicht um, bis ich sie vernichtet;
I pursued my foes, and destroyed them, —and returned not, till they were consumed;
39 ich vernichtete und zerschmetterte sie, daß sie nicht mehr aufstanden und hinsanken unter meine Füße.
So I consumed them, and crushed them, and they rose not again, —thus fell they under my feet:
40 Du gürtetest mich mit Stärke zum Streit, beugtest meine Widersacher unter mich.
Thus didst thou gird me with strength, for the battle, —thou subduedst mine assailants under me:
41 Du ließest mein Feinde vor mir fliehen; meine Hasser - die rottete ich aus!
And, as for my foes, thou didst give me their neck, —yea, them who hated me, that I might destroy them:
42 Sie schrieen - aber da war kein Helfer, zu Jahwe - aber er antwortete ihnen nicht.
They cried out, but there was none to save, —unto Yahweh, but he answered them not.
43 Und ich zermalmte sie wie Staub auf dem Boden, wie Gassenkot zertrat ich sie, goß ich sie aus.
Then did I beat them in pieces, like the dust of the earth, —like the clay of the lanes, did I crush them, stamp them down.
44 Du errettetest mich aus Völkerfehden, setzest mich zum Haupte der Heiden: Leute, die ich nicht kannte, wurden mir unterthan.
Thus didst thou rescue me from the contentions of my people, didst keep me to be the head of nations: —a people whom I had not known, served me;
45 Aufs Hörensagen gehorchen sie mir, die Söhne der Fremde schmeicheln mir.
The sons of the foreigner, came cringing unto me, —at the hearing of the ear, they submitted to me, —
46 Die Söhne der Fremde schmachten dahin und zittern hervor aus ihren Schlössern.
The sons of the foreigner, were disheartened, and came quaking, out of their fortresses.
47 Es lebt Jahwe und gepriesen ist mein Hort, und hoch erhaben der Gott, der Fels meines Heils;
Yahweh liveth, and blessed be my rock, —and exalted be the God (of the rock) of my salvation: —
48 der Gott, der mir Rache gab und die Völker unter mich that,
The GOD who hath avenged me, and brought down peoples under me;
49 der mich herausnahm aus meinen Feinden, und über meine Widersacher erhöhtest du mich. Vor dem Manne voll Gewaltthaten errettetest du mich.
And brought me forth from among my foes, —yea, from mine assailants, hast thou set me on high, from the man of violence, hast thou delivered me.
50 Darum will ich dich preisen, Jahwe, unter den Heiden und deinem Namen singen,
For this cause, will I praise thee, O Yahweh, among the nations, —and, to thy name, will I touch the strings: —
51 der seinem Könige großes Heil verleiht und seinem Gesalbten Huld erweist, David und seinem Samen bis in Ewigkeit!
Who hath made great the victories of his King, —and shown lovingkindness to his Anointed One, to David and to his Seed, unto times age-abiding.
