2 Samuel 21
1 Unter der Regierung Davids fand einst drei Jahre lang Jahr für Jahr eine Hungersnot statt. Da bemühte sich David um eine Offenbarung Jahwes, worauf Jahwe erwiderte: Auf Saul und seinem Hause ruht eine Blutschuld, weil er die Gibeoniten umgebracht hat.
And it was a famine in [the] days of David three years year after year and he sought David [the] face of Yahweh. And he said Yahweh because of Saul and because of [the] house of blood on that he put to death the Gibeonites.
2 Der König ließ die Gibeoniten kommen und fragte sie - die Gibeoniten gehören nämlich nicht zu den Israeliten, sondern zu den Überbleibseln der Amoriter; obgleich nun die Israeliten ihnen dereinst Verschonung zugeschworen hatten, versuchte Saul in seinem Eifer für die Israeliten und Judäer sie auszurotten.
And he summoned the king the Gibeonites and he said to them and the Gibeonites not [were] from [the] people of Israel they that except from [the] remnant of the Amorite[s] and [the] people of Israel they had sworn an oath to them and he had sought Saul to strike down them because was zealous he for [the] people of Israel and Judah.
3 David also fragte die Gibeoniten: Was soll ich für euch thun und womit soll ich Sühne schaffen, daß ihr Jahwes Erbteil wieder segnet?
And he said David to the Gibeonites what? will I do for you and how? will I make amends and bless [the] inheritance of Yahweh.
4 Die Gibeoniten erwiderten ihm: Es handelt sich für uns gegenüber Saul und seinem Hause nicht um Silber oder Gold, und es steht uns nicht zu, irgend jemand in Israel zu töten. Er entgegnete: Was fordert ihr, daß ich euch thun soll?
And they said to him the Gibeonites not (to us *QK) silver and gold with Saul and with house his and not to us a man to put to death in Israel and he said what? [are] you saying I will do for you.
5 Da sprachen sie zum Könige: Der Mann, der uns aufgerieben hat und der darauf sann, uns auszutilgen, so daß wir im ganzen Gebiet Israels nicht mehr existieren sollten,
And they said to the king the man who he made an end of us and who he planned to us we were destroyed from standing in all [the] territory of Israel.
6 - aus dessen Nachkommen soll man uns sieben Männer ausliefern, daß wir sie in Gibeon auf dem Berge Jahwes Jahwe aussetzen. Der König erwiderte: Ich werde sie ausliefern.
(Let it be given *Qk) to us seven men from descendants his and we will impale them to Yahweh at Gibeah of Saul [the] chosen one of Yahweh. And he said the king I I will give [them].
7 Der König verschonte jedoch Meribaal, den Sohn von Sauls Sohn Jonathan, um des Eides willen, den sie sich gegenseitig bei Jahwe geleistet hatten, David auf der einen und Sauls Sohn Jonathan auf der anderen Seite.
And he had compassion the king on Mephi-bosheth [the] son of Jonathan [the] son of Saul on [the] oath of Yahweh which [was] between them between David and between Jonathan [the] son of Saul.
8 Dagegen ließ der König die beiden Söhne, die Rizpa, die Tochter Ajas, Saul geboren hatte, Armoni und Meribaal, sowie die fünf Söhne von Sauls Tochter Merab, die sie Adriel, dem Sohne Barsillais aus Mehola, geboren hatte, den Gibeoniten ausliefern.
And he took the king [the] two [the] sons of Rizpah [the] daughter of Aiah whom she had borne to Saul Armoni and Mephibosheth and [the] five [the] sons of Michal [the] daughter of Saul whom she had borne to Adriel [the] son of Barzillai the Meholathite.
9 Die setzten sie vor Jahwe auf dem Berge aus, so daß die Sieben zusammen umkamen; und zwar wurden sie in den ersten Tagen der Ernte umgebracht.
And he gave them in [the] hand of the Gibeonites and they impaled them on the mountain before Yahweh and they fell ([the] seven of them *QK) together (and they *Qk) they were put to death in [the] days of harvest in the first (at [the] beginning of *QK) [the] harvest of barley.
10 Aber Rizpa, die Tochter Ajas, nahm ihr Trauergewand und machte sich daraus ein Lager auf dem Felsen zurecht vom Beginn der Ernte an, bis Regen vom Himmel auf die Toten niederfiel, und verhinderte so, daß die Vögel unter dem Himmel bei Tag und die wilden Tiere bei Nacht sich über sie her machten.
And she took Rizpah [the] daughter of Aiah sackcloth and she spread out it for herself to the rock from [the] beginning of harvest until it was poured out water on them from the heavens and not she permitted [the] bird[s] of the heavens to rest on them by day and [the] animal[s] of the field night.
11 Als man nun David hinterbrachte, was Sauls Kebsweib Rizpa, die Tochter Ajas, gethan habe,
And it was told to David [that] which she had done Rizpah [the] daughter of Aiah [the] concubine of Saul.
12 machte sich David auf den Weg und ließ sich die Gebeine Sauls, sowie die seines Sohnes Jonathan von den Bürgern von Jabes in Gilead herausgeben, die sie von dem freien Platze zu Beth San gestohlen hatten, wo die Philister sie damals, als sie Saul auf dem Gilboa schlugen, aufgehängt hatten.
And he went David and he took [the] bones of Saul and [the] bones of Jonathan son his from with [the] citizens of Jabesh Gilead who they had stolen them from [the] open square of Beth Shan where (they had hung up them there [the] Philistines *QK) on [the] day struck down [the] Philistines Saul on Gilboa.
13 Er brachte die Gebeine Sauls und die seines Sohnes Jonathan von dort hinweg; dann sammelte man die Gebeine der Ausgesetzten
And he brought up from there [the] bones of Saul and [the] bones of Jonathan son his and they gathered [the] bones of the impaled [men].
14 und begrub sie bei den Gebeinen Sauls und seines Sohnes Jonathan, im Gebiete von Bejamin in Zela, im Grabe seines Vaters Kis. Den Befehl des Königs führte man genau aus, und von da an ließ sich Gott für das Land wieder günstig stimmen.
And they buried [the] bones of Saul and Jonathan son his in [the] land of Benjamin at Zela in [the] tomb of Kish father his and they did all that he commanded the king and he was entreated God for the land after thus.
15 Als einst wieder ein Krieg zwischen den Philistern und Israel ausgebrochen, und David in Begleitung seiner Untergebenen zum Kampfe gegen die Philister hinabgezogen war, erhob sich, als sie sich zu Gob lagerten, Dod,
And it belonged again war to the Philistines with Israel and he went down David and servants his with him and they fought with [the] Philistines and he was weary David.
16 einer von den Riesenkindern, dessen Speer 300 Sekel Erz wog, und der mit einem neuen Schwert umgürtet war, und gedachte David zu erschlagen.
(And Ishbi-*QK) Benob who - [was] among those born of the Raphah and [the] weight of spear his [was] three hundred [the] weight of bronze and he [was] girded a new [weapon] and he said to strike down David.
17 Da kam ihm Abisai, der Sohn der Zeruja, zu Hilfe und schlug den Philister tot. Damals beschworen Davids Helden diesen mit den Worten: Du darfst nicht mehr mit uns in den Kampf ziehen, daß du die Leuchte Israels nicht auslöschest!
And he helped him Abishai [the] son of Zeruiah and he struck the Philistine and he killed him then they swore [the] men of David to him saying not you will go out again with us for battle and not you will extinguish [the] lamp of Israel.
18 Später kam es bei Gob nochmals zum Kampfe mit den Philistern. Damals erlegte der Husathiter Sibbechai den Saph, der auch zu den Riesenkindern gehörte.
And it was after thus and it was again war at Gob with [the] Philistines then he struck down Sibbecai the Hushathite Saph who [was] among those born of the Raphah.
19 Als es dann nochmals bei Gob zum Kampfe mit den Philistern kam, erlegte Elhanan, der Sohn Jairs aus Bethlehem, den Goliath aus Gath, dessen Speerschaft einem Weberbaume glich.
And it was again war at Gob with [the] Philistines and he struck down Elhanan [the] son of Jaare-Oregim [the] Beth-lehemite Goliath the Gittite and [the] wood of spear his [was] like a beam of weavers.
20 Als es einst wieder bei Gath zum Kampfe kam, befand sich da ein riesenlanger Mensch, der an den Händen je sechs Finger, an den Füßen je sechs Zehen hatte - zusammen vierundzwanzig - und der ebenfalls vom Riesengeschlechte stammte.
And it was again war at Gath and he was - a man of (stature *QK) and [the] fingers of hands his and [the] toes of feet his [were] six and six [was] twenty and four [the] number and also he he was born to the Raphah.
21 Als dieser Israel höhnte, erlegte ihn Jonathan, der Sohn von Davids Bruder Simei.
And he taunted Israel and he struck down him Jonathan [the] son of (Shimeah *QK) [the] brother of David.
22 Die genannten Vier stammten vom Riesengeschlechte zu Gath und fielen durch die Hand Davids und seiner Untergebenen.
Four these they were born to the Raphah in Gath and they fell by [the] hand of David and by [the] hand of servants his.
